Woooooo hoooooo!!! Y’all already know I’m FIRED UP to be cranking out videos for yall!!!! Hope you enjoy, I am so dang GRATEFUL to be part of the team. 2024 is going to be INTENSE ⛺️ 🏕️ ⛺️
Watching the both of you dealing with both sides of the engine (all3) and staying focused and calm while the kid was in class. refreshing man refreshing.
She's such a good kid and smart she's got a bright future in anything she does I hope she goes into the automotive field the more the women the better.
Emily. You have no idea how happy I was to hear you say Aaron and I! All in hear is me and so and so. Good grammar I never thought would be my pet peeve. But here we are. lol Love you guys!
My daughter is the same age as your niece. She helped me with the brakes on our Cadillac when she was four. Last summer I had her changing the carb on her little dirt bike.
When Aaron said "I'm done, put it up on marketplace " I thought Oh yah and buy a Corvette. But darn it ya beat me to it. I really enjoy watching you guys interact with The Kid helping her learn how to work on cars.
I loved that clip of the kittens. I love how the orange one patted the dark-colored one on the but as if it was saying, go, go, get up there and get that moth. lol.
NGK for Japanese, Bosch for German, AC for GM, Autolite for Ford, and Champion for Mopar. I've had customers bring their cars in running rough, 99% of the time it was because of the wrong plugs. I remember Fords and Mazdas being towed in not running. Change out the plugs and they ran perfectly. For a while Bosch plugs were really cheap, and people were putting them in everything. Take my word for it, always use factory plugs and emission parts for the best outcome. 😊👍
Stickers!! Yes! Thanks for those, ordered it up 👍🏻 Those injectors will plug easily so make sure you really get that fuel system cleaned up or you’ll plug’em up again. I used to work on those and owned a new showroom 300ZX twin turbo. You’ll love the car once it’s up and running 👍🏻Enjoy!
I've worked on cars with my dad since I was old enough to walk , I am a retired Chevrolet mechanic, worked as a mechanic in the army, you're braver than me to tackle that job , wow the kid is growing up. Best of luck ❤❤
It's 2024. Please get some magnetic parts dishes and magnetic spark plug sockets! That flappy tray is one bump away from disaster. Also, magnetic spark plug sockets are really quite nice. So glad to see the 300ZX getting some attention!🙂
Glad you're back! My prediction is that something is wrong with the throttle body. Contamination or maybe an air leak that makes it go lean. The engine doesn't care about spark plug brand. We built a 850-hp turbo Nissan and ran Autolite plugs (same as Walmart and FoMoCo. The engine didn't care!
The Kid has gained useful skills! By the time she's 17 she'll be quite the wrench! Keeping a magnetic pickup tool next to the socket you're removing something with? I didn't invent that myself until last year!
I had an 86 300ZX and I don't envy any mechanical that has to work on one. Your remark "Lets get the engine out." is probably a smart move if you really get into it. As to NGK plugs.... every Nissan product I have used seems to run best when using NGK plugs. I don't know why, but they do.
Guys your issue is your injectors, you’re already right there. Pull the fuel rail and replace those oem old injectors with new ones I have a new z1 set you can have for 200 bucks, or you can go test flow and clean your stock ones. (Cheapest way) Funny I saw your first video in 2022 now I have three of them and working on them Is easy as hell, but difficult to others. Hope to keep seeing more content from you guys.
The holes the sparkplugs were down in were so clean they looked like glass when you shined the light down in them. And I can tell you that not many of them are that nice, clean, and new-looking down in there.
I've worked on car engines since I was a kid (and I don't want to admit how long ago that was) & this is definitely the most difficult engine to work on that I've ever seen--good luck. :)
I took a unscheduled flight out a Kenworth T880 and my left shoulder from the fall was still holding on to the door while falling to the ground. It’s been about a year. Fun stuff.
YOU CAN FIX IT! You've had time to think about it, order some parts, learn somethings and you have a whole fresh perspective on the car. You two have got thid!
You are giving me flashbacks! I was (now retired) a Nissan Master Technician with over 30 years with Nissan. The twin turbo is the worst Nissan to work on. The injectors can be replaced without pulling the plenum, It just takes a little work with a die grinder. Just hope and pray you never have to replace the turbos.
My son had 91 na and I worked on it and drove to work quite offend. I did change the plugs first thing didn’t use NKGs and it didn’t like them switched to NKGs and ran so much better. I understand that the type of injectors are an issue cause they allow gas to leak into cylinders but I didn’t get the chance to switch them out. That car is awesome to drive and way ahead of its time. So much fun. If the body wasn’t so rusty he would have kept it and it had 270k miles.
I don't have the coping in my brain to work on something that difficult. You two done very well. The kid is doing quite well and hoping she goes into the automotive repair field.
I am just catching up on your videos. Looking forward to catching up with the next couple of them. It is easy to tell this was not recorded in the last month because, man y'all have some happy robins out there in the backround!!!
Once you delete all that pulling the plenum will only take like 30 min to 1 hour instead of 8 hrs the first time. Def top 5 hardest cars to work on! Patenice is your friend when working on this one. Yes def ohm out the injectors early style like you have on here are notorious for going out! When you do pull the motor def go with a new efi harness you will thank me later!!! Love y’all! Bad ass video! When is 300zx t shirt coming count me in for 1 in XL!!!!!
I love seeing Lila's (did i get her name right) desire to jump in and learn by getting her hands dirty. Great uncle patiently teaching without doing it for her. She really seems like a great kid. Put a small block in it. Screw all that electronic stuff! It's name is ZX-POS!😅
Love the videos with the " Kid" I didn't meet my daughter until she had two kids of her own and took a gun class from me. I do get to shoot with and teach the Grandson, its Awesome!
Hi there, Adelaide OZ here once more....as far as idle and cold start goes.....the rattle is the hydraulic lifters from non use.....takes ages to fill with oil.....the fast idle and idle speed control are on the rear of the manifold.....old fashioned design now.....both clog with carbon.....electrics fail.....removal and cleaning helps.....I have done it to mine 3 times over 15 years now.....Try carb or brake clean.....white vinegar works real well, but need to soak for a couple of days.....and then be real fussy to eliminate the vinegar as its quite acidic....to better adjust idle I fitted a bypass around IACC to a previous PCV hole in the left manifold.....I used a ball valve, but on others I have used a heater tap .....you can control that with a cable as I have done on BMW's and Jaguars.....Yeah, these cars known to be time consuming and difficult to service....BUT.....so is anything new these days.....not made to work on....just throw away.....recycle.....manufacturers want short ownership so don't care......10 years of support if lucky.....By the time you are done you will look back and see patience and learning have taught you a lot......In Australia these cars were hated compared to R32 nissan RB30 straight six engines to work on.....but that has changed now....new respect...... Hang in there guys, you,ll be experts soon......give up TV...search the internet for nissan Z32 VG30DETT.....lots of knowledge there......best wishes....stefan.
Hey, Guys! You actually dont have to swap the LS, or use NGK spark plugs only)) Simply clean PTU connectors (both sides) and injector connectors. After that: check fuel pump and its whiring, check start-clutch relay and after all this thing you have to check your alternator (relay). As I can see in the video, you got all this little problems. Dont swap the engine, swap injectors connectors and PTU connectors on your Z and enjoy the ride))
Good to see 2024 content. It was nice to catch up on where you started on the car first then connect it to now.
