I know this is months old, but The Eagle's Cry only forces an affected unit to move 2D6" if they fail a leadership test. Otherwise, they suffer a -1 movement penalty (-2 when marching or charging).
Love the games. Chaos Dwarves eh?... been a while. They didn't even have a 6th Ed. book, just a Ravaging Hordes entry... As to your question, spells that allow the caster to target a specific model can target characters/champions in units. The "Look Out Sir!" rule is to protect from template attacks such as cannons, stone throwers, breath weapons, and the like (basically it's to prevent unfair targeting of characters with war machines and the like). Power stones allow the caster an additional 2 dice to cast a spell, not 1. Earthshaker Cannons disrupt the movement of troops around the point of impact (that's actually the real reason to take them), so you should have measured around where the shell landed as I'm pretty sure that your knights at least were close enough to be slowed by the Earthshaking effect. Bolt Throwers - Rank piercing: Determine which facing of the unit that the bolt thrower is in (front, side, or rear). Hits to the front/rear can pierce the full amount of ranks that the unit has (losing 1 strength per rank penetrated) while shots from the flank can penetrate through the units entire file. Besides establishing facing, the line of the shot is irrelevant to who can be hit. Remeber, bolt throwers are not a template attack (like a cannon), but a special shooting attack. Death Rockets: As they are a template attack, you could have rolled a "Look Out Sir!!" for your Damsel to have 1 of your knights take the hit for her, as the unit contained 5 rank-and-file modles when it was hit by the rocket. Hobgoblins vs Knights : I'm fairly certain from the video that the majority of the Hobgoblin Wolf Riders were on the knight's flank arc (the 1 drawback to the Lance formation is the LARGE flank arc and relatively small frontal arc that the formation creates) and as such should have charged into the side (did the pond/lake have any terrain effect or was it just there for aesthetics?). In any case, you probably should have checked it. Conflagration of Doom : First off, the spell does not contain the important words, "May be cast on a unit in combat." and thus could not have targeted the Pegasus Knights as they were fighting the Earthshaker crew. Secondly, the spell can cause an escalating number of hits. After the first d6 hits, both players roll a d6. If the casting player rolls a higher number, the target units suffers the result of that die roll in additional hits (example: If Tom rolled a 4 and you rolled a 2, the unit would take a further 4 hits). Continue to do this until the casting player fails to roll higher than his opponent. It's an unreliable spell (on average Fiery Blast will give better results), but on the occasions where the dice fall your way, you'll remember it for years to come. (seriously? 26 hits total....SERIOUSLY?!?!?!).
You are so right. I once blew a very big skaven plague monks unit up with a number of hits that was close to 30. Lol. Many years ago and we are still talking about it
Great batrep. Bolt Throwers can fire every turn even with one crewman. And war machines don’t have to take panic tests for loss of crew to missile fire. Also you forgot to work out the effects of the Earthshaker! Probably the most effective thing in the army.
great batrep! one big thing that came up- in the combat phase, you do every separate combat as if they were simultaneous, and THEN calculate combat resolutions all at the same time. this allows the player to use the leadership of their general for their tests even if the generals unit lost and broke.
Two amazing (and rare) armies! I have Bretonnians from back in the day, so I'm always happy to see them on the field, but I have to admit I'm very jealous of the Chaos Dwarfs! Awesome!
I'm a simple man, I see Chaos Dwarves, I Like. (Keep up the great work on the BRs) Would be cool to see some of the niche 6th armies. Middenheim, army of the liche etc etc.
I highly suggest you look up Lost Kingdoms miniatures. They make files for 3D printing but you can buy them as physical models from licensed sellers and their Maghorim Dwarves are amazing.
Chaos Dwarf Sorcerer Lords are Initiative 1 because if you read the fluff, they’re gradually turning to stone. The price they pay for being dwarfs who use magic. Also the Lammasu is terrible in 6th edition. Never take one!
@@blackdragonminiatures ohh I see, I thought that ravening hordes armies wouldn't feel as strong as the army book ones (After all army books gave lots of extra stuff). Thanks a lot guys
@@elfmeisterc8960 in all fairness to Tom, CD weren’t bottom tier without a book, mainly it’s the extra magic items, but he did miss quite a few of his own rules and whilst he has been busy painting he hasn’t been playing, think this was only like his 3rd game with them on the table top.
Oh my, I just love the original Chaos Dwarf models! Lost most of my army many years ago to a sewage backup! Thanks for the trip down memory lane!

What a lovely Chaos Dwarf army. I've just started gathering one together, no where near as large as yours but a small start!

I really look forward to seeing you beaten fella, no offense, hehe! You and your Bretts... good report guys!
Liked and subscribed, make sure to keep the fantasy content going!
Thank you

I prefer to play 8th but you guys have a great presentation and great looking armies. Thanks for sharing.
4 dispel scrolls? Give a Brother a chance why don't you - it's not a tournament setting.
Lol bretonnian magic and under 2k is ineffective and it was a counter to his army. It was also 5% of my army points.
100% agreed. Countering your opponent before deployment isn't the most fun way to play.
Great bat rep, and a great example of 6th ed fun. Cheers Garry
Great armies! Cool match! Thanks a lot!!!!
so strange to play a game not being revised every 3 years
Love your BRs! Keep em coming! 6th Ed best Ed!
Cheers buddy and welcome to the channel
@@blackdragonminiatures Thanks. :) Been looking for a little while. Found you via the Idol of Gork series. :)

Chaos Dwarves?! Not gonna lie, that would be my army of choice if the sculpts weren´t just FW or a 30 years old-great to see such a rare army!
Thanks! Its been a real labour of love collecting and building them up!

my two favourite armies!
The game of my dreams love those chaos dwarfs
infantry really struggle in 6th edition unless they have stubborn!
I completely forgot you can combine enchanted shield with other magic armour!
The Enchanted shield is magic armour tho, unless I'm missing something!
@@JTheYesManWalker I'd forgotten that it's rules specifically state can be combined with other magic armour, I knew there was a reason it was great

Awesome battle report, which rules did you use for your chaos dwarves? I mean they didn't have an army book in 6th right?
Cheers
