Every Dumbledore's scene in this movie pulled at my heartstrings. I felt for his pain, sadness, grief, regret and longing for something that he would never have at the last scene, where he walked away from Jacob's wedding. The longing for happiness and a family of his own. His redemption arc was brilliant, and while the movie had many flaws, one of the things they did right is Albus Dumbledore's character development. it always seemed to me that the franchise no longer needs Newt for the story. Sure, he's the main character, but it's moved more onto Dumbledore and how hard his life as been. Newt seems to be more of a side plot now, so i hope the fourth instalment reverses this. One of my favourite form of symbolism in the film is Albus using the deluminator to go from the dark mirror dimension with Aurelius to the bright real dimension symbolizing both of them moving away from their darker sides similar to the shot of Snape going from the darker tone to brighter tone signifying the same thing. I have a feeling once we dig deeper we'll find more of such symbols that parallel to the original series.
grindlewald saying that dumbledore will be alone parallels with his final moment in the books. When Harry is going to die in the woods all his fallen loved ones meet harry together. But Albus meets him alone.
Albus has been my favorite character in HP and now I love him even more in Fantastic beast. I love to see his vulnerability and Jude portrays it so beautifully.
To add on to the point about Jacob when he says, "only a truly brave man could open himself up so honestly." reminded me of when Dumbledore told Harry, "You must have shown me real loyalty down in the Chamber. Nothing but that could have brought Fawkes to you." Because whether it was about Dumbledore or not, he believes in the people who are good and the people who are true and the way Jude Law portrayed young dumbledore was, in my opinion, one of the best performances through the 8 movies and Fantastic Beasts films.
I wasn't happy with Johnny Depp being removed as grindlewald but, the acting spoke for itself in the secrets of dumbledore. Im really sad that the final 2 might not happen anymore. I wish people watched this one, it's seriously an improvement. Other than just being fixer film, it's also a really good stand alone story (kind of). I really love how they handled Dumbledore's character. If people just put how bad the last one was and the fact that Johhny Depp was fired in the past and watched this one, we might have gotten a new one. I think it's the best one of the three.
@@hhw5208 Yeah, a new franchise just for duel, this wouldn't be stupid at all. If you simply abandon a "terrible" franchise and start a new one without an ending for the old one, the public will surely be eagerly awaiting the new one. Thanks for this fantastic video. Dumbledore has always been my most favourite character and after watching FB3 I have fallen in love with the character once again.
I really liked how the CoG and SoD expanded on the relationship between albus and dumbldore. It was so cool to see this and thats why i love these movies so much even after the negative attention these films get.
Don’t think that will happen. I think the 5th part of this series will take place in 1945, due to that being when Dumbledore and Grindelwald’s epic duel took place, and the first time Dumbledore was seen with his white hair and beard was in 1981 during the prologue of the first harry potter film/book. But maybe there’s gonna be some kind of Epilogue at the end of the 5th part, which I agree with you, that would be awesome.
@@CalculuzHD well his beard was longer in FB3 than in FB2. So I think his beard and hair continue to grow with each movie now and also get more grey. Though I don't think it will be as long or as grey as it was in Harry Potter
Dumbledore is actually only 7 years old than Newt’ bother. He is very young. He has the long silver beard when Newt has it too. If Newt don't have them. Dumbledore will not has it too.
Honestly this video has made me love this movie which i already thought was great even more! Thanks Movieflame great as usual. Best Harry Potter related channel on the internet
I enjoyed this movie! But the opening scene got me emotional with the chilin. Overall very well done in my opinion. Thank you for opening up and being an advocate for mental health!
Your video is absolutely perfect - well done! I've been wondering what happened in the final duel in 1945 that made Grindy decide to stay imprisoned in Nurmengard for the rest of his life (more than 50 years!) all alone - a powerful wizard who was afraid of loneliness (according to Mads Mikkelsen), who asked Voldy to kill him - maybe because Albus was already dead? Was there an 'Always' involved? Unfortunately Snape was killed and his reputation remained that of a Death Eater, but Albus succeeded in showing him, Newt and Harry the essence of what is worth fighting for.
Truly hoping there will be a next FB movie and that will be even better. I was confused and not happy with the second movie but the way the story flowed in Secrets of Dumbledore and how beautifully and of good taste they portrayed his love for Grindelwald and what made him become the man he was makes up for the chaos of the prequel. It was very emotional and it will have flaws of course, especially when we don’t have the book version (not screenplay one) to make up for details as it was done by the readers in the HP series. I can’t believe it didn’t bring box offices high. This one deserved it.
People are still hissing at the fact that Crimes of Grindelwald wasn't a generic "magical Pokemon" thing that they put on their minds the first movie was. I guess they just forgot about the Second Salemians, glimpses of Grindelwald's power and his cameo in the first movie and thought that the second one should have too.
