Great video, however on the passenger side putting back the door latch part at 6:24 is the opposite way and is almost impossible to replace it without taking the door handle off, which is what I had to do. Getting the ball in and twisted, you need skinny fingers or really good dexterity. just a FYI>
2005 Nissan Titan. Doors won't open when it's cold. If they do get open after many tries, then they won't latch closed. Only happens below freezing. Works fine when it's warm.
so first is it all doors or just the 1 door that won't open? if just 1 door, then probably the door lock actuator failing, the only way to know for 100% is to remove the door panel and inspect it when it is below freezing (Recreate the failure), check for 12 volts at the door lock actuator when pressing the lock button and if it is getting the voltage and not moving then it is the actuator, make sure the battery and vehicle is supplying 12 volts. If it is all doors, then you may have a control module issue or vehicle battery issue, you can test that by having a battery tender or warmer when it is below freezing and see if the symptom continues, if it does, then you may need a battery or just a warmer. If that doesn't expose the problem, then you have to go down the line of components on the door lock circuit, all of that would most likely have to be tested while the symptom is occurring which makes it more of a pain in the a$$. Also if any other symptoms occur, those should be considered before checking anything else.
@@APDTY I have an 05 Titan and it’s only when it’s cold out and with the chrome door handles. It happens to all 4 of my doors and only when it’s below 30 degrees Fahrenheit.
my 2015 driver door only unlocks sometimes when the key fob is used. . Looks like the same part actuator. Just wondering if the computer need s to be reprogrammed. after replacing the actuator/
Brian Odom So it is fixed now but let me tell you...I removed the panel a couple months ago when it first happened and with the door closed. Talk about an undertaking! Anyway, I was using the outer door cable to open and close until the new part arrived. It froze just before he part came in. I ended up drilling out the guts through the door frame and was able to catch the drill bit on the linkage and open the door. Was all downhill after that.
sgttc15 I have a 2011 Nissan Armada and the door is stuck shut as well. This should be a recall in my opinion. It’s a safety hazard. I can’t open the door to get the panel off and make the repair. I don’t even know if my cable is broken or just popped out of the track. I see above that you said you have to remove the seat to get to the panel sounds like a hell of a job to get to this piece. Poor poor engineering.
Stupid Nissan for using a long cable that curves. The handle is only 4 inches above the latch. Cable should be completely removable. At least these video now expose car makers designs meant to generate repairs.
My door wouldn't open for nothing, but if I use the key to open the door and hold the key in the unlock position it would open for me. Not sure if will work for you but worth a try
(TLDR = break it.)That sucks and is why ignoring one malfunctioning handle is a bad idea. Often ignoring repairs on cars causes additional work and cost. I'm not sure what happened. Did one handle not work than you got to the cable and did something. Is the interior panel on? I guess not if you are pulling on the cable. It's not clear exactly what you have done. Now, if panel is on, you have to break things because I don't think you can get the door panel off without breaking it; considering the seat and the overlap of the dash. Once the panel is off you can pull on cable to get it to release the catch. The latch will have to release to get the door open and that might require breaking it to get to the lever the cable is supposed to pull on. Provided you can't get it to release by the cable. It reminds me of a old car I only had one key for. The old metal kind that any key place will cut a copy for a couple buck. You know the people who only have 1 key because they only got one when they bought it used and didn't want to take 5 minutes and $2 for make a copy. So when I lost that 1 key I soon realized how much extra work and cost to get another key.
Swapped out bad Lock and all tested good until plugged in power. Now door won’t open. Sounds like it will unlock but cables and handle don’t work. What now?
Testing is required, most likely a door lock actuator, however freezing can be from a weak battery, literally having frozen parts, or a bad electrical connection. Identifying any other symptoms and then removing the door panel and testing while the symptom is occurring is the first step.

Best video ever!!!!! Super sweet!
great vid, how do I get it open both inside and outside do not work?
Had to take door panel off from inside don’t have to move seat it pulls away enough from up top to grab cable and open
Will that park work for a 2004 I believe 2004-15 is the same

after replacing the actuator/
My driver stuck cables not working I remove the panel but impossible open the door help
What if the door is stuck closed and the cables won't do anything to open it?
If you removing the seat, you'll be able to take the door panel off to access the latch and cables

Yeah, it gets ugly quick if you have to drill out the latch from the back side. Not a fun job at all

is this what i need? i have an 05 and the door handle gets stuck and the door latch doesn't lock or unlock when pressing the lock button.
That happened to me. I closed the door, and i couldn't get it opened. Any tricks ? I still can't get it opened 😪

So now the door wont open and the cable isn’t budging to manually pop the door open. Both sides won’t open...what now

@@roycehoward2152 I ended up replacing it again and now it works perfect.
So what's the issue when the door only fails when it's cold??
Testing is required, most likely a door lock actuator, however freezing can be from a weak battery, literally having frozen parts, or a bad electrical connection. Identifying any other symptoms and then removing the door panel and testing while the symptom is occurring is the first step.
you skipped the harest part - getting the door latch cable into the socket
Bro it’s fucking impossible I’m sitting here dying
Glad I’m not crazy looking for that part
awesome video thank you.
thanks you for watching and commenting!!
I'm having the same problem but it's with the rear passenger door on my 2008 king cab.
Would this work on a 05 Nissan armada?
Yes, same vehicle. Door are identical.
thanks for sharing
Thanks
Looks like the bulb is out in that light...
I cannot remember but good eye, thanks you for watching and commenting!!
