What a helpful video! I saw others review the chenille and had similar glow issues with the grey and purple which is so disappointing- a purple glowing yarn would be so fun! The texture of the chenille looks so difficult to work with! I wish Lion brand would make more glow colors in the diy style yarn! Great video!!
Totally agree!! I really loved the regular diy glow! I hope next year they'll release it in new colors because I think that one is worth the money for sure if using for little accent things (just because of the price lol!)
I have used the reg. DIY glow on a poncho project last year, I did not feel the substance in my hands you mention in the video, nor did I have any on my desk but this was last year. I wonder if they changed anything in production. I did use a hook smaller but not that much, a 5 mm hook. The only thing I didnt like is the price. Too pricey! I saw the chenille at JoAnns and the texture is an abomination, just horrid. I Just could not see myself working with that, thanks for your sacrifice in testing it for us! It does feel like a pipe cleaner, hand killer! 😅 All the best from Seattle!
SO true!! To make an entire garment out of either of these yarns would cost a fortune because of how small they are with the price! Also LOL YES!!! The texture is horrible!! I really hope they change it 😭 I think it’s new so I’m really hoping they will make some improvements! Thank you so much for watching and your support!! 🥰🖤🖤
Wish I would've watched this video before purchasing the chenille yarn. I have the glow worm color for an amigurumi project. Can't make a MR, weird texture and its hard to see stitches! Glad its a small part and only 8 rows. 😮
I love how in detail you are and I appreciate it. I was like “ooh looks like velvet” and then you said “it’s deceiving” 😂 im still going to look for some though. Despite the texture it glows! I could make spider web coasters 😱😍🥰
Omg thank you!!! That means so much to me! 🥹 I’m still new at making videos especially long form ones where I have to talk a lot so that really means a lot!! 🥰 Also absolutely!! I would say it’s for sure worth a try if you see it! I found mine at Joann’s! I really want to see a cute little ghost or something out of it 😍
Sooo yucky! 😭 I am really picky with sensory things though so maybe its just me being sensitive. Also thank you!! I was using my right light and then was like WAIT I have a huge flashlight that would work even better!! 🤣

So glad you mentioned the texture. So disappointing to feel in the store. I was going to buy some but the feel was awful.
I felt the same way!! It looks so soft but it’s super deceiving 😂
I've had the film with the lion band ice cream yarn.
I'm so glad it's not just me!! The texture is just so odd and leaves such a strange feeling on your hands!

Right!!! I'm so glad it isn't just me who has problems with it! It's just suchhh a weird texture I can't do it lol!

omg I love that 😂learning about something new is always so fun!! Ty for your support! 🥰
OOOoOO having a film left on your hands sounds so yucky! Hahaha It was fun to watch you use that big flashlight on each of the yarns! 🎉

Thank you for the review! I'm curious if washing the yarns would relieve some of that crunch. I appreciate your perspective!
Ohh so true!!! I need to try that and see if it will soften up a bit!
