Just Wow....loved the modern, clean lines, sharp style of the shop. The corals might actually be some of the best I've seen here in the UK. Made all the more impressive with their relatively straight forward set up. Could spend all day in there just window shopping. Great video all round, love your presenting style, relaxed, informative with a bit of humour. Keep up the great content 👍

I've finally taken the plunge...pun intended...I bought a RS reefer 170 on Saturday! Over a year of procrastinating and researching ( including your videos) now I've done it!!
So now watching all your videos again from the start before the rock and sand arrive :-)
Honestly you won't regret it. Expensive hobby, but super addictive and rewarding. You are doing the right thing - research, research, research. I spent 6 months learning before buying anything and I think it helped massively. You will be successful because you can see what works and the mistakes reefers make, including myself with the Dr Tim's ammonia! Not my fault the instructions on the bottle are wrong 🤣😂. I've shown documented everything so far. I wish I went for the RS 170 as the starter, but it was the cost at the time. The ultimate started reef in my opinion 👍💫. When does it arrive?! Keep me posted on how you get on.

We need to move the furniture around 1st to put the tank in the right place.
One question....do you put your rock directly onto the glass bottom? Or put a thin layer of neoprene or something similar..
I'm planning to use dry rock 20kg plus 1 or 2 kg of max spec balls in the sump and cycle with ATM Colony. Is that a reasonable amount of rock/balls for a 43g/165l tank?
@@jaysrealreefuk oh one more question. Sand first then rock or rock then sand?
@@russellguyver7746 I did sand then rock to ensure there was sand under the scape for my goby and pistol shrimp. Hope that helps mate. Either way you can have success. 👍
@@jaysrealreefuk yep. Nakes sense. And is probably better than my earlier idea of putting the rock on a thin layer of neoprene lol

I’m back into reefing after a few years out. I’ve got a Red Sea peninsula 650 and been looking where to get some top frags and was shocked to see this place is 15 minutes away!

Will keep this running for another 6 months at least. I want to get it to its peak, by growing out the corals. When the space runs out transfer to a new system - possibly a 300. 👍
@@jaysrealreefuk Yes I like the nyos opus 300 and the DD pro 900. I think I will have my p mini 25 for a good few years as I love it.

The mother colonies of SPS are incredible, would love a tank with some of those. Hopefully o can grow this PC Rainbow out. Excellent video Jay. I got a forest fire digitata. It's a slow grower I've found. Had my frag for 5 months and it's only grown 3-4mm where as my nice easy bird's-nest sps are triple the size.

Nice video. How’s the pc rainbow doing since? Mine was very slow to base out/take off compared to my strawberry shortcake.

You would love this shop. I was like a kid in a sweet shop 😂. Unfortunately, I don't think they ship to the EU, so it looks like a visit to the UK my friend 👍
@@jaysrealreefuk Definitely - gotta find out first if I can smuggle them out on the plane - that coral _ according to what I see on the website - is call The Cursed LoL - I will get locked up for sure ;) Plus I'd probably leave with 10 frags. Just some crazy stuff I haven't seen before.
I do have that Anacropora (Green Goblin) and it is super easy (lowish par too). I heard the PC Rainbow is pretty easy. They have a massive collection of Cyphastrea too - can't believe you didn't get one ;)

How often do you feed the fish Jay?
Twice a day. Pellet in the morning and frozen in the evening. Hope that helps. I appreciate the comment. 👍
what are they dosing on the tank jay did you ask mate
They only dose Calcium, Alkalnity and Magnesium into the coral beds, alongside amino acids, phytoplankton and zooplankton. For coral feeding. Everything seemed to be Brightwells products. Hope that helps. Appreciate the comment 👍

G5 is not the latest the current one is the Ecotech Radion G6 .
It was when I filmed this video at the time. I have the G5 and I was so upset to see it was out of date in a year of purchasing it. Might need to invest in the upgrade kit. 🤔 Thank you for watching and commenting. Interestingly, they still run the g4's and g5's today.

@@jaysrealreefuk honestly im not 100% sure its a rule, but heard another youtuber say it and it made sense to me :) in case you wanna see that youtuber (LFS owner) and an truely rainbow coral (open brain coral) check out @fragbox tv here on RUclips, this latest shipment of indonesian corals has one of the most incredible rainbow open brain i've ever seen:) and the guy is genuinly a Nice guy that ain't afraid to show his mistakes (he literally fried up his main displaytank a few weeks ago)
I feel he is sorta the canadian version of you in many ways ^^ which is a great compliment! Keep it up!
