You gotta appreciate Lady Iraga's little moment of shock there when Aisha transforms after headbutting her off of Gene. Aisha was not a low profile member of the species. She came from a noble family, had a high profile position as a military officer and ambassador, and graduated with top marks in her class before losing any standing on her adventures with Gene at this point in the series. If any standing was lost at all (I can't remember). But it was right then and there, Iraga knew she crossed a big fish. And when Aisha responded "it's you!" it kind of implies they knew of each other, as fellow nobles ("Lady" Iraga) or from her job as an officer bringing possible criminals to justice in addition to her more prominent duties.
Iraga could have been guarding a pirate freighter shipping illegal drugs to a dealer while in her werewolf form which made a group of intruders looking to via a five finger discount: they crapped themselves in terror and snorted the merchandise until even Scarface would pass out she later pumped iron in the gym and swore revenge on the Ctarl officer who embarrassed her in front of the stuffy Council of Elders, who took away her soap operas until she redeemed herself
I feel like anime wrestling is kinda underutilized, it's a practically perfect fit. All the drama, tension, story and spectacular moves, but without even the confines of human biology and physics.
Seeing Aisha in her feline form had my heart pounding. I had the biggest crush on her when I was younger. But this puts a whole new meaning to cat fight.
"Who is this Aisha Clan Clan!? I am Fire Cat!" Man, this anime was right in the sweet spot of time where you got great anime that didn't quite take off in Japan but got a cult following in the west, and had great voice acting. It's so weird to think there was a time in the mid to late nineties where there was excellent voice acting that was better suiting than the Japanese dubs. Shows like Outlaw Star, Cowboy Bebop, and Trigun just blew it out of the water back in the day.
HAHAHAHA love Aishah! Her episodes are too funny. Would love to have her as my body guard,.then nobody will mess with me! Not that anyone does....BUT STILL!
I was madly in love with this woman all throughout elementary school, she was the seed that grew in the magnificent/horrifying oak that is my catgirl fetish.
I heard about this in the early 2000s when Cartoon Network aired it edited in the daytime. Bought all three DVDs just to see it uncut. It wouldn't be until 2018 that Cartoon Network would air this mostly uncut, including the hot springs episode that was banned.
It was hideous in so many ways besides how terrible Pineda was. That said, Outlaw Star came out roughly a year before Bebop, but both aired almost simultaneously in the West. Outlaw Star is a good show, but Cowboy Bebop is still in the top five best anime after twenty years for a reason.
3:14 - “Who are they? Pirates?” Like, really Suzuka? Really? The generic cannon fodder you all have been fighting the entire anime and you are questioning if this enemy is also a pirate? Really?
You mean Lady Iraga? She isn't actually a Ctarl-Ctarl. When Jim later mentions how he was surprised that "another Ctarl-Ctarl snuck into the stadium without being caught", Aisha replies: "You're wrong! The Ctarl-Ctarl don't run around with low-class wolves like that! That's an insult." Clearly though, given how Aisha said "It's you!" in this video, she must have encountered Iraga at an earlier time.
@@OutlawMantis I always thought Aisha just meant that she dishonored their race so much that she should not be considered a Ctarl. But the wiki says she is a werewolf.
@@LiquidusSnakeX Hmm, I suppose when you put it that way it is open to interpretation That's the problem with a lot of lore. A lot isn't set in stone by the writers, making it difficult to regard something as absolutely canonical.
@@OutlawMantis Maybe the Japanese version of this episode would be more straight forward. Really curious what Aisha says to Jim in original Japanese. Would prob clear up if she was actually a Ctarl.
@@LiquidusSnakeX I looked into it. It's subtle but there's a slight difference in the context of Aisha's reply to Jim: "You're wrong! Ctarl-Ctarl don't have any low-grade wolves like that!" It does seem to more strongly suggest that the Ctarl-Ctarl never had any of Iraga's kind in the first place. But like before it's still not completely clear. Perhaps Aisha and Iraga are a related race and Iraga's race isn't welcome in the Ctarl-Ctarl _Empire._ I did actually touch on this topic a few years back in a forum thread about the Ctarl-Ctarl, if you're interested: www.outlawstarnex.us/outlaw-star-nexus-articles-archive-/ctarl-ctarl-1788/
Aisha redeemed the Kitaro empire in the eyes of Galactic Boxing by proving that transformed Kitaro would become a sentinel cat who defends you from a rogue member
Why I have a feeling that Aisha is in denial that Iragi is not a Catrl-Catrl but likely is one? I take the planet Catrl must've got several different variants of Catrl-Catrl. Possibly different tribes and clans and likely they have a neverending feud and wars one against another. Or possibly Iragi was from either a dying race or from a tribe or clan that's about to go extinct.
"I really don't care if you're a pirate or a wolf. But I'll be damned if anybody's gonna stand in my way of winning this f--" *clothes rip and transforms* I don't know if that was just terrible timing on the VA's part or the editor's were just lazy. Just kind of ruined the moment as epic as it was.
VideoGameLover58 that's fair but honestly I never got into Cowboy bebop! Outlaw Star was unique cuz even the women characters was so good that they could possibly have their own spin off or feature episodes about their past! Sucks cuz it was really good, i mean a giant cockroach monster controlled by a telepathic cactus plant, a woman legendary assassin who never lost to a man loses to the one guy who's only weakness happens to be women, a humanoid android asking the most deep questions in the entire show, a main character in Hilda killed off in about the first 2 or 3 episodes of the show, and a child genius is the voice of reason!
VideoGameLover58 yeah that sounds like it would be horrible! Unless they were planning on introducing new characters who would match up with the others which is plausible I guess! IMO the showed needed Melfina, Jim, and atleast either Suzuka or Aisha if they were gonna cut one or both then absolutely both Jim and Melfina is needed! Gene still has a comic relief side and takes control of action sequences, Melfina can delve into the seriousness of things and Jim is the strategist who is the voice of reason! Man we never found out who was Gene's father, who created the Outlaw Star, are there more McDougall siblings, more info on Blue Heaven, history on the Galactic leyline, who are the Tao master's, and the crews background stories!
