- Hi everyone, welcome to a day in my life as a graphic designer who works in a design agency! It's a pretty interesting and fun job being able to work with other designers and have a variety of work come in. I can't show most of the work I do as they're not released yet, but I've done my best to show you what a general day in the life looks like as a graphic designer. I see so many videos of freelancers and WFHers, but never any in-house agency videos, so I decided to make my own!
I hope you enjoy ✨😊

This makes me hate my corporate design job even more. I want this environment. It is so comforting seeing that this really does exist and somewhere designers are appreciated.
I am a graphic design, UI/UX design student froom Banglore, India. Appreciate your effort in making this video and thank you for showing how a day to day life works as a graphic designer. Now I can dream for working in such a beautiful enivirnment and in such a beautiful office with such an amazing colleagues. Thanks a ton.
Glad it was helpful! Good luck 😊
Bro I'm a graphic designer too in Delhi, India and being a graphic designer is not as easy as it seems in this video, atleast not in the company where I serves. Everyday is a fuckin exhausted day to me, they just squeezed you from every angle, not paid enough as we deserve. Not allowed to go until we finished our work. Colleagues are just like robots, no conversations, no fun, just complete the bloody work on time.
@@ashproeditz really!!!! then i should prepare myself for the worst man. I know things are gonna be little different here in india but didn't know its that bad. Lets see where life takes me. If that kinda things happens in a office job, then i would prefere as a freelancer i think.
I really enjoyed your video!! I am a baby graphic designer lol. I just finished school in October and graduate in June this year. I haven't done much with making some of the things you have in my own time but I for sure did them for school assignments. I like creating random things as well. Your video was very creative but in a simple way. I chuckled a few times which is nice. This gives me hope for what my future could look like when working for a company or agency. Definitely keep it up :)
Thank you for your kind words! Starting out in design can be tough at first when you’re learning the ropes but it is well worth it if you find a company or team that appreciates and respects you. Wish you all the best :)
Hello! I hope that you don't mind me asking this but is it really worth going to college if I want to be a graphic designer? I want to be a professional graphic designer and I want to do contract work for companies.
@@milanlockett9870 for companies they prefer people with a degree, for freelance you dont need a degree
@@mizzcrazygal Alright! Thank you for the tips!
Dude, this gives me hope. Today was my last day after finally quitting my awful design job I’ve had for the last two and a bit years. It was my first one out of school and it has sucked all the life out of me. Every designer who got hired with more experience than me left within two weeks.
I don’t have my next gig lined up yet, but this is the kind of environment I aspire to be in, and team I aspire to be a part of. Thanks for the good vibes and a little inspiration. It goes a long way right now. 😊
Wow! I actually was in a similar position. My first design job out of uni was with a nutrition supplement company and it was traumatizing. Would stay back every day working 10 hrs and work on weekends unpaid. My boss would yell at me that I’m not fast enough or the design looks terrible. Gave me so much anxiety every day about coming in to work. Thankfully the senior that joined with me helped me with a lot of skills and I improved, but eventually I quit because I couldn’t take it anymore. And I almost gave up Graphic Design altogether because I didn’t know if it was for me. BUT I didn’t give up hope and joined some other fun/less stressful jobs and eventually this agency job that I’m at now. I realised this is what a healthy workplace looked like, where you’re supported and can grow, without being verbally abused. Those days of learning was so hard. Good on you for quitting your awful job and having the hope to look elsewhere. Just remember your rights as a human being and keep it up! There will be a place for you where you’re appreciated and respected and you can improve every day ☺️
@@shoreseeker you should make video about this
@@shoreseeker Oh, the "not fast enough" curse - bosses thinking you can plan, design and start developing an entire web application in one working day, because for them code is most important, the rest is just "picking a bunch of colours" and you should start coding RIGHT AWAY. Ugh.
Great to see! I'm currently studying graphic design at Full Sail University online. Started my graphic design journey as a teen doing graphics for roleplaying forums haha been doing retail until i finally got sick of it and wanted to do something I loved. Loving it so far, and loved seeing this day in the life.
as a designer in a high paced environment, i struggle to believe this routine is even possible. a pipe dream.
My first job was very much like that, I was overworked and it wasn’t encouraged to have breaks even away from the computer. But I’ve worked in design jobs since then and found it really depends on the boss and their values. I worked in a surf company too and we could take breaks to watch surf competitions on tv. As long as the work was done it wasn’t a big issue and was part of the culture.
