Red Bull won't be sponsoring anything in Nascar as Red Bull pulled out of the American motorsports market over a decade ago. Shanes Red Bull sponsorship is via the Asia Pacific arm of Red Bull not the International Red Bull arm and it's only a personal sponsorship endorsement deal limted to helmet signage. Any funding for Red Bull sponsorship internationally would have to be signed off by the international arm of Red Bull. The Red Bull endorsement deal was a tie in with Triple 8 Engineering sponsorship of their Australian supercar team.
Yep, never watched NASCAR before shane entered the series, really enjoying it now. SVG and Scott mclaughlin as a bathurst wildcard entry needs to happen
#88 and #888 are numbers used in Australia V8 Supercars Team Triple Eight Motor Sport. SVGs old Team. I assume that #97 was already taken in the Nascar Cup Series. 🇦🇺
When they opened it to questions afterwards a reporter asked Justin about Zane and he acted cold and then said it's just about SVG today....which I found bizarre. Didn't work out wish him the best and move on
@@jessbrown1830 Nope, SVG is one of the best all round race drivers on the planet, it would be extremely stupid to treat him like that, makes Zero sense....
They did talk to Hendrick, Dale Jr. and Kelley before they used it. I am surprised that no one was purchasing the number though. I figured Hendrick would have hung on to it. It's a mediocre payment for such an iconic number.

He's very good on road courses, but everywhere else he is below mediocre. And a bigger learning curve in the Cup series. He's going to really struggle. He's averaged a 15.6 place finish in Xfinity. Take away the road course wins and his average finish is 18th. That's in Xfinity... put him up against Cup drivers and he'll be in the 25th range if all goes well. Justin Marks has been pretty dang good over the past 3 years or so in his decisions... this one is going to be a miss, I'm afraid. On the flip side, if they want him in Cup and are going to have him there no matter what, might as well move him up there and let him makes his mistakes in Cup, other than I'm guessing those mistakes are more expensive in a Cup car than an Xfinity car.
If a third, a fourth and a sixth on an oval on your first visit to the track in a racecar and discipline you are still learning is mediocre than I'd say you have some lofty expectations there Pal. Or Mate, because I'm Aussie.
Watch his interview about his time in X,finity, said he's learning about the car's behaviour,an the X finity are way off from what he's used to in the Supercars, but the cup car's are very similar to what he's driven down here, Don't diss someone you're not seen much of, he's a demon behind any type of vehicle, open top, rally, tintop He's been there one season, and he's better than a lot of driver's,that were born into these race's and car's
That 88 would look sweet with a Red Bull livery 💪

Really excited to see this announcement. I’m pulling for him!
Would love if you all would post the full press conference.
Triple Eight Motor Sport (V8 Supercars Australia) use #88 and #888. That was SVGs previous role/Team.
Maybe Redbull will get back into Nascar...
Fuck yeaaah SVG let’s go!
Hell yeah
Awesome news, go the Gizzzzzzzzz
Sweet! Great News! Interesting # choice!

That number looks very similar to Dale jr
Now Ross needs to sign Shane up for the Moose Lodge.
👏
888 run 88 maybe Redbull or part ownership behind scenes...

I think Shane should watch out . He is old for cup racing and track house is brutal when they are done with you .

And he was 100% correct, this was about Shane, his new drive and his new number, what exactly is so bizarre about that ?
I thought Hendrick owned the 88 rights
Nope, no one did anymore

Gerry Pine
Should have kept the 97
Probably will in Xfinity...
2025 #88 Welcome to middle of the pack racers..SVG
You don't know him very well. The cup cars are also closer to what he's used to racing....

Bigup Kosherhouse cru, prrrau prrrau, skrrrrrt skrrrrrt.
Who let this fool drive Dale jr number wtf
trackhouse racing did.
Well a track house driver is driving the 88 in xfinity next year so makes sense for consistent branding
It's a number mate, take a chill pill lol
Chill out man, Dale Jr doesn't own it, Plus Trackhouse done the right thing & enquired about it.
Grow up mate...

He’s held his own. Not to mention, he’ll do better in the next gen cup car.
