_"You lied to your men and betrayed the mercenaries who fought for you. What's happening to you, Arthas? Is vengeance all that's important to you?"_ _"Spare me, Muradin. I advise you to eat more bread."_
Arthas, the tactician, fails to destroy the ships so his men escape unharmed Lich King be like "Okay, this one might be passable... What do you mean my forces killed him again???"
Captain: "Quick, get aboard, Prince Arthas! We can still escape!" Arthas: "Escape!? How dare you tell me to escape! Burn the ships! I will not tolerate desertion in my ranks!"
Ironically, we're taking the role as the heroes on this chapter: -) By killing the mercenaries as the Scourge, we spare them from the fate of being betrayed by Arthas; -) As for the Alliance, Falric just saved the lives of his men from a cruel and cold demise. Awaiting the next chapter where a heroic Revenant save Arthas' men from Arthas himself, which also save Azeroth from the wrath of future Lich King.
*Lordaeron Forces hearing the Prince that kill the entire popilation of a city with an obession of killing a green vampire that he chased him to basically antartica and even dare to sell his soul to a blade and then got controlled by the mastermind of the dead just so he can save his people even though he was doing the exact opposite* : Must've been the wind
To be fair, even if the men suspected that Arthas was behind it, what were they going to do? Do some semi-regicide and then be stuck without solid leadership and a powerful paladin in the cold continent? Burning the ships/bridges/etc is a valid tactic that many quite ambitious and propably psychopathic conquerors have done in the past. Similiar to positioning your men with their backs against a mountain or a body of water. No way to escape except through the enemy. Works or you get beheaded and your head presented as a trophy to the enemy, but with the undead this propably isn't going to work.
Arthas suffered a true humiliation conga in those missions. Can't wait to see his sorry ass get handed by other various factions next campaign as Death Knight.
Arthas: *abandoned by his forces who returned to their ships and sailed back to Lordaeron* Lich King Ner'zhul: "Oh well, at least Arthas will be more vulnerable and desperate to take Frostmourne, becoming my new champion and future vessel."
Tempted to imagine the interaction between the captain and Arthas. Captain: Milord, there you are. You and Muradin are the last ones remaining, the rest of the men have boarded. Arthas: What?! Our work here isn't done! Get everyone off the ships and back to our base. Captain: But the King's orders- Arthas: I am your future king! And as such, I order you to- Captain: But sire- Zepplin arrives and drops Emissary Emissary: There is a second part to the edict. For our king's sake, I was hoping it would not come to this, but the prince's actions this day have left me no choice: by my authority as royal emissary bestowed unto me to deliver this edict, I have to declare Prince Arthas unfit for command. Arthas: What did you just say?! Emissary: I would have preferred not to say anything, but scout reports from earlier today have forced my hand. Captain: Scout reports? Emissary: My men reported that the Prince hired mercenaries and has been sinking your ships. The attacks started not long after my original visit, and it is too well-timed to be a coincidence. Arthas: We are not leaving these shores until our job is done. Captain: Milord... you were sinking our ships? I can't take orders from you, prince or otherwise. The men and I are returning home in compliance with your father's orders. If you still intend on pursuing this mission, you will do so on your own. Arthas: Cowards, all of you, for abandoning your duty!
This kinda makes me wonder: is there a version of the next mission where, upon reaching Frostmourne, Arthas heeds Muradin's warning and leaves the sword be? Maybe I'm just in the mood for less of a downer ending to that mission, but I'm tempted to imagine that once Arthas and Muradin return, they end up fighting Mal'Ganis and killing him the old-fashioned way, even if (just for sake of keeping things somewhat balanced) the undead end up killing most of the combined Alliance army. Maybe Mal'Ganis was counting on Arthas being alone when he came to Northrend, but now the dwarven expedition has provided just enough manpower to tip the scales against the dreadlord. And as for the actual duel, again Mal'Ganis' miscalculation means that instead of fighting Arthas alone (without Frostmourne, it would probably go in the Dreadlord's favor), he gets double-teamed by him and Muradin. After that, when the Alliance gets home, Arthas likely gets chewed out by King Terenas and Uther for getting so much of their army killed, but the blow is softened somewhat by news of the rescued Dwarven expedition (especially Muradin, who iirc was brother to the dwarven king). The scourge has been stopped... for now.
I watched the video without putting much attention to the start, and by the time Arthas walked past the zigurat canyon I thought: "Would be funny if you could play as the human base and spam workers to demolish the forest" Was not disappointed .
Darn! This Alliance vs tree vs undead gameplay was really cool! Would be awesome to see in original campaign as well, like people aren't simple doing the logging work! There is an action at their camp! Even though most probably the player would not notice or care, still an awesome detail! Thanks for the video!
I remember failing this mission as a kid and getting defeat cut-scene where Captain and other soldiers celebraty and be like: "We can finally go home!" And I was like "how is this a bad thing or defeat?"
They don't know that yet and Arthas pins the blame on the mercenaries he hired as the ones that burned the ships But in this instance they get to the ships before Arthas and are aware if he tries burning them so he can't
Bit of an odd tactic, but might propably work in some of these "no build missions". Unholy Frenzying the enemy forces when they are just about to kill the necromancer. If the downtime between two battles is going to be around the duration of the buff, it will net you free 90 to 180 (depending if the map uses original 4 dps or current 2dps UF) damage on the unit. Not to mention draining healer mana. I wonder if the hard difficulty change for the Alliance one is just giving the Abominations Disease Cloud. *Hearthglen flashback of priests just healing each other with 0 mana when an assault arrives*
Man, seing the captain being a semi-heroe, is just, i don't know, like a warm to my childhood, i was never making a mission or finish it if the captain die, he is just the UNIT, he is the main lad, and of course, he is the true heroe, fighting the hordes of undeads, orcs, critters from the woods AND knowing when a thing was just to far, my poor captain, one of the true good guys from the warcraft III francish, knowing arthas end up not only killing this captain, but, he also search to kill the other captain to turn them on powerfull death knights is bot badass and sad, imagine after crossing hell, the one you follow and always see as you king, betray you to show you for now, you was just a pawn
The Lych King: "Could you stop killing Arthas already? I'm trying to make him into my champion here!" The Scurge: "Sorry, boss. But, why do you even bother with this loser, honestly? He's, like, failed everything!"
Meanwhile, on StarCraft Reign of the Void Reversed… Either the Zerg defeat Kerrigan, Montag, and the mercenaries they hired from Mira Han before they can destroy the Battlecruisers. Or her forces successfully mine their way through the mineral line while holding off the Swarm before she reaches the last Battlecruiser.
So it seems like you can not build workshop and train mortar teams (or build cannon tower) in the alliance scenario? Those could be a quick kill for those trees. Also I think you can let the peasants just "attack" the trees (but not "harvest", so no need to return for the resorces), and maybe it can be faster too?
I'm curious about the UI. I don't remember seeing this much green in the undead interface. Would it also have been more suitable to use the human UI for the "escape" portion of this mission?
Propably impossible to have the UI change outside of making the undead mission and the human missions two separate ones, instead of having the split be decided at the start. You can't afterall mid-game change the faction you are playing, UI and Voice Over wise, that is.

