Aw thanks so much! :) definitely sounds like it could be another Honda head unit thing for sure! I’d try only having five photos on the usb flash drive (since I think that’s the limit the head unit can handle) I’d also try to ensure the photos are of a compatible size (maybe try 1664 x 936 with 72 resolution). Might be worth resetting the head unit to factory settings too just to see! I would also try a different usb port and maybe only have photos on one of the flash drives and music on another! ☺️ Let me know if this works ❤️
@@ThatCarEnthuZiastBrittany that’s exactly what I had to do was factory reset & booomm my images came up. But I think the reason was because I had that Honda hack app installed. I tried all this with a 2024 Honda City. The USB indicator on the screen wasn't lighting up, but if I put the pen drive in the USB slot with the phone link icon on it, it shows the USB logo at the top of the display (but it still won't open). I found that the only way to get the Infotainment system to recognice the USB stick was to disconnect Wi-Fi on the phone! Then it will see it, and it will work.

@@ThatCarEnthuZiastBrittany It's a brand new car. I'll consult Honda as to why it won't play music from the stick when the phone is connected to Android Auto.

Plugging in my Android phone to the port I get 'charging slowly' but it never actually charges. Plugging in an iPhone doesn't seem to charge at all. Any suggestions?
Hey Rick! It sounds to me like there could be something wrong with the Hondas actual usb port itself as it’s having an issue with the flash drive and multiple phones! I’d show Honda a video of what it’s doing when you plug in multiple devices to see if they have a fix! They might need to potentially update the radios firmware or see if there’s some sort of electrical issue going on with that port! I sure hope you get it figured out soon as I know how frustrating it can be!
I am now having the same problem with my '18 civic. The have several other flash drives that work fine recording from many other CD's. It seems to me this CD is formatted different. BTW, I bought this CD years ago and have recorded and played it in several of my other vehicles. For some reason the Honda just wont read the songs from this CD.
Hey there! Do you have the particular song in an iTunes library? It could very well be that the particular song isn’t in an MP3 or WAV format! I’d use either iTunes built in converter or a free converter to covert the song to an MP3 format that’s compatible with the head unit :)
I read elsewhere that the filename length can be an issue - the system won't play the song if the name has too many characters (sorry I can't remember the acceptable length). Use your computer and shorten the name and see if it works.
so I tried and tried to do it exactly like you have in the video but it didn't work until I fat32 partitioned the thumb drive THEN loaded the music on the drive. Then it worked. I couldn't figure out why it kept saying no data but was reading the thumb drive after I partitioned the loaded drive.

