When I was 18, my Grandparents lived down the street from Brian. He had just moved in and my Grandma told me a rock star built a house down the street. I walked over, the gate was open and knocked on the door. Brian opened the door and I almost pissed my pants. I told him my Grandparents live down the street and I was visiting them from Chicago and he walked me around his house and signed an autograph for me which I framed and still have on my wall almost 25 years later. The man is an absolute gentleman and legend.
Brian Johnson also seemed like AC/DC was his life's ultimate experience that everyone would want... only, to later learn that AC/DC was hard on his mental health sending him into a depressive state. This might explain why they basically went into retirement after 1991. You were lucky to hear so etching new from them maybe every 5 to 8 yeara
It's probably not the case, but Johnson always seems like the kind of guy who's never had a down day. Always energized, always smiling, happy to meet anybody. If he had any interest in politics (and met the citizenship requirement), I'd vote for him for President just so he could kick some of the negative shit to the corner.
Met Brian about a 1yr and half ago . I saw him out in public in Sarasota Florida, & it wasn't any kind of event or anything i literally got lucky and saw him out & about . They say never meet the celebrities you are fans of because they may be jerks , but i just had to talk to him even if he blew me off or ended up being a huge jerk . Well I'm happy to say i have never met a nicer more friendly, polite person in my life . He was extremely kind , down to earth , & very humble . He talked to me & treated me as if we have known each other for years. I was just blown away by his kindness .
That's fab I love both angus and brian they are the best when they meet people i knew of people who have met them in person and they never had a bad word to say about them they are so humble kind thoughtful and just genuine people all year round. Very very lovely people not once big headed or full of ego like most bands these days very very nice treat people with respect and dignity. I knew of someone who got invited to Brian's house party in mid 1980s before he moved to america he was so kind and made sure everyone he got chatted to made them something to eat and drink ordered a taxi home for everyone and paid for their taxis to. Brian was such a sweet heart to everyone
The drum teacher at the place that I’m taking guitar lessons got invited to a party at his house like a year after he had to leave AC/DC and said that he was extremely nice
My one and only time of meeting Brian was when I was 22 and went down to be part of the Thunderstruck music video filming. I was near the front. I think it was 1992 or 1990. There were only about 300 of us in the Brixton Academy and they built a special wall for people to stand in to make it look bigger. Everyone got a bag with an apple, a drink and a sandwich in it lol. But best of all we all got a tshirt to wear with ‘I was thunderstruck. Ac/cd. 1990 on it. I’ve still got it nearly 40 years later. Anyway after the filming we hung around and Angus and Brian talked to us for about 30 mins. Absolute legends. You often see people who get rich and don’t deserve it… well these guys do… fantastic to know they are such nice superstars ❤️
It’s because of Maximum overdrive that I got familiar with ACDC as a kid . Last Friday I went to their concert in Germany 28 years after watching that movie for the first time .
It it is amazing how down to earth some of these rock guys are. A hat tip to Bobby Sarzo. Years ago, my ten year old tells me that he has found a guitar he wants but it's pretty expensive. I said how much is it? he said $1000 and dad you still are willing to pay half....and I pay half? I said yes, assuming the kid was hundreds of dollars short from his half. I learned right there that my kid had inherited my negotiating skills as my son said "well then can we go tomorrow it's a long drive but he can meet with us tomorrow." I was dumbfounded. I said, "you mean you have your 500 ready? he said yes I've been saving my birthday money and my Christmas money and I'm ready. so the next day off we go and we pull into this nice house and as I'm walking up I see a lot of security cameras and I'm wondering what this guy has inside. We knock on the door and a nice guy with long hair and a big smile opens the door and introduces himself and says hello. After he said his name I said you must be Rudy's brother .....he said I sure am. We go in the house and my kid is playing this beautiful guitar and my son is kind of playing it gingerly because bobby it's plugged into a pretty big amp much bigger than the one we have at home. Eventually Bobby says, "I remember the first time guitar and you want to make sure it's really for you and he takes the guitar from my son and he proceeds to just rip it for five minutes. Boy could he play. Both my son and myself had our jaws on the floor and after that my son goes back to playing on the guitar and we were there for probably 90 minutes and Bobby says, " I have to leave in about 30 minutes" and so I'm hurrying my son along to make a decision and I will never forget what Bobby said "no no don't hurry him let him take all the time he needs. I remember sitting in a guitar shop all day before I bought my first guitar..... if I have to leave I'll leave you the keys and you can lock it up and either take the guitar and leave the money or just leave the guitar." and I was stunned of course so I said are you sure you're OK with that and he said "why ? Are you and your son are in the burglary business?.... so I think I'll be OK". and he laughed. As it turned out my son was good to go about 15 minutes later we bought a beautiful guitar with a beautiful guitar case with hot pink lining and we got to see some of his collection which was just incredible at the time. It was a great day i will always remember. Thank you Bobby Sarzo for being so kind to my son."
Used to go and see Brian at the Mayfair in 'the Toon' ( Newcastle) when he was in the band 'Geordie'.... Down at Whitley Bay too ... Lovely lad ... Never changed ...
Exactly. People forget that Bon Scott actually discovered Brian Johnson when he was playing with Geordie, his old band, and he loved his style. So say what you will, but I like Dirty Deeds as much as I like Back in Black. It's one of the very few exceptions where there actually WAS a very good replacement for the band. Sort of like Dickinson replacing DiAnno in Maiden, except Dickinson was MILES better than DiAnno.
Amazing guy very very sweet and genuine I knew of people who met him and he made them very welcomed and just talked about cars . He is a type of guy who I would love to have a pint of beer with. I would love to meet him one day no one ever got a bad word to say about him at all ❤❤❤
He put a windscreen in my custom truck, charged me a fiver..........not long after he got the magic phone call....... the rest is history, met him in NZ about 18 years later.....he was just the same, champion bloke...

