    No extended lca- 17x8 -10
    I definitely suggest extending the lca

    No Extended LCA:

    LCA extension:
    I just found the same thickness metal and cut some up then welded it once i bent it to shape. They are extended by 1.5 inches but you can also do 2 inches for better clearance. I opted for 1.5” with a spacer for a more aggressive scrub radius for better road feel. Try to cut and prep it yourself to make it cheaper or just make welder friends.
    Optional Parts-
    Outer Tie Rods:

    Just did this and can confirm the car feels awesome! With my LCA extended two inches I didnt have enough inner tierod to make this work, Honda Odessy outer rods were a very sturdy upgrade!

      Do they have alot of clearance from the lca? Ive been looking for oem options too

    • @roma_drifts
      @roma_drifts 3 года назад

      @@WildSlideDrift unfortunately no, their larger than the ball joint. Makes them nearly indestructible but will need to notch my lower control arm to get a few degrees of angle back

    • @WildSlideDrift
      @WildSlideDrift  3 года назад

      @@roma_drifts ya ive heard there isnt much way around that. Or add some caster by moving the lca mount forward while getting clearance too

    • @roma_drifts
      @roma_drifts 3 года назад +1

      @@WildSlideDrift I deffinatly wanted to add some caster, have wide boys (10.5 in) in the front and some rubbing issues sliding at full lock. But I think for now il just make a notch and reinforce the lca.

    My man, I’m glad to see my measurements are still going strong! Although, after I was running the 450hp LS3, I cut the knuckles and re welded for a total of 60 degrees lock and zero ackerman. Bump stops were needed with the stock rack location!
    PS; EV455 tie rods are what I was running

    Very cool video! I'll have to watch it a few more times to fully grasp everything, but I'm smelling what you're cooking.

      Its alot of info and i kind of just did a quick glance over it but spend some time on google learning about roll center and how it effects the car. It can make a huge difference

      @@WildSlideDrift For sure! Well I appreciate it, and your whiteboard draws were pretty helpful! I've heard Ackerman thrown around but never got it completely.
      So on the car, are you shortening the link to the tie rod on the wheel side, or lengthening it? Then using longer tie rods to increase the articulation of the wheel?

    • @WildSlideDrift
      @WildSlideDrift  2 года назад +1

      @@luckyboyyt8582 well thats kind of part of it but i also need longer ones to reach the knuckle from the lca being longer. You get the most angle from either lengthening how much the rack moved the tie rod with spacers or shortening the steering arm on the knuckle to have a shorter ratio and more movement

    I think you skipped over a key aspect when you drew your line from the knuckle to the diff. The line goes from your ball joint, through the tie rod, to the diff correct? This seems pretty hard to measure in the real world. If you wanted to keep the stock ackerman you would move the tie rod pickup point inline (diagonally) with the original ball joint to tie rod pickup path right?
