I think RM did have a bit of an idea what Ellen's question meant so he tried to deflect the question politely but she persisted. He would often translate American interviewer questions to the other members. The ones which were rude or inappropriate he would rephrase into something acceptable. So he knew the bad attitudes they were getting and tried to protect the rest of the guys. It should be noted that when Ellen asked the question Jungkook was still a minor.
Oh he knew what she was implying but tried to divert it, he knew what she was suggesting it was clear as day on his face. We in the UK have 2 meaning for the term one is just 'hooking up with mates' eg meeting up for a meal or going to the pub for the evening or the cinema or going 10 pin bowling that kind of thing with your mates (friends). The other is the one she was suggesting. I noticed RM used the other meaning to try to divert her.
As a Korean, we nomarlly do not ask questions regarding their s*x lives on TV shows or in interviews. But not just in Korea, I believe it's a universal mannerism that if the topic is personal and the respondent seems evasive or uncomfortable, it's polite not to press further.
This isn't the only incident. At another visit as they were conversing she had several weird people jump out of the end table at the other end by RM. It scared them badly and J-Hope fell off the couch. Do be careful about which sites you get "news" from. I wouldn't go back to this one, there are others, they are like the National Enquirer which you used to pick up in grocery aisles. In this case it did happen, but others will distort things, try to follow them and get paparazzi pictures, etc. If Ellen is cancelled, I'm really glad.
Completely agree as I watched another one from it and they got the general picture of things but was rather iffy in places. I wouldn't use the site it's not that great it's very hit and miss.
Yes she's the kind of woman you wouldn't want to get on the wrong side of. BTS and Korea have very different laws and outlook and the guys are genuine and respect the army and are very quiet about their private life and are extremely busy to even stop and think about relationships especially as they are all in the military. Brilliant thank you love your reactions have you seen bts at the last grammes performing butter kind of James bond effect very good great stunning performance 😅
Hi there. I’m with you on all of your comments. I bet she thought she was funny but being culturally insensitive to invited guest is beyond rude. I’m korean from a very traditional family and when I saw this interview I turned white as a ghost! I had the same exact reaction as V. He was shocked beyond beyond beyond words. All he could do was forcibly state “NOT! NOT!” Then RM corrected him to “NO!” Even in this situation they are so adorable. For reference, in Korea celebrities do not randomly date (even each other) because the cultural norm would consider this outrageous behavior. Stars have had their careers and lives ruined for even 1 drunk driving or any drug allegations. Korea has zero tolerance laws. And this cancellation can extend to their families, schools, businesses, and sometimes even their hometowns. Public reaction and backlash is severe. So when they do date, their companies will make formal announcement and ask for privacy. But there are crazies and stalker everywhere. I have to admit it’s a bit much for me having spent the last 60yrs living with these norms, so I hope it’s not like that anymore.
Be careful which channels you choose. There is a very large body of gossips, trouble makers, and high schoolers that think it’s fun to cause drama. While this particular mv has points of commonly known facts about ellen (I won’t capitalize her name). There is a few subcultures in the kpop world ARMY will not associate with. They are called solos, that want their favorite to leave BTS and go permanently solo. They actively hate the other artists and cause rumors and drama. Mantis..they are kpoppies that demand BTS do what they want, interfere with the groups decision with their management, actively get angry when their favorite doesn’t act the way the mantis think they should act. Kpoppies….fans of other groups and can’t Stan when BTS win any awards over their favorites and actively interfere with BTS, media, (they all hire trucks with signs on them and park them outside BTS company). ….other labels in Korea sending plants into these group fandoms to whip up any scandal possible and try to embroil BTS in it so they will loose favor and popularity, causing Hybe /Bighit to fall. ALL of them refuse to “allow” BTS to date or have a girlfriend, they actively harass and send the girl death threats, stalk them…you name it. Many are stalkers and sell their flight plans to book flights on the same plane. They break into their hotel rooms. One even sent a letter written in her menstrual blood. ARMY has been fighting all of this. It’s pretty sick. There are Bona fide reactors out there who are mature like yourself and ARMY out there. Whatchagotosay is just one of many. The kpop world is cut throat and evil. Be careful. ~~~ Love, a real A.R.M.Y. 💜
Pick carefully which channels you get 'BTS NEWS' from. Sorry to say MANY can't be trusted. Many out there have their own agenda and try making controversies for clicks and blow things out of proportion rather than reporting the truth. Yes, ARMY were not happy with some of the questions/treatment by ellen and yes BTS did unfollow many artists/celebs on social media. BUT BTS have personally never said anything publicly good/bad about ellen. That is not who they are. I mean, they don't need to, look at her now. BTS seem to live by a couple of philosophies as I do: 1)Treat others how you would like to be treated💜 2)If you have nothing nice to say, don't say anything at all💜
