Im so glad to see a video by you Claire. I’ve so missed you.🤗 I have these pencils and I agree 100% with you regarding them. I’ve tried them several times as I like to give pencils a few goes before I finally say “not really for me” and these have ended up sitting in my bookcase while I tend to use others I prefer. What I do like are some of the fabulous colours in the range and yes breakage was an issue as was layering.

I really hate that squeaky "click" from coloured pencils - I just know they're not going to layer well when I hear that. I'm a sucker for buying pencils, even though I know in my heart they're never going to suit me as well as my beloved Pablos. But you've saved me a few quid, so thanks for that!

Great review as always; I appreciate your candour and agree , it seems that they’re not ideally suited for colourists . I’ve been spoilt with the Derwent lightfasts and now my urge to get some of these to try , has evaporated. Love your colourings !
Good honest review. Glad I saw it. Right at the start I could see crumbliness on the core points, bearing out what you said. I haven't yet found a set to rival Prismas, Polys, and a close runner-up, Artezas.

I, for some reason always believed that I couldn't draw since young teenage!
The coloring books and Colored pencils got me stuck from day one!
The reason why I starter drawing things myself : Those black printed lines.

I read on an art website that the Royal Talen which owned that brand was sold to the Japanese Sakura company. However I do not know where they are manufactured. Someone commented that hers came from Japan.
they are indeed a japan import.
The only colored Pencils i still saved to buy are the ( Derwent Lightfast ) which has i wan't the whole sets well expensive but i had worked with the very small sets i've bought and OMG! they are Awesome! For the other Brands i had all of the expensive ones so not for me enough colored pencils, but it was very interesting to watch your fantastic honnest review of these colored pencils, Thank You Claire xx

I love to blend my pencils out with Gamsol but these don't look like they blend at all really. Glad I watched this, I have enough colored pencil brands as it is anyway :)
Every pencil I have works well in Johanna Basford's books. Not surprised you had better luck with those in that book.

I'm surprised you didn't mention a price! Yeah, I've seen them, and really didn't pay attention. I'm guessing because of a price range. Which I'll go look because now I'm really curious! 😂 😂! . I know what you mean tho, I could tell by looking at your picture you colored. Especially the hair! Which I know you are amazing at doing! Thank you for sharing! 😊 ❤ 👍.
Current price isn't bad to be honest, I don't mention it specifically anymore because it fluctuates over time, which store, etc. Xx
@@ColourwithClaire I just looked, same price as Arteza pencils! Basically. I'm working with the Star Joy pencils! And surprisingly they are not bad! I can't wait for the new set coming by the end of this month, or at the beginning of September. The set that Lori, Color My World! Helped putting together. For a set of pencils, and are just a basic coloring pencils, and the price for a 120 set! That's how a set of colored pencils cost should be. 40 bucks. And some are lower. I just watched a few days ago. Videos on colored pencils! And what most of these carriers are doing. It's a big money deal. So I'll definitely be paying more attention when it comes to buying colored pencils anymore. Thank you again for sharing! Always appreciate your input on all art supplies you cover. ❤❤❤👍
