I like the way he makes it look as if he's just messing about with the keyboard and its effects, but he clearly has worked it out to the finest detail. How he manages to stay so deadpan is a mystery to me, too!! The man's a genius.
"An ebullient feel..." love him. Saw this genius more years ago than I care to mention in a wee comedy club. Over the 30 years since, this is the one that always sticks in my mind from that night - and the tears we cried. Sweets for the audience, as always. Mine was purple, my sister's orange. We swapped.
So unique hilarious and inoffensive , i took my 8 year old son to Bury St. Edmunds theater a few years back to experience the john shuttleworth phenomenon and he loved you, sorry about the lack of parking there for you're Austin ambassador y reg.
Grabbing a cheeky swig of pop (and I would hazard a guess it was Dandelion & Burdock) during the middle eight was the icing on the cake of this mans extraordinary talent.
When my oldest son was actualy being born "jilted John" was singing in the background, and no! ..... he is called Steven lol I love Mr Suttleworth and I can do his voice, unfortunatly few people know who he is so I dont get a lot of chance to do him ha ha
This guy is a true genius. I was born in the same village as he came from, in sheffield. I also live very near the, Junction 31 of the M1,that he mentions in this song. I love this song. Think he's a brilliant song writer. check out, Leave my Daughter alone, vid. would love to meet him if he's looking at this. Everyone, should see and hear this guy, He'd cheer up anyone, Even my psychiatrist, whos, not feeling very good at the moment. Wonder Why ?. Thanks John, for, making me laugh so much.`

Me and my brother wet ourselves at this when it was on. It's still hilarious. A true legend.
Absurd comic genius. I feel sad for people who don't 'get' this. Thanks.

I haven't seen this since it was first shown on the TV. It's just as funny today as it was back then, thanks for posting!
The legendary versatile singer songwriter !!!
I remember for a time in the eighties not being allowed to camp out because of the fox

+Ron Wylie Oooof ... Same here Ron, but its well good when you ocasionally meet a fellow Shuttlefan.
There must be millions of men out there saying "it's not proving too easy" like us lol
Thank you, thank you! I haven't seen this for at least 10 years. Hasn't stopped me quoting it from memory though.
