Nah, Pat was done as a No.1 option, but he wouldn't settle for the 3rd option, so he left. Plus, he wanted a 3-year deal, and the Knicks said no. He was injured in this series and couldn't play in the finals.
Sad part is the last two years he spent in Orlando and Seattle, could've have been spent in New York chasing a ring. Shame on the Knicks for that trade
Ewing was amazing. Best mid range big man shooter and he could play the post offense and defense. I'm still trying to find the original Ewing Adidas....my favorite gym shoe of all time.
Ewing is clearly underrated. He was the Man in NY since he joined the league and was consistently one of the best players from the 90s. He kept The Knicks in playoff contention throughout that decade.
Patrick Ewing should be honored with the title: "Mr KNICK" bcuz he gave them everything he had, year, after year after year...................Until he had nothing left to give
Stopped paying attention to the Knicks a little time before. The Knicks could NOT keep Pat on the blocks low enough for my tastes --- and I see Joel Embiid and the Sixers braintrust making the very same mistake. When a guy is that dominating closer to the basket, he enables proper spacing by also commanding a double team. Passing out of that or securing more reliable 3 pointers and controlling the clock, itself, are a part of playing the 5, well.
Its called competition and he was trying to block shots it was part of his skill set and role... today people move out the way to avoid being a highlight or meme which is diabolical considering it's a completive sport
@@Dantana773 I agree it is called competition & I commend Ewing for that but still funny watching Pippen step over him & MJ dunk on him almost every game lol
The Knicks lost their minds, when they let Patrick go.

So dirty how they did Ewing! The Knicks could've let him retire as a Knick. Seeing him with Seattle and Orlando was just awful.😢
Disgusting stuff

Those Adidas ewings are fire

Patrick "The Beast" Ewing
One of my favorite players growing up. If it wasn't for that damn Jordan he'd have at least one ring.

Ewing was a complete beast on the hardwood....FACT
OGBaller
A beast without a chip
Sooo underrated ❤💯👍
Ewing doesn’t get enough credit for becoming a great jump shooter!!!
The best Knick they ever had!!😊
They should have kept him it was WEIRD SEEING HIM IN A SONICS UNIFORM.
Patrick Ewing❤
It must be hard knowing the only time his team got to the finals, he was injured the entire series.
He wasn't injured in 94 when the Knicks made the Finals. You must be referring to the lockout 99 season?
Not true at all....
Ewing was awesome, much respect 👍🏀
i was in high school '89-'93 and i patterned my game after ewing, anthony mason, and larry johnson...the three strongest "big" men in that era IMO😀
I missed the NBA on NBC 3 games every Sunday when basketball season was in

Ewing had the prettiest jay for a big man!!!
Big Pat was a monster.. Too bad he didn't get a chip.. That damn MJ.. 😂😂
Patrick Ewing was tired of NY and asked for a trade.
If for Jordan....who knows....?????
If Pat was healthy in 99 I believe the Knicks win the chip. The Knicks are just now getting past the karma from doing Pat dirty…
Pat was born with knee pads on
Ewing would put the hand cuffs on LeBron!
We all know what Pippen did to him. Bron would be overkill.
They should have kept in one he retired or send to Miami heat
Ewing was solid but he got put on alot of posters as well 😂
because he was trying to block everything
Exactly, a lot of people got put on posters because they are competing!!

All the top tier centers got put on posters.

One of the biggest bust in nba history. 🤔
Ewing was a great player but, grossly under rated.
Who says the 90's NBA was a weak era is totally idiotic or blind...
Thats a lie you forgot about the Finals 1994 against the rockets lost 4 games to 3
I just mentioned that. That John Starks smh
Pat balled that night!!
