Here's a great bit of nostalgic Walt Disney World Resort television. Jiminey Cricket introduces us to 1987's vacation kingdom of the world, Walt Disney World.
2:27 Wait! Is that the same mirrored castle float they used in the 25th anniversary, and even parades as recent as preCOVID closure 2020?!? That’s amazing! I wonder how truly old the float actually is!
7 years late but.. thanks for uploading this :) It's weird how I loved watching the DW TV info channel when staying there lol I haven't stayed there since the early 2000s when they started to price out normal families :(
NO WAY!! '87 was my first ever trip to DisneyWorld when I'd just finished first grade. Had this on all the time when we were at the hotel. Thanks for posting this. So many memories coming back to me right now.
"We recommend you take at least two full days..." Of course you would. ;-) Great selling strategy… but I feel like it's a little late once folks are already on-site and in their hotel.
2 years late to reply LOL but my first stay there was in 77' and we stayed at DW's free campsite" Yes, they used to have a place you could pitch a tent for FREE!" No power outlets, just tap water spots and bathrooms with gym-style showers. NO clue when they did away with the free campsites. my 2nd time staying there was in 1979 and we stayed at a normal hotel there. but that was my first trip to river country. It was great and they had an open pit bbq the first day we went. I would say it was free but was part of being a hotel guest lol longest line was about 20mins for Space mountain. I miss those days :(
Stayed in may 1987 near the shopping village that is now Disney springs. Remember we had golf cart that could drive to shop or to eat at lake buena vista club
Saw him walking around Tomorrowland at Disneyland in 2018. They don’t have the Utilidoors in Anaheim, so I’m guessing he was on his way to Fantasyland.
Yet even before COVID, off peak season was packed despite how expensive it got. They’ll keep prices high until they actually start needing guests to visit. Crowd control. Plus, I seem to recall that when it was more affordable, 70s-90s, most of these families treated it like a once in a lifetime trip. They didn’t go every year.
Antonio Barrera Some of us who grew up with this magical era prefer to live our memories there. Not everything needs to be latest & greatest to be considered the best.
+Antonio Barrera The newest Disney resort TV shows with Stacey have gotten boring, seeing old videos of how things were is interesting, such as seeing restaurants with different names from today or attractions that don't exist any longer.Another old favorite is the Zip a Dee Doo dah resort tv shows from the 90's.
My youngest son was born in 1987. He grew up going to and loving WDW and lives in the Orlando area today. Still, I miss the older, simpler WDW (although the food is much better there today).
this is evil you know why I'm never going to disneyworld because there's disgusting secrets and I'm never going to Disney EVER AGAIN THIS IS CREEPY AND EVIL I HEAED ON RUclips THAT THERE TALKING ABOUT DISNEY BIENG CREEPY AND RIVER COUNTRY IS ABANDOED
This is the WDW era i miss most. It was manageable and wholesome which kept it magical.
This brings back so many beautiful memories. If only there was a way back to those times. Thank you so much for posting this.

This was the year I visited Disneyland for the very first time in California. I visited walt disney world the following year.
Thanks for posting, great memories. Miss river country. Like the old Poly lobby,
Video would have been on TVs at the resort the 1st time I was there around 7 years old. This was awesome, thank you.
Thanks for posting this! I love seeing WDW in the era I was born in.
Hey, what happened ot new posts..t
I was there that year I was 7 and looking at it now everything looks so old lol not how I remembered it.

Hey, thanks for posting these retro WDW videos.
I saw this video the first time I went to Disney World, and it brought back such wonderful memories! Thanks for posting this video; I really loved it!
We actually have some of those old guides and brochures in our photo albums. They were from my mom's visits to WDW. I wasn't alive yet back then.
I miss seeing this stuff! Thanks for sharing. We have some archive videos on our page too!
Wish I was born around this time to experience river country, and seeing how Magic Kingdom and Epcot were so different

I really wish Disney would bring back the old "Disney Channel"!

Very 1970s looking for s 1987 one.
I was just 2 years old when this was running on WDW Resort television
16:28 The Three Little Pigs are long gone too
12:07 Gideon Cat, he's long gone
Saw him walking around Tomorrowland at Disneyland in 2018. They don’t have the Utilidoors in Anaheim, so I’m guessing he was on his way to Fantasyland.
The Little Mermaid was just 2 years away from being released, the start of the Disney Renaissance Era
Disney MGM Studios was just 2 years away from opening
and to think, in 11 years time discovery Island will close and all the animals will be relocated to Disney's Animal kingdom
😍😍😍😍
and to think, in 20 years time The Living Seas would be renamed The Seas with Nemo and Friends
and to think, in 14 years time River Country will close, after Typhoon Lagoon and Blizzard Beach will both overpower River Country
I saw Captain Eo when they brought it back after Michael Jackson died
Too bad they've priced themselves out of many families budgets.

Antonio Barrera Dude, it's a historical look at the past. Disney already has the modern videos posted; here, they're posting what was for posterity.