It's really unfortunate that the Fantastic Beasts series is cancelled but I'm personally happy with these films (yes, even Crimes of Grindelwald). The best part of the series for me that isn't Newt Scamander or the beasts is easily the stuff with Dumbledore and Grindelwald. This film especially further helped make Dumbledore one of my top 5 favourite characters in the Wizarding World.
I love Albus and all, but I really hope the FB4 will be more on Newt's story. Perhaps even Tom Riddle could appear in it, and some other characterrs like Hagrid. And I mean, just imagine Newt talking to Hagrid, both loving the creatures in the wizarding world, it would be amazing. I also think, even though we all know the theme is Dumbledore vs Grindelwald, I think Newt should also fight Grindelwald, as well as Jacob. Jacob deserves a lot of story, which I hope to see in FB4. Also isn't this name just sick: Fantastic Beasts: The Battle of Scammander
@@Marvinuser Out of those two, I think Riddles of Scammander would fit bette,r as so far, we're going my last names: crimes of grindelwald, secrets of dumbledore. i was thinking battle, as i was saying that i wanted more action and battling for newt, but yeah riddles/legacy of scammader sounds amazing too!
Depends what year the film is based in. If 1941/1942, it could touch base on Myrtles death, Hagrids explosion, and if Tom was influenced by Grindelwald.
Dude the intro hit deep I had no idea you went through things makes sense I listen to these videos create peace and probably making them you create peace
I’ve always seen Dumbledore and Mcgonagall as platonic life partners. In my headcanon he keeps her at a distance bc of what happened with his sister and fears she’ll come to harm if he opens up to her too much
I am glad you did this video. I think Dumbledore is an excellent character showing how all our role models can have feet of clay and still be good role models. I’m sorry it took me so long to notice it.
Thank you!❤. I have only seen this once yet. But when I watched it I started to see like the music cross over. I could catch the Dumbledores. You must watch it on its own merit then be totally amazed when it crosses over. That is the magic. You are an adult now and like Hermione said everything's going to change. You are no longer at Hogwarts. Quit expecting cannon. Dumbledore said me being me explains all. Can't wait for the next movie.
I think they did dumbledores arc almost perfect, the only little issue I have is the qilin bowing to him which I think it should have bowed to newt or even jacob though with him rejecting the power of being the mugwump makes sense
@@firework-iu5sk Yes, but Qilin chose not only a kind and pure heart, but also someone who could lead people. She chose a leader. Newt is an amazing and kind person, but he never wanted to be at the head of something, he has his own ideas and perception of the world. That is why Qilin chose Albus. He is a very kind, smart and strong wizard, he could become an excellent leader, but because of the guilt inside himself, he refused this, because he knew that he couldn’t lead people behind him and resist Gellert (as required of him by the magical world)
Something I love about Newt and Albus's relationship is that in Crimes of Grindelwald, Newt always addresses him as Dumbledore, but in this one he calls him by his first name
Thank you, what a great video! It's because of your effort I can deeply perceive all those details that are usually numbed out by my struggling nervous system. It really helps me to still enjoy movies with my condition.

Morgan, since you covered all of Harry Potter & Percy Jackson here’s some more books turned to movie series to review - How to Train Your Dragon - The Chronicles of Narnia - The Hobbit - Lord of the Rings
Omg. I just thought of a theory about the Love Pact breaking. What if Aberforth casted a love protection onto Credence/or Albus, and it's what broke the love pact? And therefore could block the killing curse; and since Grindelwald didn't mean to make a horcrux, then none was done and the power of the killing curse bounced and instead of producing a horcrux broke the love pact? 🤔
@@g-forcemapping8454 i know. I want to clarify, I'm not saying that a horcrux took place in the battle to defend Credence. What I'm saying is that what if like Lili, Aberforth cast a love protection onto Credence, and since Grindelwald meant to kill Credence, same as Voldemort meant to kill Harry; the protection charm had the same effect of what Lili did but instead of a horcrux in Harry's case, the protection broke the love pact, since Grindelwald meant to kill Credence and not Albus and Aberforth made the love protection to him (Credence), bounced back to Albus and Gellart and broke their pact. 🤔 (I know there's some sense in there but my English is not letting me explain it correctly).
This movie made me realise the coolest thing about Dumbledore. It's that you never really know what he's going to say, just that it will be incredibly wise. The true Qilin was definitely right to bow to him.
Hey amazing video. I really like the acting in this movie as I'm an acting student and have always been a HP fan and the symbolism behind this film, but I have to point that just because Dumbledore lost Grindelwald as a romantic interest and never had romantic love again doesn't mean that he isn't alone or not loved cuz he has the love, support and family from Hogwarts!