In this job we have been very busy the past couple of months, very fast paced and not much time to think, I wouldn’t of been able to film recently. But we still put value on having a break and having a walk mid afternoon to refresh our heads and keep the creativity going. It’s a shame that other business owners don’t support this same mindset but they’re definitely out there 🙂 at least where I live.
this was chill as ✨
thank you ☺️☺️
Thank you for sharing this! Do you have any tips for getting graphic design jobs with the same focus you have without a formal education/degree? It's not realistic/finacially responsible that I keep going to college but I really want to work in graphic design as thats what most of my highschool and college career have been focused on. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
Yup if you’re very passionate about your craft and have a good eye for design you can definitely get jobs without a degree. The work is what matters most. I have a friend who works for billabong (a huge Australian swimwear company) who got a job without a degree. He was just really good at making cool/trendy website banners and social media designs for fashion and swimwear, and he had some photography skills. It helps to have at least one job experience beforehand but you dont necessarily need a degree. :)
Here is also a graphic designer...and keep it up
I am in a relationship with a Graphic designer who looks very similar to the funny walk lady in your video. All jokes aside I love this video and you should definitely make more like it (hope this comment helps you increase your subscriber reach mate 😂).
Hahahhaaa thank you hopefully your comment alone gave me an extra 1k views so keep it up 🤣
keep do it,l love your video
How do I get into an agency as a designer with no degree but a great portfolio? I taught myself all the apps, moodboards, logos, themes, email marketing, brand identity, color pallets, the whole nine yards (which are all on my portfolio website I made so web design too lol) and I’ve never gotten a call back and I can’t even get into an entry level junior designer position 😭
Keep trying! The work speaks for itself most of the time. Sometimes the workplace is looking for a specific style or example of something you can do so you never know when they come across something they really like in your portfolio. Another idea that has worked for my friend is do sample work for them and attach it with your cover letter. My friend was fresh out of uni, she applied at a nutrition company selling health products, and I said they would mostly need you for making edms/email campaigns so you should do up an example for them with their branding. She did it and got the job! So there’s an idea if you think that would help. Good luck ☺️
hey mam, how you edit your videos.
With Adobe Premiere Pro 😊🤙
Hi is your husband a music artist and also a graphic designer
He's a music artist yes! 😊 but not a graphic designer
I'm 25 years old and have been struggling to find a career path that I'd love or would find at my level of calm. I used to spend hours designing covers for my wattpad books, so ik thats something I love to do. This lifestyle looks so peaceful. Now I'm seriously considering graphic design.
It’s a very creative industry, just need to find the right job. I’ve worked graphic design jobs that are terrible and soul sucking, but there’s also jobs like these where the boss wants to bring out your creativity, wants you to have fun, wants you to have mental breaks etc so you can be a more productive happy employee. Definitely try to find jobs that help you grow like these if you get into graphic design. Know your worth and good luck ☺️
@@shoreseeker I noticed a client asked for an "extreme" design, what did you do? Im an up and coming graphic designer an this personifies the insecurity I have with design. I wouldnt know how to make it "extreme"
I'm a Visual Communication Design "graphic designer" student from Burlington,VT. After Undergrad I will go and get my masters either for Graphic design or motion graphic. I love being a designers because I can two jobs which is so nice "normal weekday job" and "freelance on weekends"
"Extreme looking" is the most graphic design client phrase I've ever heard.
Edit: I am thinking I need to try to instigate an early afternoon walk break at my studio too 👀
I'm a freelancer and for all the reasons I want to work in a team, This video was so inspirational in many ways, I like how you make it pretty simple, I could relate to your coworker! Noooo! basically a very entertaining good video, Please keep posting, have a good day
Thank you I totally agree with you! I used to work as a freelancer but I really wanted to work as part of a team. It’s a lot funner and can learn from other people! Thanks for watching 😊
this is really cool to see, I'm a graphic design student in university and this is such great insight to agency work!
Man. As a truck driver looking for a change. This life looks so much better than mine 😅
Welcome my guy
The job isn't always this pleasant in the video. Depends on where you are. All you need to have is command over the application and soke creativity.😊
@@theaj2564 thanks for the insight! At this point in life I’m 27 working 70-80 hours a week for $15-1800 a week and I’m extremely burnt out. I used to love designing logos and editing call of duty videos way back in the day. I have a RUclips dedicated to it. But somehow I lost touch with my true self and ended up driving a truck and my excuse for that was “life happens”. It’s time for a change
@@tylerbtruckin I am an office worker and a teacher from a completely unrelated field, and I feel so relaxed just by watching this video. This is the environment I want to work in. Drawing is my main hobby and I've been drawing every day for the last 9 years, but have never made a portfolio. And I need to learn a lot. But this video gives me hope.
What I mean to say is, even if you have no related experience, if you have a passion and are interested in changing your life, it is always worth pursuing. I believe in you!
And I will try to do the same.