Whats the reference?
Not the bread ... Again 😂
Narrator: *Muradin didn't eat enough bread and perished in the cold. Atleast, that is what Arthas told his men.*
@@CardboardBoxGod In the Stratholme reversed mission, a cultist plagues the grain and tells villagers, "I advise you to eat more bread"
1:10 Arthas: *loudly proclaims his intent to burn the ships*
Lordaeron Forces nearby: "It must have been the wind."
Only two mortar team near by
the Howling winds of Lordaeron worked as a shield from it all.
Dwarven Scout: Alarm! Hordes of undead are rushing towards our camp!
Captain: Huh, maybe I should've kept guards at their posts.
At least the Forces of Lordaeron are coming home and Arthas will have to make do with an army of Mercenaries on Northrend.
Of course the Alliance version wouldn't only be cutting down trees.
This map brought to you by our sponsor, Uther's Cruises. Uther's Cruises: When you're not my king yet, boy!
Arthas: Don't call me boy, I'm THE MAN!

"Sir, the scout has been killed."
"That's sad."
"Oh no!"
"Anyways..."
its giving wendy williams:“oh she passed away?.. AwwAww.. ummnmmh"
2:55 The hardest part of this mission is to find a way for these stupid skeletons to join the fight.
Captain: "Quick, get aboard, Prince Arthas! We can still escape!"
Arthas: "Escape!? How dare you tell me to escape! Burn the ships! I will not tolerate desertion in my ranks!"
Captain : milord? do u forgot how many cannons we put on our ship?
EAT LEAD SIR!!
Considering their base is already swamp with undead the last mins I would say this reaction is understandable lmao 😂

Don't edit your comment or you will the heart.
"The entire fleet must be purged!"
Beautiful goblin explosion effect you got there.
This is the happy ending for alliance campaign
Amusing. Arthassadar, your taste in failing to burn down the ships and allow your men to escape from Northrend grows ever more inexplicable.
I can only imagine Arthas' face after he finds out he is too late... again (after Stratholme).
Oh I watched this yesterday on a different channel, but nice to rewatch it again now!
I wonder on which...
I was hoping for a peaceful mission about gathering wood.

And what will Uther do with these troops? Stand in one place looking handsome while they all ignore the suffering of the people?
Ok, Arthas
"The troops are on an impossible mission that may cost their lives? Well first, let me heroically pose for a while... And then eat some bread."
he should have returned home.

No man, at hard undeads straight up get 4-4 upgrades for their army. The dev made hard difficulty worth it's name.
Finally, a good ending!
Arthas fails to get Frostmourne.
Will Arthas get his favorite sword or not?..
This...Captain is over-competent.

by the way, you can speedrun this mission with Alliance. you just need to speed build cannon tower near the trees and use it to blow the trees up.
**Golden Ending**
Imagine an undead Tuskarr raid boss in WoW Icecrown if Arthas had lost most/all of his men and converted what was left.

Dang they actually use strats for this

Oooooooor build a cannon tower near the trees at falric's base and just shoot your way through the tree's x)
Imagine if you could choose which side to Play in the missions. 😂
7:18 WAT
12:23 Me on Monday
real shame that ai controlled arthas isn't really using his mana
¿Just playable in Reforged?
Couldn't you build towers as the humans? You had plenty of wood, might have made the defense a whole lot easier with a ton of towers
Yea probably, but I didn't need it anyway. At least it wasn't neccessary to do in normal difficulty
Bro are you modifying these missions campaigns one by one or it just a whole campain ?
11:43 is the REW in game?
it hurts my feelings seeing that you dont use mages correctly xD
What version are you playing and how can I get it?

Is this made with AI?

so painful watching you play
Don't watch it then. I have better things to do than actually trying against a stupid AI.
I was expecting to see some kind of revenge from mercs to Arthas, but still, good mission