How do you know what happened to Ariana Dumbledore? I've never heard that's what happened to her with the muggle boys. I figured her dad killed them as he spent the rest of his life in prison.
Yeah I've only read the books and they just say attacked her and she was scared now. Like did she get like beaten almost to death, sexually abused? Was it just little physical attacking mixed with their words? They make it seem like it really fucked her up so it had to be bad
Idk if this is the last of the wizarding world movies that they are gonna put out but a part of me hopes they delve into the first Wizarding War because we here about it so much in the original series and I would love to see what actually happened.
For all the flaws these movies have had, Dumbledore has been on point in ways I find hard to put my finger on. Everything about the dialogue, and Jude Law’s performance, basically just leave me feeling like I’m watching Dumbledore without question. I struggle to even understand why it’s so perfect. It just is.
Once again you've found some amazing details about movies I've never noticed before. The symbolism of things, metaphors, choices of words, etc. Your reviews are some of my favorite HP content out there. I personally thought the Chilin should have bowed to Newt or Jacob, but after watching this video, I feel there's a deep meaning in Albus' reaction to not wanting to become a leader. I need to watch this movie again today, I got so hyped from this video essay! Thank you Morgan for all the stunningly good content and the effort you put into these videos! It always makes my day to see you've uploaded something. ♥

that's why he is one of my favourite characters in series,he made mistakes especially in the marauders-golden trio era but he is very interesting and complicated person.
Agreed! I loved the movie
There will be no final two movies.
Warner Bros is not stupid enough to put the most epic duel in a terrible franchise.
they will make a stand-alone movie focusing on the duel itself
@@hhw5208 Yeah, a new franchise just for duel, this wouldn't be stupid at all.
If you simply abandon a "terrible" franchise and start a new one without an ending for the old one, the public will surely be eagerly awaiting the new one.
Yes, CoG wasn't great and it took way too long to release it, but that doesn't mean the whole franchise is ruined.
@@Karol-ei1fc Wizarding war should has its own series.
Do you mean Abberforth?
Man I really really hope they continue the films. I really want a part 4 and 5. Atleast make 2 more books
Me too. I really loved this movie
nope the film bombed .
@@patrickbliss9264 made over 400 million dollars which gives the series such a big step towards confirming the last 2 films will be made
@@markwarner1806 beasts 3 made 400 WORLD WIDE it's literally the least profitable movie in the Harry Potter universe lol
@@markwarner1806it’s the least profitable movie from the franchise including Potter franchise lol
When they eventually get to the 5th part, I'dd love to see Jude Law with the long silver beard and hair
@@CalculuzHD In the 6th book he had long red hair during the visit to the oprhanage, in 1937.
@@b-rabbit-95 ah well, Retcons happen
Dumbledore is actually only 7 years old than Newt’ bother.
He is very young.
He has the long silver beard when Newt has it too.
If Newt don't have them.
Dumbledore will not has it too.
Honestly this video has made me love this movie which i already thought was great even more! Thanks Movieflame great as usual. Best Harry Potter related channel on the internet
I enjoyed this movie! But the opening scene got me emotional with the chilin. Overall very well done in my opinion.
Thank you for opening up and being an advocate for mental health!
Ah Dumbledore
"I don't need luck, I'll be with Dumbledore"
You missed the part where aborforth's reaction (silent gesture) he makes when someone says thank you matches with HP series
God I love this movie. Yeah it's got flaws but my word is Jude Law a good actor
I loved the film very much. Don't know why people complaining about this film
Dude I'm so glad your talking about this! I felt this way as well! 3 is my favorite beast movie.
Also isn't this name just sick: Fantastic Beasts: The Battle of Scammander
i'd go with The Legacy of Newt or Riddles of Scamander ;)
@@Marvinuser Out of those two, I think Riddles of Scammander would fit bette,r as so far, we're going my last names: crimes of grindelwald, secrets of dumbledore. i was thinking battle, as i was saying that i wanted more action and battling for newt, but yeah riddles/legacy of scammader sounds amazing too!
@@SNINJAR exactly my point man ;P i hope they'll do something like that !
Depends what year the film is based in. If 1941/1942, it could touch base on Myrtles death, Hagrids explosion, and if Tom was influenced by Grindelwald.
@S Ninjar btw the N.E.W.T - Nastily Exhausting Wizarding Test ;) was named after Newt Scamander xD
"True mark of it's success." Totally. You just won me over with this.
I really appreciate your analysis of Albus's character arc. Thanks for making a great video!!
That got me too, Newt is the most pure heart character in the entire HP universe in my opinion.
He is a very kind, smart and strong wizard, he could become an excellent leader, but because of the guilt inside himself, he refused this, because he knew that he couldn’t lead people behind him and resist Gellert (as required of him by the magical world)
love how you point out why I like the movies, without me knowing what it really is that makes me like them! love the vids!
