Here's an easier strat with Dachsbun t.co/KNPP9yyl21
I’m having a hard time try and beat him
Same here
I tried Dachsbun before Baxcalibur, but didn’t give him a Water teratype or Tera blast. I tried with stomping tantrum and couldn’t deal enough damage fast enough.
I saw this raid was up, was about to try it, and then I thought, “Work smarter, not harder. Wait for Austin John.” As usual you came through!
One word: Eruption. That was my biggest fear.
I had this thought, but wanted to tough it out once. I'm surprised I didn't see more people using Dondonzo online.
@@Connowot387 Sunny day/solar beam was what I dreaded
Same man
I just used well mask ogerpon with max attack and half max special defense
You might consider making a second video explaining the Dachsbun build for this raid, which is way easier than Walking Wake. All you do is click Body Press and win.
Impish Nature (+Def/-SpAtk)
Metronome item
EVs in Def and SpDef
IVs in Def/SpDef/HP
Fighting Tera
Well-Baked Body Ability
Body Press
Literally hit Body Press from beginning to end and Tera as soon as possible. The CPU will spam Wil-o-Wisp over and over and boost your defense for Body Press due to your ability.
LOVE THIS. made a video ruclips.net/video/W8JP5phlBrE/видео.html
thank you for sharing!
Tell that to th3 dachsbun i just watched get destroyed hile teying my third "recommended" build lol. Way too much is up to rng
@@drewkehoe1805 First, this is for solo raids. If you play online, it’s possible someone will do something which causes the Typhlosion to alter its behavior. I’ve heard Rain Dance can actually cause it to switch from fire moves to moves which KO you.
Second, it is possible to lose using this strategy. When Typhlosion starts using 2 moves per turn late in the battle, it could stack Infernal Parades and knock you out.
However, it’s incredibly unlikely to beat you if you build it correctly and properly invest in it. Even if you do lose 10% of the time, the strategy is so much simpler than any other available option that it’s still preferable.
I think it’s likely that if you are having such poor results, you’ve failed to follow the strategy as written. Even Austin John ended up making a follow-up video because this strategy is so easy.
Bro has 999999 iq
Holy Miltank! It worked! Thanks!
Thanks for sharing this video and always keeping us up to date with Pokemon news!
Used Palkia for this raid - Water Tera Type - Attacked with Ancient Power until Tera Form then kept using Hydro Pump!
The damage varience you are talking about is because of Drifblin's shadow ball lowering Typhlosion special defence, the AI is still applying the secondary effect of their attacks during the battle. Same thing happen to me when I try the raid after seeing your guide and I also had drifblim as an ai partner.
Thanks for the guide.
Thank you so much austin, just got my typhlosion. Took me two tries though, because on the last turn it did flamethrower which crit and killed me. But finally got it, again thanks so much.
Austin John, you are the GOAT. I legitimately wait until you upload before I try these raids. It's not even that I necessarily need to know the strats, I genuinely love the community you've built and your uploads just have a way of making my day 😀
I used a Vaporeon with the Shell Bell item. Move sets are Rain Dance, Surf, Calm Mind, and Fake Tears. Hydration as its ability to remove the burn
Thank you. Used muddy water instead of surf and didn't technically need the shell bell and took it down real quick. Prefer to use my Eeveelutions when I can.
@@lylearoyii Muddy water is kind of a double edged sword due to not being as accurate at Surf.
@@lylearoyii same, was waiting a while to use my vaporeon glad i was able to
I came to the same conclusion felt clunky at first because I didn't use your exact method but I'm glad I watched anyways so I can apply this tomorrow on reset. Ty Austin, you are awesome, and your vids are insightful as always!
Yeah I used Walking Wake as well. I had it holding a Metronome though. So glad it’s signature move works well in sunlight!
Yeah I thought it’s water type move would go down by 50% as well because of weather. But apparently I was wrong.
Yeah since it's a past paradox pokemon and also a water type they didn't want him to get a debuff with the sun since that's also supposed to boost his special attack lol
I missed out on Walking Wake because I had some life things going on and wasn’t playing. Hopefully they’ll do another rerun or put it in the indigo disk dlc!
Nice timing! I was planning on doing this before I go to work.
Thanks as always Austin John. :)
Can't wait to catch my boi after work tonight. Thanks for the tips!!
Thanks for all the tutorials over all these years. I appreciate it
I can’t believe I did the raid. Thx Austin for helping me get one of my favourite starter Pokémon.
it worked!!! thanks so much :D
I ran a Slowking support build. Modest nature, max SpAtk & SpDef EVs with rest to HP. Moves were Weather Ball, Amnesia, Light Screen, and Rain Dance. Not a solo build, but it went by easy.
