So much emotion is put in this music and coming out of my speakers, absolutely lovely.
absolutely yes- blown away again by the most beautiful melody I have and will ever hear in my life!.Wonderful Nick! xxx
Probably one of the best interpretations of "Women of Ireland" that I've ever heard. Doing great job! Greetings from Romania!
Obsolutely wonderful....
Awesome at all! Wonderfull!!! Speechless! Absolutely Great! I love it
Nick,
I saw this performed live in Dublin in the 70's and bought the album. It has always been one of my favorites. I always thought it would serve so many music lovers well if they would listen to it. I was so moved to see this on youtube this morning. I am almost 65 yrs old..heard this in my 20's and still get goose bumps and very emotional as it really moved me back then. Thank you...Patrick..in Texas
Thanks so much, Glad you enjoyed it! It is a beautiful melody
It's a beautiful sound like the wind.
good :)
Very nice!!!!
absolutely perfect and evocative, thanks.
God given talents!

Impresionante, bravo, puro sentimiento, hacía tiempo que no escuchaba algo así!!!!!
Beautiful!!!
You are an excellent musician, and I love your whistles!
YOU PLAYED PIANO(AND WHISTLE) SO BEAUTIFUL!!!!YOU ARE SO TALENTED!
Thank you!
Beautiful song
Nick, that´s wonderful and together with Joanies interpretation the most wonderful pieces accompanying me through Ireland, making one longing for Ireland even if you are already there.
Thanks, not sure I can ever compare to the amazing Joanie Madden, but I do my best!
@@NickMetcalf On Joannie's album "Song of the Irish Whistle", she plays this incredibly well (like everything else she plays). You don't play this less brilliantly, so be very proud. I enjoyed her and her band "Cherish the Ladies" when they performed many years ago at Mizner Park in Boca Raton, Florida.
I think I'd better warm up my old Sindt whistle (only $60 in 1999!!!!)
The loveliest Irish tune ever!
Thanks!!!
Superb!
Great performance. Subbed at once.
I wish I had the assortment of instruments you have and the great ability to do this so well. I am an aspiring recorder as well. Extremely impressive! Still enjoying the Low D I got from you.
nice one!!!
well done, so beautiful, love the arrangement and your fluteplaying
Thanks very much!
Nice arrangement. Still reminds me of Kubrick's Barry Lyndon.
nothing wrong with a tin whistle. wood whistles can sometimes sound dusty.
its a matter of taste. depends who is playing it i guess.
what will it cost to get exactly this version of that song ?
i would pay nearly everything to get it .
im absolutely in love with this one. never heard another version like this !
I have a very very similar version on one of my albums… this was just for the video of that whistle…
ok... i have this one. but exactly this version is .... i simply cant discribe it. my heart is bleeding, my roots are burning and everything feels allright !
just love it
(similar is similar, but not the same )
Hi Nick ... am I correct in thinking that your whistle is tune-able? Its quite a beautiful whistle ... and your presentation was really beautiful as well ... heart full.
Yes it is tunable! I still make many great whistles now at www.theirishwhistle.com
Do you have any sheet music to follow this up? Never mind, i found it. This is a great arrangement.
Nice work friend, I love this song of The Chieftains. Carlos Núñez has a version of the song and for me it´s better than Chieftains version, but it is question of taste. Very good video.
Kalign, i was also looking for the music sheet or fingering chart. Where did you find the music sheet?
Great music :) Can you tell me what Microphone did you used???
Thanks, I use an Audio Technica A440 Mic
Hello Nick, could you kindly tell me which model of tin whistle do you play in this tune? I want to buy it it.
It's the signature series that I make... I only make a couple a year and they are all individual works of art, so no two are the same. but I have one for sale right now on ebay that is similar: cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=231289425288&ssPageName=STRK:MESE:IT
Nick Metcalf The delivery has a very high cost ... but I'll think about ... in any case, thanks for the info, Nick

I was looking for some advice on where to buy a good irish tin whistle. I'm from switzerland and I love the sound so I was looking around on the internet and there's just so many different tunes and so cheap... too cheap. So do you have any advice for buying one?
I make my own whistles and sell them at www.theirishwhistle.com I'd be honored to make one for you!
Is there any way I can be an apprentice? Cause this is inspiring. :)
I could use one!!
Can i have the flute notes ? I play the tin whistle.
@Brad Wolf If one wants to learn Irish tunes or bluegrass tunes, learn by ear. Don't become a robot to musical notation - music is not set in stone (marks on paper) - learn the tune, add YOUR style and YOUR interpretation, and be proud!
All I can say is Yummy!
Beautifully played - piano MUCH TOO LOUD.
