Sometimes when I let ball handlers bump into my chest, it hurts so bad like kinda ending up not breathing properly so I usually go for my side arm/shoulders or put my arm protecting my torso to take the bump. Any tips or advice you could give me to toughen up or improve taking the contact bump with my chest because I've seen people comfortable with using their chests to take the bump.
Having your arm at stomach level to absorb and control the ball handler. U could can see it many time in the videos where jrue uses his arm to absorb contact once the ball handler drive or makes a move.
Another way you could get more comfortable with chest bumps is if you slightly try to bump them when they go to bump you, that way your body is prepared for the impact and isn’t caught off guard