Hi Jenny! It sounds like an issue with the USB port on the Honda Fit. I’d try reformatting the USB itself to see if that’ll do the trick or reset the radio to factory default settings! I hope that helps!
This is a terrific video. Great work. I thought this might fix my intermittent problem with my 2019 Acura RDX. I have all my CD's on flash drives. I was having problems 25% of the time when the flash drive was in the USB port, but I got the message "no device connected" when it may have been playing just fine the last time I was driving the car. So I checked two different flash drives with the same content. I have had trouble with both. One was a 32GB drive and one was the same 128 GB SanDisk that you used for this video. After downloading the AOMEI software, I checked both drives. No surprise the 32 GB was formatted to FAT32. However, the 128GB drive was also formatted to FAT32. I will try a different 32GB drive than I have been using, but now I fear that I have other issues. Had the car at dealer today with the original 32GB and they could not find any problem. Any suggestions?
Hey Steve :) thanks so much for your kindness! If I were you, I’d manually reformat the drives to FAT32 to ensure that’s the format they’re truly in, reason being typically a flash drive that’s 32GB or less will have FAT32 as the default format, whereas anything over that will be formatted by default to exFat or NTFS (lots are defaulted in NTFS now) I hope this helps :) try that and let me know what happens!
Had the same issue you mentioned. I believe your phone charges or that san disk indicator turns red when plugged in but hits you with a no device connected message. Make sure the partition scheme is Basic MBR instead of GPT (You'll see this in 4:27, had to look at all the details). Multiple ways to do it if you look in the internet. I tried using command prompt to do so but that required additional changes to my laptop I'd need to make so I an app named Rufus (it's a third party app so use it at your own risk). Hope it helps :)
I’d try to reformat the usb drive and then see if it works :) also also, if you have another USB flash drive, you can always try to test it to make sure it’s not the actual port acting up!
my smartphone usb port on my Honda civic RS 2016 always claims theres an error with my connected USB device (my phone) and im wondering if its due to my phones size being larger than 32gb? the settings on the phone are all set up, its just the silly honda infotainment that keeps deciding theres an error.
Probably another silly Honda head unit thing! I wouldn’t think it’s the size per-say since it’s not like all of your phones contents are trying to upload to the head unit (only music/pictures/ect). If you have an iPhone, I’d make sure the iOS is up to date and maybe try to download just one song from iTunes on your phone and then hopefully the rest of the mp3s will show up! I’ve heard of that being a way to fix it when it comes to the iPhone and the Honda head unit. I’ve typically only ever played music through my usb via a flash drive or with pandora as I don’t keep any music on my actual phone lol.
Hey Chris! Good question! I’ve never hooked up my phone to play media on this car and unfortunately I don’t have the civic anymore so I can’t tinker with it to show you 😢. I’d ensure you use an actual lightning cable! Don’t use the one that comes with your phone! My iPhone never seemed to connect with the Apple phone cord, I had to buy an aftermarket lightning cable at Fred meyers for it to be able to register that the phone was indeed plugged in and connected!
That’s gotta be super frustrating for sure! Maybe try a different usb port and reset your head unit to factory settings along with ensuring your phone is running the latest software version:)
@@ThatCarEnthuZiastBrittany yeah the Bluetooth works fine , but instead of showing the cover art for my albums it shows the Bluetooth logo , so it’s not that big of a deal
I only mentioned this because sometimes the Apple CarPlay will no longer work unless you have a very specific lightening cable that’s not the stock one! :)
There’s a couple things you can try, first make sure the Bluetooth audio on your phone isn’t muted, secondly I’d go into your Bluetooth settings, then paired devices, from there you can turn on/off HD audio. Lastly I’d try unpairing your phone and repairing it to Bluetooth, power off both the head unit and the phone to do a hard reset :) that might help!
@@jamesledesma it very well could be the cable you’re using to charge the phone with! The same thing happened to me and I had to go to Fred Meyer’s to get a aftermarket charging cord for my iPhone and then it worked ☺️
Have you tried using a different lightening cable or car charger? Could very well be the voltage of the charger or something! Mine would charge super slowly too, typically would only charge my phone when going on super long trips. Seems that the power is nothing like when plugging the phone into the charger of an actual wall at home!
@@ThatCarEnthuZiastBrittany mu car doesn't have a cigar thing it just has a USb already built in for cord and yes I tried to switch it out still same charge
Are you using a “lightening cable”? My Honda did this initially as well with the standard usb charging cable that came with the phone, I had to go to Fred Meyer and get a different cable, I know I used a pink one and it finally worked! :)
hello dear I have a USB FAT32 from the factory 24gb and when I connect to see the gallery it tells me that there are no photos and videos and I don't know what to do I've been trying to see what the problem is for 2 months I have done everything to change the images from jpg to png and nothing you know that could make a greeting
I’d see if you’d be able to get a conversion software in order to convert the photos, maybe even change the format of the USB by reformatting it! :) maybe convert it to exFAT and if that doesn’t work, I’d convert the photos from jpg to png via software like Picasa or something of that sort!
@@sherylpostman5336 sorry, I was thinking of the head unit in my past vehicle instead, you have to click the power button in the upper left corner, that’s the only way to stop the audio, so dumb why Honda made it like this! @@ThatCarEnthuZiastBrittany Okay. Thanks for the response...it's basically just the on/off button. @@Joshwiththehoodie Hey Josh that’s a great question! I’m sorry you’re frustrated with Honda! This is the only fix I’ve personally found and tested which has worked for me. Is there anything I can help you with?
@renniulerio4154 great question! Unfortunately this won’t change the outcome of your cable if it’s the actual cable itself that’s having the issue! I’d recommend getting a new cable!
Hey there! I’m sorry to hear it’s having an issue, did you try putting the music into a root folder? I’d always ensure there was only like 100 songs max per actual folder just to ensure it was able to fully read everything with no problems! What brand of flash drive are you using?
2020 Civic Message: Please connect a device into your USB port I had a good USB memory plugged in. I removed the audio fuse, started the car, turned off the car, replaced the fuse, and started the car. Everything was back to normal. It did take a extra moment for the USB to be recognized

