Thanks for this video, this certainly has helped give me some context for how to do my own video on what is theology and why it is important. What I think is so dope about the way in which theology is explained here is that it sorta speaks against the assumption that theology can only be learned in a university, and instead asserts the implication that because theology is our attempt to know God better it stands to reason that anyone who meditates on their the Word of God day and night will in a sense be studying theology.

It's not just the charismatics who fervently embrace "Lite theology". There is little more than getting wet in so many baptisms, no one can explain it Scripturally. And knowing why we must we must properly partake the Lord's supper, well we have met very few adults who can explain the significance of the elements.

This is good..I'm a cessationist and arminian and I just left a church that didn't care for theology..
Yes they had programs, youth, they seemed friendly..but theology was put on the back burner... things like Andy Stanley talking points were pushed in small groups..
Theology didn't matter and when I sensed the heresy they were silently endorsing and the heresy their one teacher was pushing..I called out out, they refused to address it and I personally addressed the campus pastor about it,he refused to address it.. that's dangerous...
      Theology matters so much..

I genuinely hope and pray that more and more Christians would understand this. Theology is as vital as sustenance is for a living human being.
Without Theology, it will be way too easy for people to fall into damning doctrines that distort the person of Christ Jesus and the God of the Judeo-Christian Scriptures as a whole.
Yes, Scripture is the only inerrant and infallible source for every believerʼs faith. But it is Theology that informs our reading of Godʼs Word. Godʼs Word of revelation in the Scriptures carries with it the message of doctrines that build the theological foundation of Christianity itself.

Jesus and Theology are both needed, in my opinion. For instance, we need to know who Jesus is, His attributes, his nature, his relation to us, to the universe, to science. We need to know our Truine God, creation, sin, salvation, etc...

If we don't engage in theological studies, our Jesus appears indistinguishable from the Jesus of the Jews who just call him a good teacher, the Jesus of Mormonism (Latter Day Saints), and the Jesus of the Muslims.

We aren’t saved by our theology. We are saved by the grace of God alone through faith alone (and even our faith is a gift of his grace).
At the same time, however, Christians wish to tell other people about him - wish to encourage other people to trust him - and theology (the study of God) can help us avoid giving people a wrong impression about who he is and how he relates to us sinners.
When people say they have no use for theology, most of them probably mean that they have no use for dogmatism - the tendency for professed Christian to declare that anyone who understands Jesus or explains Jesus differently than they do is heretical.

No, it's not fair to say that we need theology to expain what we mean when we say things like Jesus died for our sins or that Jesus told us to love our enemies or what have you. We do need to 'define' words we use, like 'believe', e.g. - that task doesn't require an elaborate matrix of theology. It is enough to understand THAT God created everything. It is enough to know THAT Jesus died for our sins, etc. Delving off into the why's and wherefores only created confusion, controversy and division. The only thing theology gives rise to is - our saying "I amd right and you are wrong". I am IN and you are OUT.
Theology has us swallowing camels and straining gnats

that we henceforth be no longer children, tossed to and fro and carried about with every wind of doctrine by the sleight of men and their cunning and craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive; Ep4:14.
At this day and age, exerting effort to know and become sure footed on our theology is imperative. These are the days o f the great deception and deceivers doesn't always act, look and sound like the devil. They are definitely goats in sheep's clothing or some just honestly deceived and confused Christians themselves.

So you are saying, that because I don't follow theology which is man-based and not God-based, that I don't have Jesus wow, do realize that theology is all about believing and not knowing about Jesus, how about you get back to me and get back to me know when you know about Jesus Christ, because theology is all about believing what Jesus is and putting him in a box and we don't need to put Jesus in a box, he does not belong in a box, And we need to put theology doctrine and religion behind.
we need to follow the word of God which is the Bible, and God's understanding.
stop trying to understand the Bible with your understanding, every time we try to understand the Bible with our own understanding we will fall and we will bring out the Bible out of context if we do that that is why we look to God's understanding and his strength and his power because he is enough and he will always be enough because he is sufficient!!

Romans 10:9-10 simply explains how to be saved. Theology and human philosophical rhetoric can send you directly to hell when it becomes more important than what the Bible says. Theology in itself can very easily be a stumbling block to a Christian. The Bible needs to be what guides a Christian, not man-made Theology.

I am finding out today and a rain storm in Scottsdale, Arizona, that my next-door neighbors brother wrote this book titled as
evil and a selection of its theological problems
The way I was raised these books are from deceiving lies. What’s your take on this book
If you knew the whole story, why am in Phoenix from Colorado and you would understand that I don’t believe my neighbor is with God, or Jesus, my savior. He blows weed in my window on purpose. He gave me a restraining order a day after I got out of my condo for filing for sewage, mold, and dead mice. He’s thrown me in jail several times he’s definitely not from Jesus what’s your thoughts of the book?

Barry _allen I'm not sure if you're genuinely unaware of things, or if you're just trying to start an argument. If you're genuinely unaware, Jesus was/is God, and when he was living on Earth he was also human. Not 50/50, 100% both. He was fully divine God, yet his humanity caused him to seek baptism and annointing by the Holy Spirit. When that happened, he used his divine authority (which he had demonstrated at a much younger age) to go about the work he had come to accomplish. If you're just trying to start an argument, then disregard my comment and let it go. I have no desire to debate anyone in RUclips comments.

    • @dukulai
      @dukulai 6 лет назад

Brandon Davis if you say so. But what you just said is very confusing. Isn't 100% both the definition of a demigod? Jesus also said in John 17 that the glory he had b4 the foundation of the world was given him by Yahweh, God gave his son godhood, it was given to him not something he had originally. Lastly, the book of Hebrews says to save us Jesus had to be exactly like us not a species that's 100% God and 100% human. Humans are just 100% human period.
PS. I TOO AM UNINTERESTED IN RUclips COMMENTS ARGUMENT. THIS IS MY FRANK UNDERSTANDING AFTER READING THE BIBLE