I saw Bon with them. I love um both however I think Bon would not kept them at the top he partied to much. Sad he didn't live to see they was so close to being bigger than the stones.
In my personal opinion Brian is better than Scott.. hopefully everyone can agree that at the very least he was a fantastic replacement and did so much for the band. That gritty voice is what I associate with rock
kaikuson in my opinion one isn't better than the other. They are both great in their own right. Johnson admits singing Scott's songs is a difficult task. I think Scott would have trouble singing Johnsons songs. So all in all they both had/have their own strengths that make them great.
kaikuson there would be no Brian if it weren't for the Bomb I mean the Bon he suggested to malcom if he was ever gunnar quit that Brian would be a good replacement for him but as for lighting bolt in the middle of the AC & DC in his own words will always be bon Scott & millions of others av the same opinion🤘
I love it when guys who have the coin.....buy they stuff we all want....jay leno is the king, because he drives them....like we all would! Some russian kids are going to be stoked!
@londonlove1212 I think it's because the Young brothers move to Australia and AC/DC started in Australia. I think Phil Rudd was born in Australia but the others where mainly from Scotland and England I think. Either way AC/DC rock.
Thing is if bon Scott had still been around would ACDC still have been going strong for over 35 years? Bon Scott was obviously known for his heavy boozing,

Don't stop now. Keep going, you're on a roll.
The more of Brian Johnson I see, the more I like him. He really seems down to earth.
Brian Johnson seem like the kind of guy I would just sit and have a cold beer with.
Um...
Better be ready to throw back about 15 Henikinens
So I guess u could sit with every Geordie then because most Geordies are nice people.

He deserves every Penney he earned.
Brian seems like one of the more approachable rock stars. Never an ego, always a laugh and always seems in a great mood.
ONE OF THE COOLEST GUY ON EARTH!!! THIS GEORDIE GUY, HUMBLE AND FRIENDLY!!!!!!!!

Too bad he won’t be back. Because he was one hell of a singer. And he still is. Let’s hope that AC/DC will become a ACDC again.

Apparently RUclips's auto generated captions can't understand a Geordie accent well. Put it on. It's amusing.
"The film didnt do to well , but the music was good". LOL true. Cult classic for sure a lot of people like the wacky Kings Maximum Overdrive.

..I would love to know why he has a Notts Forest framed shirt?
Because he's a mate of ex-Forest captain John McGovern. And that's the shirt he wore when he lifted the European Cup in 1980.
