Animated series "Family Guy" features the adventures of the Griffin family. @@momofautism52005 This is a medical rule that Dr. Wagner mentions most often in the video - if there is a foreign object in the body, it cannot be removed until the ambulance arrives, as this will increase the bleeding. I would say that this has already become a local meme of the channel)))

When my sister was really little she ran into a really old window and glass shattered everywhere. I remember my much older brother running up to her thinking that she must have cut herself badly. My older brother was a nurse at the time and he was really concerned. He checked every single part of her body to make sure she was ok but somehow she escaped without a scratch.
One of my cousins did something similar when he was two or three years old. He sprinted through a sliding glass door. He got one cut from it on his eyebrow other than that he was perfectly fine.
Kids are just built different. Unless you see blood, don’t worry
@@nicholasnguyen5181correction: unless you see a lot of blood don’t worry. It could sometimes be a small cut and they could cry. Like me at age 7 with a paper cut. Now if you fall face first onto a driveway at a block party like I did that same year then you should worry. I’m serious. I had to use my scooter to move it hurt too much to walk.

@3:30 Yes, when I was 5 didn't realize the spring difference from a trampoline and a mattress and on my second back tuck attempt, I came down on my head/neck. From the sounds I was making my father thought I was playing around at first, but I actually couldn't speak for about 30-45 seconds. Quit gymnastics that day and haven't attempted a back flip since 1980!

3:39 5th grade gym class, first day we did gymnastics I'm amazed the teacher didnt lose his license, one kid sprain an arm, another had a backsprain. I whacked my head and started having a migraine about 30 minutes later. (Not knowing what it was at the time). It was removed from the cirriculum by 7th grade.

I didn't quite have a gymnastics-fail at home, but in my dorm's living room, I did have a Kung-fu/Stunt go wrong, and fortunately it only hurt for a minute. To show off for a brief second, I jumped over the side arm-rest of the couch and performed a double-kick into the air, only to land in between the cushions, and discovering, at that very minute, that the couch was not a single unit... I literally shot the two halves of the couch about 15 feet apart!

What was your favorite Family Guy medical scene?
My mother has told us how when she was like 5 years old she couldn't open the barn door (this was in Finland and the door also lead to a sauna where she had been) she said she tried multiple times but couldn't and her parents were inside the house. She got so scared of being stuck there forever that she literally JUMPED through the glass window. My grandfather heard all that and got out, only to see my mother there, bleeding from her face and hands. All she said was "I came through the window!" With a proud face 😅 fortunately she only got mild cuts from the glass, which was surprising.

The episode when Stewie sees the child psychologist is a weird one, but definitely medically relevant.

My brother’s friend had his testicle removed from testicular cancer; it was because of that that he started checking himself; he too found a lump that he went and got checked out; it turned out to be a stage 1 seminoma (testicular tumour) that he too had removed through the exact same surgery that his friend had; through the abdomen. Now he has matching scars with our mom (she had him C-section after 32 hours) and has to have blood tests and a CAT scan every 2 or 3 months.
What are the odds they both had it at the same time.

3:44 I remember jumping over a low fence and tripping. I landed right onto my shoulder. It cracked loudly, and felt out of place, but I somehow managed to put it back into its place. It was hurting, but it was at its place
I remember back in 2015, I had a mental health crisis. In the ER waiting room I told my mom how the fish in the fish tank were plotting against me. I got a lot of looks and stares. I think that I terrified a kid. My mom told me not to look at the fish tank and she had me move to another spot. I was admitted to the psych ward (or as they called it the "Stress Unit").

A couple gymnastics injures from my family. When I was practicing front flips into the pit (a big hole filled with foam cubes) I overturned and was still tucked when I landed. As a result, the force of the landing drove my knee into my eye (because I wasn't using proper form) and gave me a black eye. Then, I did it again but to the other eye. Went full racoon. I think I was around 10 years old at the time.
My sister, who was level 7 competitively, ended up severing her achilles tendon and that was the end of her gymnastics career. The funniest (or tragic, depending on your point of view) was that she didn't even sever it during practice. The gym we went to had a heavy metal door and she accidently shut the door on her ankle. I think it took 10 months to heal if I remember correctly.

@3:35 During a competition for country western dancing, we performed a move where we flip the girl over our shoulder backwards. One guy forgot to let go, and his shoulder went further back than what it was supposed to and he tore his rotator cuff, mid performance.

Alright! Gymnastic based injury story here we go! So this for context happened during training in the military, we were practicing backwards rappel techniques and other maneuvers, silly me decided to drop in and I dropped the ball big time I flipped upside down and slammed my face onto the building we were conducting the training on. I began to nosebleed profusely and well I gained the nickname “Bloody Mary” shortly after.

4:16 Yeah as soon as you find out the answer, just listen to this good and very smart ER doctor/internet doctor. There's just no way you could pull it out. Don't even push it all the way in either. Bigger sharp objects like that get directly to the nerves abruptly, and when you bleed like crazy, you might as well lose consciousness.