Actually Korea is very strict on manners. We even see BTS members giving a head bow to delivery men. They are known to be a chaotic but kind and polite group. Who dk not publically date because they themselves get death threats and they would not like a partner to suffer from a mentally ill person targeting them. They would also think it was abusing the love fans give them. Taking advantage. Her behaviour was rude and crass yes but it also implied the boys would be the sort of people who behaved in that despicable way. It was incredibly insulting. Plus the reason Suga creates solo work under AGUST D is so really young fans do not find inappropriate material. Now Ellen has introduced them to the idea of hooking up. Not something that is acceptable in Korea. Artists have lost careers over it. So all round ignorant.
BTS would never actually adress this publicly, because thats their culture and thats who they are as people. they are aware of their influence so they wouldnt use it to attack people thru their fans, nor are they seeking controversies. but army doesnt need to be told anything in order to understand how the boys felt in those moments. it was so awful of ellen to ask them such questions. especially since the members are well behaved and would never do such a thing anyway. i know how many scandals boybands have in the west, but korean culture does not accept those things as easily as western culture does. they didnt even understand the question, now their english is a little bit better, but RM remains the only member fluent in english so asking them such things on top of them not even being able to understand basic questions at the time makes the whole thing even worse. she was so rude to them the whole time, and you can tell how uneasy the members felt during the interviews on her show. kpop idols keep their lives very private and bts has done the best job at this in their long career and while being in the spotlight for years. i honestly dont understand how could she ask that, she probably thought she could get some reaction from them that would hint to them actually doing that but instead she scared them. but the saddest thing is that they were treated badly by interviewers in the US a lot, especially during 2017-2018 when they became huge in the US and started getting american awards. but they did what they had to do and while they continue to rise, shes now irrelevant so we laugh in the end.
Just a comment. Bangtan boys are way too polite gentlemen to ever say themselves why. This is the theory of army. They never confirmed officially of course 😊
Es una persona mal intencionada que quería dañar la imagen de bts y demás artistas gracias a Dios ya no está, gracias por su reacción y apoyo para nuestros chicos
The worst was Ellen outing Mariah Carey's private pregnancy by trying to make her drink champagne. Especially horrible that Carey had a miscarriage and everyone got to know about it.
If you want a little insight on talk show hosts and how they treat BTS. Boracity Magazine (ARMY RUclipsr) did an interesting video essay, and ranked the Late Night Talk Show hosts, based on their treatment of BTS, from worst to best. I think it's very insightful, and I agree with her assessment. She mentioned Ellen as a side note, even though Ellen was a Day Time Talk Show Host. 💜💜💜
I don't think Ellen really respect her guest. She likes to use her guests' fear for entertainment. Yeah you can prank people but not to the extend for them to get scared, i mean really scared. What if someone get a heart attack or something. I hate that kind of show. Show host always ask stupid questions to BTS thinking they are boyband so their fans are teenagers but even my teenage kids are complaining about the questions they asked. BTS has been open to army and whatever they didn't tell us, we should leave it as it is. We enjoy their art. Whatever they do behind the camera as long as it's not against the law, we don't care. Artists are human too, they have their own life.
I don’t know if you like sports or not, but this is a fun race BTS was in with other KPop groups. What’s fun about it is to pay attention how the commentators literally ignored BTS. At one point the mention the team in 1st place and then mention the ones in 3rd and 4th saying they were doing their best and totally ignored the fact that BTS was in 2nd. It’s a fun race to watch and it’s a short video. ruclips.net/video/ac58n5rZFPQ/видео.htmlfeature=shared
No she didn't ask them if they dated ARMY. RM was deflecting her question by saying that's what we are doing now. As hooking up has 2 meanings and he decided the polite way to deal with it was to use the non offensive meaning eg meeting to converse with ARMY which they do both on Weverse and have fan events where they meet the fans chat to them shake hands, like the do at concerts they talk to us and at the small gatherings they'll walk up and down the steps between the fans who sit and don't mob them and if one holds out a hand the guys will gently touch that hand as they walk by. We've seen Jungkook do that and we've seen Jimin do that. They also take questions from the fans.
Please don't use this channel sweetheart it's the local gossip channel that doesn't get things right they kind of get some things right but most of it is gossip and half truths or speculations. BTS have never said why they didn't return to that excuse of woman's so called show. They never would either they are too polite. But one could tell how annoyed RM was he was sarcastic to her at another time but she tried to brush it off as if it was nothing.
Yeah, she would regularly have a big muscle guy come on stage, with very little clothing, and she would think it was funny to completely treat him like an object. I noticed that a long time ago, and found it annoying, first that she did it, and then also that no one was talking about how messed up it was.

usted vio esa entrevista de los chicos alla en ellen... pregunto para que vea las reacciones de los chicos con sus voces

We saw this one, though, and the one with the "surprise" in the end table.
There is no Ellen show anymore....so that solves that!
Of course not......the Ellen show was canceled a few years ago lol!

Faltou mencionar a brincadeira sem graça que ela fez
Dando um grande susto neles e ficaram todos sem entender o porquê daquela idiotice
She's made tons of money by pretending to be someone she isn't.