Worked for me. Thanks!
I was just looking for your video on this!! 😂
This right here... THIS! Is why you are the GOAT! Awesome content. Great advice. Thank you, Sir 🎉
If you have Manaphy from Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl, that's really good too: Take Heart (+1 Special Attack and +1 Special Defense and cures burn) and Tail Glow (+3 Special Attack) for boosts plus Rain Dance to nerf Fire AND activate your Hydration ability, which will cure burn at the end of each turn (not as helpful when it starts attacking twice per turn but still really good) AND power up Surf. A +4 or +6 Tera Surf in the rain will do a LOT of damage. You could switch Tail Glow for Aqua Ring maybe for continuous health refills but I went more aggressive. Manaphy works well with this kind of Walking Wake set too if you have a friend with WW 😊
Bro I highly respect the way you grind in this games damm it's admirable I don't even play pokemon too much but still enjoy your videos
Walking Wake does the job so great!
Max Sp.Atk , Don’t max out Sp.Def because you’ll get a sp.def boost and not a sp.atk boost
Use
Snarl x Hydro stream
Make sure you max out your PP
And water tera to maximum you damage output
And shell bell for the held item
Miraidon worked well for me got him on the first try.
2 calm minds + 3 metal sounds parabolic charge and electro drift. He dealt so much dmg when terastallized. I got koed in the process but i had saved my terastallize i just had to reuse 2calm minds again and it did the job.
Omg thank you, thank you, thank you! I managed to win this raid using the exact strategy you laid out and my Walking Wake hasn’t been trained up in any way so any one can do this. Thank you again!
This guy always comes in clutch!
Loving the new ambiance with the set
When Austin John uploads , it’s a good day
Nu uh
Some people have also been using Manaphy with Max HP & Max SPAttack/SpDef since it has both Tail Glow & Fake Tears with Rain Dance to cure burns alongside Hydration
I’d love an update video of your set btw! Always love those types of videos from you
well this one was the most hellpful of all the builds for me, thanks
Thank You for this video
Thanks for this. At this point, it feels as if people who tell strats before the raid is even out have no idea what they are actually talking about.
I used Baxcalibur for this raid. While my ev spread was geared towards physical attack & special defense, it might have been better to invest in hp & special defense so it could tank focus blast better.
Big thanks bro
I also used walking wake, but my build was a bit different. The wake I used was trained in special attack and special defense with an assault vest. Worked about as well for those of you who lack hp ups
I opened a booster box for paradox rift and got the card I wanted most in the set the illustration rare Rika card and then a bunch of other good pulls too
It was a team strategy, but we actually found that Guts boosted Ursaluna worked great in a team with Dachsbun. We had 2 Ground Tera, Attack/Sp Def Ursalunas (Moveset: Facade, Earthquake, Rain Dance, and Swords Dance), with a Dark Tera (HP/Sp Def) Dachsbun with Snarl, Crunch, Misty Terrain and Helping Hand. Managed to farm several times with this trio.
Just took it down with the walking wake . Awesome content appreciate it alot
I got it with a Vaporeon. Moves are Surf, Rain Dance, Fake Tears and Calm Mind. Nature is Modest and Item is Leftovers. Actually super easy once you figure out the pattern of Typhlosion, I didn't even had to go all the way with the status moves, just use Fake Tears twice and then Calm Mind once and there you go.
I solo’ed with Miraidon. It was close with the timer but it worked.
I used a Manaphy with a Modest nature with Max Sp Attack and the rest in Sp Defense and HP. I used rain dance, tail glow, Hydro Pump and take heart for its moves and life orb as an item. It’s hydration ability will remove the burn caused by will o wisp.
Panfro i guess
Boiii, it was like 30 mins to get the dino into a lvl 100 by some 3-5 stars but then at the 1st shot it was job done :D Last secs after info about gathering power but also enough for one hit to faint this evil badger and whoa - dayum I’m so happy and thank you for these tips. I remember my 1st fights with 5-6 stars were more problematic because of many lacks like no hypertraining etc. and this one was also heavy but I was feeling pretty confident.
Ogrepon with the wellspring mask is reaaaaallly good for this raid. With Swords Dance, Ivy Cudgel, Rain Dance, and anything else. Kyogre is good too.
I might go for this. Thank you.
@@DanielGarcia-uz5snYou're welcome!
It will get burned and cant heal with shell bell
@praise1220 While that is true, it is faster than hisuian typhlosion. Rain dance makes its fire moves weaker, and if you set up 3 Swords dances and then get Ivy Cudgel off, it does maaaaaassssive damage. Plus, terastalizing can hit hard, too. Plus, you have the 3 cheers could set up some defense and some heals.
