Awesome stuff. Although the technology is not new it looks like a perfect tool. I’m used to this system on the old ATR 72 and their engines. The kit is incorporated into the airplane. Having data to correct instant is a big plus. Thanks for sharing
G’day Mike & co, why doesn’t the kit come with optional accessories of various weighted high tensile bolts? One of these would be fantastic for every airport mechanics to balance noisy vibrations, also from the sound and ground perspective too. Lol love the grip ties, so many applications...God bless all, Victoria Australia xo
Rubber Lined Zip Ties! (I'm not (yet) an Aviator so the Prop Balancer, although very interesting was not my takeaway) Love ya and will watch anything that you post
Why not use the mercury filled auto balancer that bolts between the crank and prop . I have seen one work , it smoothed the engine out . They are used on “experimental “ aircraft. The wear on crankshaft main bearings is greatly reduced because not only is the prop balanced but the crankshaft is balanced too .
For the last 150 hours I've been using a Balance Master (www.balancemasters.com/) on my Rotax 912S/Prince Prop, RANS S-7S combo. It, along with a properly balanced propeller like the Prince , combine to make it all smooth as possible. I also use a similar device on the wheels of my crane truck, and when I last bought new front tires, my tire shop (the best in my area) told me there was no need to balance the new tires in the conventional manner, the Centramatics would do it better, plus KEEP it them balanced as they wore and picked up snow, mud, etc. Point is, the concept of a centrifugal balancer, be it prop or tires, is well proven. I am NOT saying they are a cure all, but can work very well within their design limitations.
I'm glad I learned about this. I don't have a plane yet but for sure I will within the next 2 years and I'll do this to it. Thanks
Excellent video Mark, I'll check it out! Please keep them coming! I've learned so much from both you and Mike!! Awesome!

Just see mike pacing around in the background just wanting to “get back to work”.💪🏻

Thanks Mike I'm buying one right now. That 4k for the unit will save me lot more later on.
Grip lock ties are the BOMB!
Just ordered 40 ZipLockTies. Great. Love that grip and the fact that I don't have to cut and toss.
We need more of that.

Looks awesome! I just bought the old version. Ugh 😑 maybe they will let me upgrade. Looks WAY easier!
It's about a $2k difference in price between the standard model and this 😬
Awesome video, Mark!
Always dynamically balanced my props on my ultralights, big difference. (Late 70's-80's)
Thanks for sharing Mark .
You are amazing that you can slip in an add for your GripLocties and not detract from the video.
Wish I would have thought of that myself . Cool 👍
Cool new toy LOL They have a whole bunch of cool new toys!
Ya coulda added a washer.? Ground some bolt down to exactly the recommended grams.?
"I'm insane right now!"
Why no mercury or ball bearing filled prop balancer ring like they use for tires? Then it would always be balanced.
Can't balance as closely as this.
I use the MicroVib II works great
Nailed it?? Did they give you a cool shirt or a flower pot? They need that extra 5% that Mark Patey guy is always talking about. :-)
The scale. That was the homerun dinger
The scale is for weighing the "Product" when he gets back from Mexico@@InTransitStudio

It's MARK damn it.
I need to balance the Cub prop
A slick piece of electronic equimpment that will save $ over the hundreds of hours you fly.
"the controller has alot more bunk".... I can see that, Mark.
ok how much is it
where can i find patents for Stol aircarfts?
Patent office.

Not a bad price at 4k
Great tool! 4.5 stars for no Siri lol
Skål 🍺🍺🍺
I'm assuming someone on this crew has an A&P..?
For experimental aircraft?
Not required, thank God.
Because putting a couple of washers in the right place is pure rocket science, right?
@@PDZ1122 I remember an accident where a simple O-Ring became rocket science.
Too bad that your were not able to show how you added the weights to the prop. Maybe next time.
You bolt them on to the flywheel on Lycoming engines. There is a hole every 30 degrees.
Being insane is fine, it's going out of sane that's not good. 😁
Give me a second to poop out 4k lol
The more "Bungcens" the betterer.
