It's very helpful to have a beefed up roy for multiple reasons, including taking out units that would otherwise block shanna, defeating certain bosses with the wyrmslayer like Narshen, actually surviving enemy phases (which would be a pain with a bad roy, even with manipulation), and most importantly, endgame.
The promotion force equipped the Bding Blade, causing Roy to lose the stat bonuses from Durandal. So while he gained 2 defense from promotion, he lost 5 defense from weapon swapping, leading to a total change of -3
@@PXMacaiah Isn't it the reverse? Roy can't equip Durandal before promo, but he can do it afterwards. And you can see in the preps of next chapter that Roy has Durandal at the top of his inventory. It makes more sense that Roy auto equipped the Binding Blade before promoting, then when he promoted he swapped to Durandal.

Text speed at max means you can't skip the fading animation of the boss quotes - slow text saves about a third of a second for every fade animation you skip (so, twice per boss, or 2/3 of a second per boss)
i would love to see this run with timestamps for authentication as well as with video proof that it is you. this could have been done with a bot or program. this is why other speedruns have video proof of the person running it as well as proof of other runs the speedrunner did. these are all done to get more credibility. adding inputs for your controllers also help.