@@ThatCarEnthuZiastBrittany yeah the Bluetooth works fine , but instead of showing the cover art for my albums it shows the Bluetooth logo , so it’s not that big of a deal
@@chrisxwavyah I see! Definitely a radio thing for sure! At least it’s playing the music 😊
Quick question, am trying to update my Navigation on my Honda Pilot 2019 but is not detecting my USB . Anything I need to to ?
I’d try to reformat the USB and see if that works! 😊
What does the flash drive have to do with connecting your phone to usb?
I only mentioned this because sometimes the Apple CarPlay will no longer work unless you have a very specific lightening cable that’s not the stock one! :)
I have a Honda Civic 2014 EX and it connects Bluetooth to my iPhone but I can’t hear anything. Do you know what to do. Thank you.
@@ThatCarEnthuZiastBrittany thank you I’ll try that.
just want to say i love you it works
Haha! Happy it worked for you 😊
@@ThatCarEnthuZiastBrittany i love you

I was trying to plug iPhone charger to charge phone but it says not supported. Can't get a charge
@@jamesledesma it very well could be the cable you’re using to charge the phone with! The same thing happened to me and I had to go to Fred Meyer’s to get a aftermarket charging cord for my iPhone and then it worked ☺️
@@ThatCarEnthuZiastBrittany thanks it works I would not have thought of it.
thx this video help a lot
You’re so welcome! :) happy I was able to help you fix the issue!
Why doesn't my car charger on 2020 crv hybrid charge fast? it stays at 1% for 10min...?
Have you tried using a different lightening cable or car charger? Could very well be the voltage of the charger or something! Mine would charge super slowly too, typically would only charge my phone when going on super long trips. Seems that the power is nothing like when plugging the phone into the charger of an actual wall at home!
@@ThatCarEnthuZiastBrittany mu car doesn't have a cigar thing it just has a USb already built in for cord and yes I tried to switch it out still same charge
When I plug in my Apple cable to my 2018 CRV - “No Device Connected.” What am I doing wrong?
Seems to work fine, but is there any way to pause or stop the music for some time?
You can pause it within the head unit itself but not via the steering wheel
@@ThatCarEnthuZiastBrittany Within the head unit itself...how? I don't see a stop or pause button on the screen (yours above or mine).
@@sherylpostman5336 sorry, I was thinking of the head unit in my past vehicle instead, you have to click the power button in the upper left corner, that’s the only way to stop the audio, so dumb why Honda made it like this! My 370Z is the same way! No mute button, only a power button for the radio itself!
@@ThatCarEnthuZiastBrittany Okay. Thanks for the response...it's basically just the on/off button. BTW, any chance you know how to use the car stereo to play music from my android phone using the USB C cord and not Android Auto? Oh, and my car is the 2016 Honda Accord V6. Your method, though, is excellent.
@@sherylpostman5336aw thanks Sheryl :) I’m just now seeing your comment! For some odd reason, RUclips does not always notify me of comments that I get, did you ever get this to work? :)
I have a usb 8 or 16 gb not sure but it was working fine and just one day say that not device what I can do?
Great question! I’d reformat the drive on your computer to see if that fixes it and then follow the steps in my video 😊