Very cool to watch, thank you! Im a graphic/web designer in South Africa and take on WAY too much work. So important to break your day up and do things that are good for you + eat healthy :) all the best
Yep it’s easy to become overworked! Good to break up your day 😊

I'm currently 17 years old and interested in taking a Graphic Design apprenticeship next year! I've been asked to craft up items and bake cakes from friends and family in the past with an assigned brief and have proven to show versatility in my designing/creative skills. After that I tried making logos and posters, and I was brilliant at it! I'm considering working for an In-house/ agency Graphic Design job some day! Should i go for it?
pretty girl, beautiful smile... lucky girl , you show us the office that everybody want to... very good video editing...
I think imma try working for an agency now coz it looks amazing... i have been a designer for 4 years and at this point I am not enjoying it ... maybe its coz im in toxic work environments....Ive been working in the printing industry and ive had enough of it...but this vid gamme hope that maybe a designig agency would do me better
Your work seems to be very peaceful, i wonder if there's a place for an artist like me who's proficient at designing cute characters. I really want to do this work but dont know which agency or company to go for
great video....literally m not a great designer as you are.... but your daily routine looks so satisfying specially with your collegues....❤❤❤❤
Thanks for sharing it! I'm a graphic designer in Japan, and now I am thinking of moving to Australia and looking for jobs there. I will appreciate you if you share your experience of how to get your designer's job right now!
I don't like working in a corporate job but your like your video
Why are all graphic designers good with video editing?
More videos like these...please and thank you. If you can share your process and sample works would be cool...its fascinating... I've been more in prepress design most of my life only doing branding as freelance...but I don't market myself too much so its cool to see your process...
Thank you! Definitely planning on uploading more day in a life’s and more videos focused on what we specifically work on in an agency. Thanks for watching ☺️
You inspired to me make a vid like this! I’m a graphic designer for a sport company in NY! I love ur style it’s similar to mine! Had fun watching someone also in my line of of work!❤
Yess I loved watching other peoples day in the life’s, especially in their workplace hence making my own. You should definitely make one!! ☺️😊
So you showed us your morning routine, and then you showed us a tiny bit of you talking to your coworkers and joking around, and then you didn’t show us your actual work that you did and then you skipped over to snacktime.
Because it's called a "Day in the life" and I can't show client's work that is not yet released :) On my other work DITL I go a bit more in depth on what jobs I encounter during a work day
Lol, in my country the normal is 8-6
So cool! Looks like a fun place to work 🥳🌸
It really is! Thank you 😊
25 here . With 7 years in the industry. After reading the comments. Am in my own situation that i think is bad but i dont know how bad other people’s are. So lesson i have learnt in everything is that “THE GRASS IS GREENER WHERE YOU WATERED IT “ I appreciate what i have and at . But i pray for better.
JESUS LOVES YOU ALL ❤
i am Muhammad Saqib and i am 18 years older & from Pakistan. I am a graphic designer with two years of experience using Adobe Illustrator. I am looking for a job in the UAE. I am a disabled boy with no hands and design with only three fingers

I find it hard to find these kind of videos! Everyone is a freelancer or a CEO or something these days - here’s to us normal people who thrive of a 9-5! ❤ Please do more videos 😊
I love that I get paid to color and design all day. Except I go kayaking instead of yoga, and maybe eat more red meat but pretty much the same. Your desk is way better than mine, really need to upgrade my ergonomics. Thanks for sharing.
are you in australia, can you tell me current scenario for job availabilities for graphic Designers in melbourne?
This is awesome I lied the idea of an agency over freelance but never saw people promoting or recommending it. If it’s not too personal or rude do you mind sharing your and your coworkers like average salary and your state?
It kind of reminds me of one of my first graphic design jobs at an agency. I work in a corporate in-house environment now from home for Lowe's.
Your commute is so short I'm so envious. I used to be a book cover designer in my last job but curious if I can do a full time design job.
Absolutely inspiring too see! Would love to see more of your process within the design world as I am slowly working my way there! Love your work/team dynamic! Have a lovely day!❤
Thank you! Will be uploading more agency day in a life’s and hopefully some videos on more of the work process too 😊
Your dinner is India's High Tea Snacks....
your workspace is so lovely💫
Thank you! ❤
I am graphic designer and t shirt designr i need job for remotely. You give me job
this is a dream job! really inspiring :)
What subjects do you have to take?
In school I had an ITC (information Communication Technology) class, which was the best help learning computer and design skills. As well as art class.
In university I did a Bachelor of Digital Media, with a major in Graphic Design. So there was a course specifically for learning graphic design skills in my chosen uni. Sometimes the bachelor might have a name with "Media" in it, but if you look into the majors and minor classes you can learn more on what a bachelor offers. Hope that helps!
