Same issue! I have a GE A 53126 toast n broil Toast-R-Oven. After taking it home from the thrift store, I cleaned it. I only took the door, crumb tray and sides apart. I was very careful not to bump anything while cleaning. Fair warning to anyone - clean with a very light touch, it's easy to break these, including the door handle - anything plastic is very fragile with age. Anyways- it worked when I bought it at the thrift and then it didn't after cleaning. Problem? Somehow one of those copper tabs (the left one in your video wasn't making contact. I sanded the contacts with a narrow nail file and blew out the dust. It still didn't work - the left copper tab wasn't touching. DO NOT try to bend those copper tabs. Instead, lift up on the entire contact base at the rear, with a very small tiny flat screwdriver). This raises the contact point up to the copper tabs and makes the needed contact. As mentioned, opening the door moves a plastic cam that lifts BOTH COPPER TABS which opens the electrical circuit(cuts power). I hope this helps clarify the video because it MIGHT happen that sanding those contacts, if you're not careful, raises the tabs above the contacts. If one or more tab isn't resting on those contact points, the toaster will not turn on. Happy Toast-R-Ing.