Hello everyone, I am having some issue hopefully someone can help!. I have the same stick as in the video above with the fat32 file like Brittany says, things were working great until i updated the usb stick. my computer can see 1300 song but my car only shows me 300... I dont know why it did this... any thoughts?
I’d try to maybe see about rebooting your actual head unit if you can :)
@Brittany thank you Brittany I will try that
@@darewin1300hope you got it to work! 😊
Brittany, you are the best!
Aw thanks so much! :) happy I could help you solve this!
@@ThatCarEnthuZiastBrittany I have this problem but it’s Bluetooth what I do it say it connected but the car says it isn’t
@@Joshwiththehoodie Hey Josh that’s a great question! What I would do is I would delete the Bluetooth device completely and restart the pairing process over as if it’s a new device 😊 let me know how that goes! You’ll also want to make sure if you have an iPhone and are trying to use Apple CarPlay that you have the phone actually plugged into a lightning cable via USB!
What causes this? I have operated a 2017 CRV for 2 years and now this is happening.
It’s an issue with the firmware not recognizing the format of the flash drive, dang Hondas always do this!
Thanks...Its working...👍👍👍👍
Yay! So happy to hear that 😊
USB device is connected after convert into FAT32 format from NTFS Thank you
Awesome! :) so glad this worked for you! You’re very welcome!
ayyyy we doing it
Happy I helped :)
Does it work for 16gb?
Yes :)
Do you think would work on my Honda crv 2023🤔
I’m so confused now and more frustrated. 😢
I’m sorry you’re frustrated with Honda! This is the only fix I’ve personally found and tested which has worked for me. Is there anything I can help you with?
@@ThatCarEnthuZiastBrittanyhi! My problem is with my usb cable, can this trick help with that?
@renniulerio4154 great question! Unfortunately this won’t change the outcome of your cable if it’s the actual cable itself that’s having the issue! I’d recommend getting a new cable!
My drive is FAT 32 But I don't have anything when I plug in
Hey there! I’m sorry to hear it’s having an issue, did you try putting the music into a root folder? I’d always ensure there was only like 100 songs max per actual folder just to ensure it was able to fully read everything with no problems! What brand of flash drive are you using?
2020 Civic
Message: Please connect a device into your USB port
I had a good USB memory plugged in.
I removed the audio fuse, started the car, turned off the car, replaced the fuse, and started the car. Everything was back to normal. It did take a extra moment for the USB to be recognized
Sorry you had to go through all of the trouble with that! Glad it’s working though now :)
Hello , Which fuse did u remove for the Audio?
I should add, I have no such issues playing either flash drive on my Harley or my BMW auto.
Definitely sounds like an issue with the interface in the Acura!
I have the same error when I connect my lg phone into 2019 Mitsubishi mirage.
This should hopefully correct the issue!
This is a Honda Video. LOL search for Mitsubishi :( people
I have the right one & Apple CarPlay still isn’t working…😩🤦🏽♀️
Unfortunately I had the very same issue with both of my civics, I took it to the dealership numerous times and was told that Honda is still waiting on releasing a new firmware in order to get it updated. It was so frustrating! 😭
it's works thanks

ONLY if my Accord didn't have SO MUCH TECHNOLOGY so I could, put in my Pioneer Multimedia DVD Navigation radio (grunt)
How do you like the aftermarket head unit? :)
@@ThatCarEnthuZiastBrittany - What I mentioned in my comment was - If Honda didn't put in a camera in the car/the sensors and navigation then I could put in my own radio. My car that's messed up is a Nissan Maxima 2007 - In there I have a complete theater - Infinity speakers and tweeters and Alpine Subs and the Pioneer would play MP3/DVD/Converted RUclips music videos and movies. The Honda has lots of safety - we get it. I'll have to remove all my after market stereo stuff from the Nissan and get a older car for the future to install it in :(
@@cobrakainevereverdies6940 oh that’s makes sense! My civic had none of that lol so that’s why I was a bit confused :)
@@ThatCarEnthuZiastBrittany - Just a random thing. I stuck 2 usb drives inside my 2016 accord and 1 said not supported, the other said NO data. I did format the USB to FAT 32 thru Windows 10. Neither worked. If the software you mentioned does the trick, beautiful. If NOT........I'm gonna be a AXXXhole big time and take out the Computer Radio inside the car and put in my own stuff and I won't miss all "safety features" = This car has ALOT of safety features
Nice video BUT……there’s another way that will take you less than a minute to fix the USB error. I’m not gonna tell you yet what it is. I just wanna know if you what that other wayI’m talking about.
I don’t have this car anymore so I can’t do anymore troubleshooting with it lol you should make a video on your way 😊
uh why? you could help others in the comments if this way doesn’t work for them. annoying
@@gocrazyahhgostupid9208 LOL! Ok just for you, I’ll tell. So I have a 2019 civic with that USB problem. What you do is press the audio power button until the screen will say “Reboot?” Touch yes, give it a minute, and there you go. This will also solve other problems like if the touch screen goes wanky or if the Bluetooth is connected but cutting off etc.
Mmm 💌
The download is free, but actually using the program costs a subscription. That's a little deceptive.
It’s actually not deceptive as it was 100% free when I made the video! Times have definitely changed though! Nothing is free anymore! I didn’t pay a penny for this fix.
My Civic isn't recognizing my Smartphone.
I’d make sure your iOS is up to date and would see about replacing the lightning cable, very well could be an issue with the type of cable.
It was the cable, i was using a charging cable , i switched to a charging and data cable yday.
@@junesondrab3833there is a difference?? Maybe that's my issue ugh. Trying everything before the trip to service :^/