@@shoreseeker Thank you for replying
im surprised people still use those salted lamps
Thank you for your video 😊 it is just so interesting to watch some video of someone living on the other side of a planet. And thinking in my mind: do you like your job or do you have a goal to do something else, so you do not need to sit so long hours at PC (I was also)….
Just so random questions coming in my mind. 😊
I am now trying to learn by myself some graphic design skills to use them for my ideas etc. (I love graphic design) with a goal to quit my job…
Thanks also for your Etsy video, - that’s how I found you 😊
it was nice to meet you!
Haha yes funnily enough I got into graphic design knowing I’ll be good at it but I want it as a stepping stone into my dream career (which actually changes every few years). I’m nearing the point of wanting to do something new, but have graphic design help me get there. I think it’s a great skill to have in this day and age, it’s super useful to a variety of businesses and clients, and can be done online too. I don’t want to talk too much about my plans right now but hopefully I’ll get there! You’re right, it’s hard doing a job like this for too long because it’s a lot of sitting at a computer indoors. I hope to change that or get more balance one day.
Good luck in what you decide to do and thanks so much for watching 😊
Do you need good drawing skills for graphic designing? I have okay skills but I'm opting for graphic designing will I be okay I wonder
Nope you don’t need to be able to draw :) I work with people that never do illustration. Usually can just hire someone to illustrate for you if you ever need it. But graphic designers are there to design, not be an illustrator. So don’t worry about that!
Nice to See you Dear's. Love From India
I've liked u more than the video itself. ❤️
wowwwwww.... Nicely put together.
cool video its really amazing!
It’s a pretty good life!! 🤩
We have it pretty good!! 😄
How long have you been a graphic…?
Do you want to be in this career for a long time? X
About 5-6 years since I’ve graduated university. I think I’ll always be a graphic designer but I may change up the type of work in the future. Would love to freelance and go travel sometime! ☺️
Very cool! Please share more of your vegan/plant based meals! Love your lifestyle 🥰🙏
Thank you will do! Glad to see people interested in plant based food ☺️💚
Tank you for your video! It makes me want to take a leap and go get a graphics designer degree that I have been thinking about for a while, only thing I am worried about is not being a good enough "Artist". Drawing with a pen and paper isnt my strongsuit but I do enjoy doing art. Perhaps its more my fear of failure holding me back and I'm just using my bad drawing skills as a validation for my fear. How good of an drawer do you have to be to be succesful in the field?
You don’t have to be a good drawer at all. We have illustrators specifically for that reason, and as a graphic designer you’re not expected to draw beautiful artworks or anything - only design 😊 Some people can do both but it’s not necessary to be a good graphic designer. It’s a great/very useful career to do. Good luck!
Must be nice, to have a dream job.
Wow :'D
That was cool. It's great that you show how you take care of your mind and body. Not doing so leads to burnout.
I'm a graphic designer too. And now I wish we had an aquarium in our office (I don't work there anymore).
Hahah an aquarium looks cool but unfortunately the fish don’t live for that long 😭😭
That is the best office I've ever seen in my life!
Ur friend walk is funny af :')))
I loved to see the fun working environment and i am assuming that you really enjoying it.

Hahaha it’s a great job! Thank you
@duckuy Thank you for this video.
I am wondering... Does each person work on independent projects or do you guys work on the same project separately but as a group?
Both! So one of the senior designers works as an accounts manager as well, she talks to all the clients and gets new jobs. Then she distributes the jobs between us all depending on our work level, skills, design style etc. When it’s a logo/branding project she might get 2-3 different people to do a concept each for 1 client. So multiple people work on the same project. But other jobs one person may work on the whole project start to finish. It really depends. Long term clients you end up being the point of contact if you work with them frequently, but short term clients it just gets dished out to whoever is the best fit and has the time to work with them. Hope that helps 😊
@@shoreseeker Thank you lots for taking the time out to reply. Very insightful!! 🙂🙏🏾

Such a cozy video! Thank you for sharing 🌸
Thank you for watching I appreciate it! ☺️🌈
How long did it take you to design comfortably on your own?
For me personally I worked as a freelancer and on my own as an in-house designer for 1-2 years out of uni. However I found it hard to think of ideas and I was pretty slow. When I started working in an agency amongst other senior designers, I would always work as part of a team and never by myself, which helped immensely build my skills and have less pressure. It wasn’t until 1-2 years later that I started finishing jobs by myself, and now 3-4 years in I’m managing big commercial clients by myself and doing campaigns from scratch by myself. So a big step up! Everyone is different but I hope this helps 😊
@@shoreseeker Awesome Thanks for the info