@@OscarBreath That too yeah.
Hisuian Typhlosion is so funny and cute but also cool looking at the same time
Managed to muscle through with my Ursaluna. I was fortunate that it kept missing Focus Blast.
I tried to use Hisuian Samurott, but damn thing never missed a Focus Blast on me, so I was always struggling. I played with one person who was Acid Spraying him tho and realized that was the closest my group got to beating it, so I changed to a Goodra with Acid Spray/Acid Armor/Rain Dance/Surf, I wanted to put Life Dew in there, but didn't know what to take out. Finally beat it, although to be honest since I was never the heavy hitter, I could have put Life Dew in place of RD or Surf, but I didn't want to be completely clipped, still I think lowering its S.Defense really helped a lot here, plus Goodra can take a good beating. So I would def suggest this can go a lot easier if you got at least one Acid Sprayer in your party.
I tried Azumarill, Vaporeon, and several others. THANK YOU!
This strat did the trick ✅
252hp/252atk adamant guts Ursaluna with leer, headlong rush, belly drum and earthquake holding shell bell worked pretty well for me. 1 leer + 1 belly drum after a burn nearly ohko'd it for me.
I definitely want the unrivaled mark to add to the collection, but when the regular Typhlosion raid came out I caught that one in a moon ball, breed it, hatched it and brought it over to PLA to evolve it. I hate the poke balls that they use for PLA Pokemon when you transfer them around
Milotic support helps, can use special attackers and hot cross bunz
I used Gastrodon. Tera Ground although you can use Tera Water if you want but this is especially good if no Rain Dance and it uses Sunny Day. 252 HP 252 Special Attack Modest Nature. Leftovers. Surf, Earth Power, Ice Beam and Sludge Bomb. Fortunately been lucky to get this 1st time as my teammates used Kyogre and 2 Dachsbunds
Hi Austin, I love your t-shirt, I am from the Yucatán peninsula in Mexico and El Yucateco hot sauce is part of my weekly groceries list 🙌🏽
while Austin uploads today, we also got a release date for Indigo Disk as posted on Serebii
I used Arceus with a splash plate and tera water, max HP max special attack and modest nature, calm mind/acid spray/recover/judgment. This was my most successful build.
Just caught mines like an hour ago, my Kyogre came in clutch and was definitely much easier than Deci
Thx Kami-sama I tried the method like u suggested & it work on my first try thx 🙏 oh mighty lord
Good news just tried it recently and it worked, got lucky with RNG and I had a Mudsdale, Bellibolt, and Sylveon with me.
THANKS
Well they were helping me battle anyway, but I mostly used Walking Wake with the strategy you had.
Great thanks
I followed your set up, even maxed out Walking Wake and the match played out like you wrote, but I ran out of time....only had the one feint, yet my guy wasn't doing enough damage....
I would literally never know about any of these if I weren’t for Austin John 😅
Vaporeon worked really well as well. Got it 2nd try.
For those who weren’t able to get Walking Wake when it was available Vaporeon’s Hydration ability w/ Rain Dance to get rid of the burn, Fake Tears and Calm Mind made this easy.
Actually Vaporeon works even without Hydration, just use Leftovers as it's item to get recovery.
Exactly what I did. Poor dude melted.
Thank you, I missed the walking wake raid😢 so I’ll give this a go
I brought in Walking Wake, but I got Typhlosion after someone brought in a Milotic. It used Light Screen to half the damage from Typhlosion and Safeguard to protect the team from burn. At that point, I realized my mission then was to keep the belly drum Azumarill someone else brought in alive. It was literally the best case scenario when paired with random people.
I got some decent pulls on paradox rift. I went for the Roaring Moon ETB and a booster box. Got: illustrator Altaria ex and full arts of Iron Valiant ex, Garchomp ex, Golisopod ex, and Tulip. And a bunch of regular exs
I used Azuramill with the "thick fat" ability as staying in the fight more beneficial than doing more damage with "huge power" And i also put on rain dance to reduce its fire damage for the team, and counter its sunny day Then had water veil for constant healing and 2 good water attacks.
I went at it with a support Mew. Dropped a barrier, lowered it's spc def and attck and healed my teammates with dew drop. Real easy!
