While I definitely don’t agree with you being put in that situation, $20 for a mani AND pedi??? Did they expect a world class nail tech for that price!
To be honest I don’t know why people go to hair salons and expect amazing nails!!! Like ???????? Go to a nail salon 😇
I see 2 lessons here as a consumer.
This sounds like a failure on the business’s end not you. Not training, and you openly disclosed that you did not have a lot of experience with nails, and they went ahead and hired anyway.
Broooooo this is so much like nursing 😂 people think that just because you’re a nurse that you know everything and that is soooo not the case lol you learn as you go.
My first job as a teenager was being a receptionist in a nail salon. Tell me whyyyy the owner would force me to do nails when I had to experience what so everrrr. It was horrible. Never again. You look so pretty Sam!
As a former nail technician i find this outrageous. I had to spend 6 months to be able to do gel manicures on actual clients. Before then i was literally painting my colleagues nails with gel and literally trained pretty much every day. Doing nails is NOT easy. Its a 100% the owner's fault, so unprofessional even for 20$.
Omg that manager sounds like a piece of work 😳 I can't believe she made you talk to that upset customer and wanted you to lie. Her job as the owner is to deal with the upset customers. Especially since you're not in the position to give a discount or refund. I'm sorry you had to deal with that ❤ at least you were able to learn a new skill though!!

I loved this. Honestly I'm terrible at coloring hair, waxing, and doing nails. I worked in a full service salon where the manager bitched at me for needing trained again in color, waxing and nails when I had quit a two year career at a mostly mens barber shop to try full service. The salon atmosphere there was miserable and I got a few bad reviews and eventually quit after fighting with the boss a few times. So I'm still a stylist, I just work at a chain barber shop and I do freelance makeup and hairstyling for event/wedding on my own time. I am financially independent and quite happy with where I am. I know what I'm good at and I don't do services that make me miserable.
Hahaha that’s so funny how some clients complain like crazzzyyyy . I’m a nail tech so I definitely see everything what you said from a nail techs POV, I was also thrown to the wolves when I first started so I laugh when I read old reviews too 😂 they get mad they have an event a week later and expect nails to look like they just came out the salon. Not your fault ! Your boss is a joke for making you speak to her lmao. I’m the opposite tho I could NEVER do hair not my thing, but I still love your videos been watching you for years . I love how honest you were and they still made you do nails lmao what a joke. I loveeee your look in this video btw
Something similar happened to me when I first started at a spa. They just threw me in with no knowledge of certain services and it was a nightmare. So many complaints. Lol I got fed up and told them to either train me properly or stop giving me the services. They ended up training me and I eventually got them but it was a very frustrating start to my career. I nearly quit so many times. The only thing I absolutely refuse it’s hair. Even one color applications or even trims. I’ll never do hair again! Lol
This place sounds like a hot mess lol. Similar thing happened to me when I was working and was forced to do a Brazilian wax when I was never once trained on it lol.

my nail experience in cosmetology was the same way! we spent a week, maybe less on nails. and it was mostly just book work about the nail diseases. the more intricate things, like acrylics and such, were in a different class that we paid for if we wanted to learn more.. which i did not do haha
