    Hi Dave and Rachael.
That copy of Crypt of Shadows appears to be a reprint of Mystic #30 from 1954.
The artwork is changed slightly but it’s definitely the same.
The only reason I know, is that it’s the only pre code horror I own.
    Chris.

I found your channel while researching comic book pressing. (Great information by the way.) Then watched this for the pedigree unboxing, but got more than I expected. You guys are great together. As a 50 something dad with two girls of my own, I know how special a relationship between a father and daughter can be. Mine are both daddy's girls! They are grown now but still enjoy listening to their Ol' man talk about comics! Love your channel. Subscribed!

Love your shows. Watching this one sitting in the train station in Toronto just having visited my own daughter for Star Trek comic related purposes. It was really wonderful seeing you just hand over that Spider-Ham comic to your own daughter, just because she loved it. I can totally relate...much respect, man.🖖

Pedigree means a lot of different things. One of the most important is that these books are from a original owner collection. In most cases these books are unread or read once and very fresh. Some pedigrees carry a significant amount of prestige. The Edgar Church (Mile High) books are known for being incredibly fresh with glossy covers and white pages. Collectors will pay considerably more for a Church book due to its pedigree qualities, not necessarily the pedigree itself. In contrast, Savannah and Mohawk Valley books are known to NOT have great page quality and it reflects in their prices achieved. Lastly, Gaines File Copies (GFC) are well respected due to them being pulled from the printer by the publisher and stored undisturbed for decades. They also have a certificate that accompanies most of the books signed by Bill Gaines himself and is prized by collector’s. In summary pedigrees are not just for bragging, in most case they are the best copies of individual books 👍

You're probably my age and I love the exact same stuff you do. It doesn't have to be valuable, at all, but just very, very cool. I find myself grabbing up as many Earl Norem covers as I come across and, recently, I'm finding some graded hippie-era independent comics that have been very satisfying to receive. Most of my personal stuff, though, is often low-value early Bronze books with great covers. Throw any of those in a new mylar and, pop, there's a beauty to behold. What are your felings about the Marvel Magazine Group stuff? I think that the lot of the vintage magazines are some of the best things to come out of the Bronze era and I'm rather stymied that it generally remains affordable--especially in very high grade and that collectors don't go after them with the zeal saved for comics. Bigger covers, bigger art, higher-quality production, more robustly detailed covers and, oh, the painting. I love all of it. Anyway, a great bunch of books to see you both roll through. Stay well and take very good care.

Looking forward to the Bronze Age horror sale in October. Frankenstein Monster was always my favorite of the big three (Dracula, Werewolf by Night). Unfortunately, it didn't have that long of a run as the other two but that adds to its charm in my opinion.