Couldn’t get Walking Wake to work for me, so I switched to Baxcalibur with thermal exchange and gave him water a Tera type. Went crunch, focus energy, sword dance, and Terra blast. Held a shell bell. Started with 3 crunches so I could Tera Water before Ty steals. Usually Ty will waste its turns trying to will o wisp which won’t work. Tera with focus energy to improve crit. Then kept crunching until Ty lowered my stats. Three sword dances and then Tera blast until dead. If you are lucky you will also lower Ty’s defense with the crunches the fight goes even faster. Sometimes you will need to use a heal up cheer if Ty switches to focus blast or flamethrower.
Water tera garchomp works as well. Moves are rain dance, swords dance, bulldoze and liquidation.
Goodra: Tearful Look (until shield), Acid Spray (until -6), Rain Dance as needed and Scald to finish.
I used Vaporeon with Fake Tears and Rain Dance, Surf and Calm Mind. Worked really well.
Don't forget that the dlc is out on Dec 14
Glimorra also worked.
Modest
SP Attack-252 EV
Speed-252 EV or SP Defense 252
Shell Bell
Acid Spray
Power Gem
Sludge Bomb
Earth Power/Venoshock
Aaah there he is...the only reason I succeed at these! Ever reliable!
Mine didn’t go perfect but it still works thanks for the guide
I have a Rapid Strike Urshifu EV/IV trained in Sp. Def./Def. with Surging Strikes, Liquidation, Close Combat, and U-Turn (I'm gonna switch one of the last 2 moves for bulk up). Is this a good enough build for this raid?
Nice video
Use goodra! Max Spa and spdf, rain dance, weatherball, tearful look, acid spray. Tera water. Item shell bell, and ability hydration! It works very well.
Dig the new setup
I used a modest, hydration Manaphy with a shell bell, max sp attack, max hp and the rest in speed, the moves are rain dance, tail glow, fake tears and surf. It was really easy and beat it first try :)
Panfro i guess
Glad everyone took my advice
(WALKING WAKE)
I used my chansey with an eviolite to provide support. She had a bold nature, fully ev trained in Hp and Defense and a little in speed, and has the moves life dew, light screen, rain dance, and helping hand.
Goodra with hydration was so good got it first try with it
Beat it on my first try but I’ll still give the video a view. Love supporting regardless 💪🏾
Frisk *actually* messes with those 1 turn KO strats
Hey Austin, I just started Scarlet and I was wondering if the option to play alone in the 7 star raids (when i get to them) is possible?
Cheers
NO WAY I literally posted that strategy as a recommendation in the spotlight chat a little bit ago LOL
I used Manaphy, stack Take Hearts while healing the burn, then Tailglow + Rain Dance when he Sunny Day.
Surf spam till hes dead with Shell Bell for healing
I used Manaphy and it worked like a charm
I used Baxcalibur. Holding assault vest, Thermal Exchange as the ability with Glaive Rush, Icicle Crash, Earthquake and ice shard with the ground tera type.
Now, I should have changed item and put swords dance at least on it, but was not sure about it and just cheered to boost stats. Now, why I say I got even more lucky. It seemed the AI was prioritizing a burn on me and almost always used will-o-wisp. Which thermal exchange just negated every time. It used focus blast once, but missed. Other than that, I was untouchable. So, perhaps Baxcalibur is another hidden cheese as it was for me. I was not in a solo raid, but it might be an option for solo.
I’ve used Tera Water Houndoom, and beat it first try.
The moves I’ve use are Tera Blast, Snarl, Nasty Plot, and Rain Dance.
The strategy is to spam Snarl until you can Terastalize. Once Terastalized, set up with Rain Dance and Nasty Plot, and then spam Tera Blast.
could you post your build? would love to try this method
@@snartie
Houndoom:
Tera Type: Water
Ability: Flash Fire
Item: Shell Bell
EVs: 252 Sp Atk, 252 Sp Def, 6 Speed
Move Set: Tera Blast, Snarl, Nasty Plot, Rain Dance
Strategy:
Use Snarl until Typlosion clears the stat changes on both sides of the field, (you can afford to faint one time). At that point, you should be able to Terastalized.
Once Terastalized, you immediately set up with Nasty Plot (use Tera Blast when you need some recovery). And once Typlosion used Sunny Day for the last time, used Rain Dance.
Then you should be able to spam Tera Blast to secure the win.
@@sobbleco6248 this worked beautifully! I even posted proof to my TikTok, thank you so much for this build!
I love using different Pokemon for raids than the recommended if it's possible. 🙂
Babe AJ dropped another one!
Found it, thank you
I tried using Iron Moth for this one and surprisingly it worked out
ok im defintely gonna build up my Walking wake for the second round of this one
The mission was a success 😁
Cloud 9 Golduck with Assault vest might be good support
Yeah I didn’t get a chance to get Walking Wake… guess I’m just gonna have to figure this one out on my own
