I also saw Jack Noir is one of those villains who had to kind of sort of work for his power he didn't start as a mortal God he worked his way up to it and that's what makes him so cool to me.
So it has been finally long enough since I read Homestuck that I have actually had time to ruminate and digest it. Originally when I had watched this video I believe I was still in the middle of my read through so I had not much to say as I lacked the full context to appreciate the in-depth analysis you have performed. The Jacks are criminally overlooked, I myself did not give them appropriate consideration so I appreciate this video enlightening me because he is indeed an incredibly important aspect of the text and the nature of the world that Homestuck seeks to express. Homestuck for most of its cast, is incredible verbose. It discusses the ideas they represent, how they feel about each other, how they introspect upon themselves, and what they wish to make of the world and of themselves as they grow in it and shape it. Not content with just the one cast, Iterations of the 'same' character from different universes/timelines are used to explore even more facets beyond them as individuals. Homestuck is 800,000 words long because the text does end until there is nothing left to say. In contrast Jack, for how prominent he is to the story, is conspicuously silent in comparison. He does not have rapport with other character, not even with that with his main crew. There is no grand desire he pursues. Jack merely reacts to the circumstances he finds himself in. Ultimately stoically quiet is because there is nothing that needs to be said explicitly. Jack is content with what he is. What he represents Jack is a force a nature, chaos itself. The recurring random element that personalizes each universe. Unpredictable by even the omnipotent. Homestuck and its story is only possible due to his arbitrary actions. Its characters are motivated in reaction to Jack, who himself is a reaction to the world. Jack is the catalyst that excites itself. Foundational to the story and the world.
what kind of ass hole names themself "spades" anyways
it feels so good to see Jack Noir finally being recognized as the coolest character of all of homestuck, which, I might add, he absolutely is
