    The Hilton Aspire card is probably one of the best in all the credit card market. Even though the annual fee is high, the perks and free night are SO GOOD.

    For late checkout, here's another tip.
    Ask as soon as possible. If you call the front desk 5 minutes before normal checkout time you will will likely only get an extra hour, if that.
    To help the hotel plan their cleaning schedules, ideally you want to ask for a late checkout before midnight on the night before checkout. Even better if you ask at check-in. For the very best chance, include it in the comments of your booking and then bring it up at check-in.

    Extra tip, get all three Amex Hilton cards, then upgrade the two lower tier cards into Aspire card when they give you an upgrade offer. Then you end up with 3 Aspire cards so 3 free nights. Have your player 2 do the same and you'll get 6 nights free at a Waldorf Astoria each year.

    • @zenifgar6686
      @zenifgar6686 Год назад

      It wouldn’t be free, nor could you book them all consecutively. It would cost you $2,700

    • @PointsTravelTechAustria
      @PointsTravelTechAustria  Год назад +4

      You‘re right, it would cost a total of 2,700$ in annual fees for 2 people. But considering the Aspire card essentially pays you to keep the card and if you can use all the benefits, it can be worth it to go that route. If you book an expensive hotel that would run you 1000$ per night or more, you‘re already getting out on top easily. Add the 250$ resort credit (x6) and the 250$ airline credit (x6) it can be very valuable. If you‘re able to use all of that, and your able to pay the annual fees then it‘s a no brainer. And you can book them consecutively if the hotel has 6 standard points rooms available for 6 days straight. Granted they would be 6 separate bookings but they could be consecutive.

    I'm still learning the award travel game. I have been obtaining Chase cards because the points are transferrable to airlines for flights and then Hyatt notably for hotels. I just got my first Hilton card but now I am unsure what to put our everyday spending on - Chase for variety or Hilton to earn points, additional status, etc.

    • @PointsTravelTechAustria
      @PointsTravelTechAustria  Год назад

      There is no one size fits all strategy when it comes to spend on credit cards.
      If you have the no annual fee version of the Hilton card, that comes with a nice multiplier for groceries in the US. I think groceries are lacking in the Chase portfolio unless its one of the quarterly categories of the freedom flex.
      Most people would argue, that Chase points are worth more, than Hilton points. So unless you‘re saving up for a Hilton stay, focus more on Chase. If you need a Hilton points boost, just apply for a new card and get another SUB!

    • @PointsTravelTechAustria
      @PointsTravelTechAustria  2 года назад

      Hallo Alexander. Punkte bekommt man in der Regel nur, wenn man selbst vor Ort ist. Solltest du also eine separate Buchung für eine andere Person tätigen gibts für dich keine Punkte und für die andere Person keine Vorteile. Es gibt einen, genau genommen illegalen, „Trick“ wo man das Zimmer für sich selber bucht und als zweite Person diejenige angibt, die tatsächlich dort bleiben wird. In manchen Hotels funktioniert das aber es verstößt gegen die Bedingungen von Hilton Honors. Also entweder, wenn man gleichzeitig verreist, 2 Zimmer buchen, da gibt es je nach Hotelmitarbeiter auch Punkte und Vorteile. Wenn die andere Person kein Interesse an Hilton Punkten hat, sie überzeugen sich trotzdem anzumelden und dir die Punkte im Anschluss zu schenken (Transfer, wie im Video beschrieben). Ich hoffe, das ist halbwegs verständlich gewesen.

      @PointsTravelTechAustria  2 года назад

      Mit getrennten Rechnungen wird es wohl nicht gehen, dass du für beide Zimmer bekommst. Ich glaube die beste Variante ist, die zweite Person macht einen Account auf und gibt dir die Punkte im Anschluss. Ich werde erst ende September selber erfahren wie genau das abläuft, wenn man mehrere Zimmer (auf eine Rechnung) bucht. Da habe ich 4 Zimmer gleichzeitig gebucht.

    How does the free weekend night work with the 5th night free? Can the weekend night be the 4th (free) night and still get the 5th free? Or can it only be used as a 6th night (free)?

    • @PointsTravelTechAustria
      @PointsTravelTechAustria  2 года назад

      Using the free weekend night as the 5th night would be a total waste since it doesn’t cost you more points to stay 5 nights instead of 4.
      So you can only use it as a 6th night. And it will most definitely be added as a separate booking by the hotline agent.

    Can you please help with which UK credit cards to rack up Hilton points with?

    • @PointsTravelTechAustria
      @PointsTravelTechAustria  2 года назад

      The only cards in the UK that in theory generate Hilton Points at the American Express cards (Gold and Platinum for example). You earn MR points and you can convert them to Hilton Points. This is generally not recommended because you can get more out of your MR points, by transferring them to Airlines. But if you‘re only after Hilton Points, you can do so. The UK used to have a Hilton card, but it‘s not offered anymore. The only other option is to get the US Hilton Cards if you own a UK AMEX. That‘s all there is at the moment.

    One of my worst experience with Hilton. When I entered the front desk was nice and friendly. The front desk told me I have food credit at the restaurant so I decide to give it a try. The server was busy giving out number to other guests instead of serving guests. When I left the hotel I did not receive the charge details. I notice the charge on my credit card does not match what I recall. When I contact customer service they told me I do have credit. They told me they will provide me an answer then never did. As a Gold member I find it extremely irresponsible. Hilton made a mistake and refuse to take any responsibility. Do not stay at Hilton. You will feel awful. The room is dated. The service is bad. Hilton does not care about you even with Gold status.

    • @PointsTravelTechAustria
      @PointsTravelTechAustria  Год назад

      I get your frustration but this is not a Hilton thing, this has to do with the individual hotel. Most Hilton hotels are not owned by Hilton itself. It would help if you would point out the hotel you had this experience at since there are over 600 of them and most of them won‘t offer the bad service you had. Yes, it should be in Hilton‘s interest, that all guests are treated well and also the status holders, but the primary issue lies with the hotel.

    The Hilton Garden Inn San Francisco Airport in Burlingame is beyond unreasonable. If you want to be insulated as a paying customer, go ahead and book it. I hope you will enjoy their peloton offering.
    Here is what happened to me. First I checked in using the app and got my digital key. When I arrived, there is another guest in my room. We went to the concierge, they told us this happened because we shared the same last name - is this a legit reason? Anyway, they gave me a new room at a lower floor. The next day, when I check out, they asked for my credit card. This was surprising because I put my credit card down when booking and was not asked when checking in. Plus, there were two rooms assigned to me. It’s reasonable for anyone to check a few details before handing out the credit card. Not to mention that it was 8:30am, hours before the check out time. I have every right to confirm the legitimacy of the request for credit card. However, the woman at the front desk accused me of refusing to pay and interrupted me multiple times when I tried to explain to her why I needed to check a few details before putting my credit card out. Also, she threatened multiple times about calling the police without listening.
    If you think the above is ridiculous, hold on. After I made a few calls to the hotel customer care and my credit card company, I was ready to pay. So, I went to the front desk and asked to put down my credit card. During the process, I found out that that women was filming me using her personal phone! Without my consent!!