You ALMOST convince me to watch the movie. But thanks to this video, you sum up everything I need and want to know about the franchise.
Big mistake ... Read the books and watch the entire Harry Potter series ~ then the Fantastic Beast movies ~ they're the payoff ~ they're the best.
Morgan sounds like an english teacher, change my mind.
"Going fully under could represent how he dove headfirst into his destiny of being alone"
Something I love about Newt and Albus's relationship is that in Crimes of Grindelwald, Newt always addresses him as Dumbledore, but in this one he calls him by his first name
Great video. Morgan is our own Dumbldore.
This was an amazing video. Thank you so much for opening up about your diagnosis and congratulations again on four years sober.
Thank you, what a great video! It's because of your effort I can deeply perceive all those details that are usually numbed out by my struggling nervous system. It really helps me to still enjoy movies with my condition.
I really hope that Newt gets a bigger role in the next films, he's my favorite character.
Wow!!! Thankyou for making us fall in love with Dumbledore all over again. 🥰🥰🥰
Dumbledore's man, through and through!! ❤
your attention to detail man is just mind blowing. I really enjoyed your harry potter videos
Unpopular opinion but the recasting of Grindelwald was great here. Depp was too cartoonish, especially in comparison to Dumbledore.
Truest......Glad someone talked about this
I agree with you, I think that the work done on Albus (and other characters) made this movie series quite fun.
Tomorrow is my Maths exam and as soon as i got the notifications of Movieflame, I clicked. Because there is nothing important than Morgan talking about HP franchise!
I don't have social media, so I had no idea about you being 3 years sober! Congratulations, Morgan! Great video by the way!!
I literally just finished watching it, what a coincidence.
So much potential was lost, these movies could have been amazing. Maybe they get it right with a netflix series in 10 years
Sadly ... Actors like Jude Law and Eddie Redmayne come along only once in a lifetime.
Fortunately, they left behind a beautiful 3 movie composite, some of it Oscar worthy some of which we never even got to see in the released version of the films ~ check out Newt and Thesseus deleted scene ... just sad we didn't get all five movies. Although not perfect, nothing ever is, they were the best 3 of all the Wizarding World movies. ... peace.
Great Video as always! I really enjoy the Fantastic Beasts movies. 2 was subpar but 1 & 3 are really fun. Can't wait for the last 1 or 2.
We need a video of The Life Albus Dumbeldore
Morgan, since you covered all of Harry Potter & Percy Jackson here’s some more books turned to movie series to review
- How to Train Your Dragon
- The Chronicles of Narnia
- The Hobbit - Lord of the Rings
Thank you for the video, Morgan!
Yay! It's the thumbnail I voted for
What horcrux???????? This is Grindy not Voldy
@@g-forcemapping8454
i know.
@@grec. u dint understand harry potter did you , you can only give that protection by sacrificing ur life duh and aberforth is still alive
@@manassharma2290 because I didn't understand the love protection required the person's life doesn't mean i didn't understand HP. Lol. Calm down.
i saw the “paid promotion” tag thing when i tapped on this video and i was immediately so happy. Congrats on making it so far Morgan!
Can't believe this I was waiting for this 💗❤️
This movie made me realise the coolest thing about Dumbledore. It's that you never really know what he's going to say, just that it will be incredibly wise. The true Qilin was definitely right to bow to him.
The Best Comment Award goes to @mecanzie2741 and we bow to you. ... peace
Awesome video man, and I hate to hear what you have to go through I'm 29 and had my own demons to deal with like alcohol and trying not to be like my parents my my wife and kid have helped me get better and I hope you find yours much love to you and people in the comments
your analysis are always so incredibly thoughtful, such a joy to watch! thank you and bravo!!!
One of the next three movies better have Mcgonagall and Dumbledore hanging out being besties
They make it seem like it really fucked her up so it had to be bad
your videos are always the best thing to watch FR.
I can totally see him as the younger version of Richard Harris, both are great portrayal of book Dumbledore.
Idk if this is the last of the wizarding world movies that they are gonna put out but a part of me hopes they delve into the first Wizarding War because we here about it so much in the original series and I would love to see what actually happened.
Move over Peter Lukas, Dumbledore is the new most powerful avatar of the lonely.
For all the flaws these movies have had, Dumbledore has been on point in ways I find hard to put my finger on. Everything about the dialogue, and Jude Law’s performance, basically just leave me feeling like I’m watching Dumbledore without question. I struggle to even understand why it’s so perfect. It just is.
Wow! You've made some wonderful observations...well thought out, thank you!
every new release just keeps cementing Albus as my favorite character in the series 🫶
I love this movie series honestly and I really hope they finish making the last 2 films. I want to finish this story.
Dumbledore is such an amazing character
