    For anyone watching, fill the new oil before putting on the filter. The manual makes it very clear there is a risk of air locking the oil system on these engines if you fail to do this, if you don't know what that means your engine has a very high chance of failing if it does form the air lock.

      The procedure you’re mentioning is for the new tiger 1200’s (2022 model year onwards). For the gen3 tiger 1200s and earlier (like my 2018 tiger), the manual states fit the new oil filter completely before filling new oil.
      You can refer to the oil change procedure for the gen3 tigers here: api.triumphtechnicalinformation.com/handbooks/documents/624329815b05bf5ce5065128/pdf#page176

      Great video! I just bought the same model and color in Vegas and rode it back to Talladega by way of Sturgis. Just an incredible machine!

    Recommend only using the nut on the oil filter to undo.

    The best way to change the oil on the bike is after a long ride,

    Recommended in manual to fill oil before putting oil filter on 🍻

      Hope you meant filling oil in the new oil filter before fitting it :). Filling oil in the engine before fitting the oil filter will leak oil :)

    • @daveo9844
      @daveo9844 Год назад +1

      @@eazyontwowheels You need to fill until it just leaks before fitting filter otherwise you risk an airlock (on these engines).

      @eazyontwowheels  3 месяца назад

      @@daveo9844 someone else recently made the same comment. Which model year tiger do you own? I’m guessing it’s the newer gen4 one which has this potential air lock issue? The gen3 and earlier tigers (like my 2018 tiger) don’t have this issue and the manual states fitting the new oil filter before filling engine oil.

      @@daveo9844 ah yes, gen4 then. I checked the manuals and the oil fill procedure is slightly different for gen4 (2022 model year onwards) in that oil needs to be filled before fitting the new oil filter. This is not the case for gen3 and earlier :)
