how can I learn the size of a suspension for an average military vehicle?

I call BS on the 6" to 8". We currently use the FMTV with leaf springs and I would guesstimate it at least 12". Army would not have bought it if it can't even have a suspension travel greater than a soccer mom's CUV. LoL

At least they did the bare minimum and repackaged a decades old design.

6 to 8" of travel for the existing beam axle? Thats a disaster if true. Hard to believe though.

@bonzology thats upward travel only. If someone says "travel" it should mean total, although typically in that context it might be vertical only, it might exclude articulation travel.

Thats typical for every beam axle truck , commercial trucks have even worse

independent suspension means less roll overs, bad for offroading esp in armored truck.
