    I had to go thru the same issue and I have a few suggestions for you. What I did is separate the blue hose from the white tip. They where too easy to separate and used silicon RTV when I put them back together for a better seal. One thing you need to remember is you NEED to do the same thing at the other end of the drain pipe. The same crappy two pieces that leaked on the roof will also leak at the other end. You can access the passenger side rear drain pretty easy by removing the rear panel and sticking your hand in there. The driver side rear drain is more involving because the jack holder is in the way. The front ones are not that bad to access by removing the trim part on each side of the dash. On my car the blue tube and the white tip separated in the bottom and flooded the driver side pretty bad. Do yourself a favor and check the other end also they where clogged way worse than the top one and the seal is pretty bad.

      That is very useful advice. I’m going to pin this comment for others and check the other end of these drain tubes. Luckily and fingers crossed, I haven’t had an issue since I’ve made this video, but hey this is the wife’s vehicle and I definitely want to sort out any small issues it may have. Thanks for the insight and thanks for watching. I hope you chose to subscribe. Take care.

      Is the drain pipe attached to something at the bottom? I got alot of water in the far back of the trunk at the driver side... When it rains, you can see the water get in straight.

    • @nickt9968
      @nickt9968 2 года назад +1

      @@Creature_NL Open the little door in the trunk on the passenger side. With a flashlight you will be able to see the drain. The drain is just snapped in place you can pull on it and see if its defective. Unfortunatly for you on the driver side you need to remove some plastic panel to reach it but its built the same way. I strongly suggest you redo all four drains both on the top and bottom, they will all fail at one point or another might as well fix them all in one go.

    So everyone who is having this issue. We need to pressure Volkswagen. This is currently happening to mine and it’s been raining like crazy. I love my 2012 Tiguan Sel. I mean there was a river of water . My car has under 40,000 miles.why the hell would anyone else purchase a Tiguan if this is what’s going to happen ? So disappointing. Awesome content Alonzo and much appreciated . Thankfully you don’t live in the pacific west coast.

      Yeah it’s unfortunate the issues these cars have. Have you dealt with the electric power steering issue? Hopefully not and hopefully it never occurs, but that’s by far the worst problem my wife and I are facing. Thanks for watching the video and I’m sure I’ll have more on this car in the future.

    Just looking up how to do this. I read somewhere that blowing air down the lines wasn't recommended, but it seemed to help you. My leak is so bad, I'm pretty sure the gas pedal (Accelerator Throttle Sensor - LOL) sat in water and froze. My 2013 Tig is now running in limp mode with a voltage mis-match between pedal and throttle body. Just got a new pedal - hope that was the right side to replace. Oh, and of course I was going to try and fix the leaks first before putting the replacement pedal in. :).

    • @AlonzoCubano
      @AlonzoCubano  Год назад

      Oh wow. Yeah I suppose if it leaks long enough it can cause all sorts of issues. As far as using air to blow out the lines, I would make sure that it’s at a low psi so you don’t blow any joints apart. Also, a lot of the issue I had here was there was building at at the joint connecting to the hose right under the pano roof. Make sure to clean that out too. Good luck and thanks for watching!

    Hi! I've got this issue with my Tiguan in the UK and once it stops pouring with rain, I'll follow up your suggestions. I've ordered some 3mm strimmer line which I reckon will fit sown the tubes and be stiff enough not to fold with some force on it so that should clear things. Thank you for a very informative video!

    My 2012 tiguan was leaking into the interior and every time we had a storm it a small lake would form on the floors. Turns out that the drain tubes shrink over time and became disconneted at the ends leading out of the car, causing them to leak into the interior. I took some pieces off to reach the drivers side as well as the two in the back and ended up cutting a few long thin funnels in half and placed them into the drain holes, and then fed the drain tubes into those. That has ultimately solved the issue and my car is no longer a bog!

    So I too am having the dame issue on my 2012 tiguan. I bought it used from a friend who is a broker. I have had it in to the mechanic. He said he cleaned clogged lines and I shouldn't have another issue.i took it thru the car wash and it was leaking from behind the hood release handle and onto the floor. Still an issue but the water just moved to a different spot. My friend replaced the headliner as it was damaged but didn't check to see where the leak was coming g from. I'll never have another car with a panoramic sunroof again! Lol

    I have a 2015 tiguan ,that I also have to clean the drain hose, did you take the hose off and blow air from the sun roof to the open drain to unclog it, or did you just use water. Not white and blue hose , the drain on the sunroof, at the 4location, your video is pretty good but I liked to see how the panels and liner came off, but your video still gives a lot of information .thk you

    • @AlonzoCubano
      @AlonzoCubano  2 года назад

      If I understand your question right, you’re asking if I tested the actually drain from the Sun roof to the white and blue hoses and the answer would actually be no. The I didn’t was because it seems my issue here was from the build up in the hoses themselves. Since this video, my wife hadn’t had this issue again although we did find another water intrusion issue happening in the trunk.

      @@AlonzoCubanodid you figure out what’s causing the back to fill up with water. If heard the drain tubes shrink and pull out of the drain plugs at the bottom. Then they dump water inside your car. Perhaps the compressed air blew a drain hose off at the bottom.
