Hi Mary Nurse here. One thing I'd add to your First Aid Kit is Super Glue or cheaper equivalent. The only difference between that and the surgical glue used in Hospitals is that the Hospital version has a blue colour in it. Very good for cuts on the Trail.
You must be getting very excited, as am I, for this new adventure. Your equipment is well thought out, very well detailed also. I must say I had never heard of that particular form of toothpaste, I will certainly look into it, I get tired of the mess and waste of regular toothpaste. Thanks for the video, I can’t wait. I’m very happy Derek is going with you. What beautiful memories you are creating. 🙏🏻🥰
I am so pleased to see you using the doggy bags. So often when I am out hiking I see waste toilet paper thrown in the bushes, I just wish more people would have the decency to use doggy bags and keep the countryside tidy.
Nice amount of gear. I would never leave my puffy because it doesn't weigh hardly anything but it sounds like you are not tenting so it's probably ok. John from MI
Interested to see someone taking coconut oil on a thru hike. I use it so much at home, but have always been weary taking it on trail. I might have to find a little container for it and give it a go. Works really well for chafing and sooths pretty much any skin issue I've experienced.
Sorry Mary but I don't see the info link about the trousers/tights you are taking. Love your videos and so looking forward to you doing this trail and vlogging as you go.
Thanks Margaret 😊 I didn’t link everything I was taking, but I got the tights from Alpkit and they are called Koulin and the trousers were from Decathlon.
It's Maria, I liked the yellow, red tents. I found the 2 seater comfortable and I have no experience in camping. And as I told you, the mountaineering people of Minas Gerais really like Pico da Bandeira.. The only place I ever camped when I was a kid was in my aunt's backyard. 😝 Minha Nossa Senhora, But of course in my teens. I've climbed several mountains, but much smaller. Maria, See if you can find a video of Serra da Moeda. Au Revoir 🎩
Hi Mary My husband and I are going to do the Coast to Coast in next couple of years. He is from the UK. I am Australian. We both enjoyed the video of Part 1. I am recently vegan so an hoping you can comment on the ability to find vegan options along the walk. Also interested to know what sports top you use. I usually wear a sports bra but would like a top but can never find one I like. I also wear the ex officio undies. They are great for travelling. Dry so quickly. And I wore the Brooks Cascadias on my Camino trip four years ago so am a big fan of those too.
Hi Fran thanks so much, so glad you enjoyed the video! I’ll be doing a video about resupplying along the trail so it’ll help you for sure! The bra I mainly use for hiking is an Under Armour crop top style as well as another one which I don’t know the brand for I’m afraid as I’ve had it a while. The tops I mainly hike in are Mountain Warehouse as they aren’t too expensive so it doesn’t matter if I get caught in brambles wearing it 😂
@@MarysOutdoorAdventures thanks Mary for the response. Looking forward to planning this walk to coincide with my husband's 60th. We will be doing it around the same time of year as you have done it ie. Autumn in the northern hemisphere (our Spring in Oz obviously). Can't wait. Still so long away but we have plenty of training walks we can do before then! Best wishes!
Hi Mary, thanks for the gear list, always so helpful! How are you getting on with the G7X M3?I’ve read some not great reviews so was considering the M2 version. Thanks :)
Thanks Emma, I only upgraded to Mk3 for microphone input as the Mk2 wasn’t compatible. I preferred the Mk2 as the auto focus isn’t great, I have to manually focus each time so to be honest I use my photo a lot of the time instead!
@@MarysOutdoorAdventures Thanks. It looked smaller in your film. I'm planning to do the C to C and considering a 35 litre pack. No camping. I'm 70 now and have gotten attached to creature comforts.
There is two of us and Derek had a powerbank just in case. Also we can charge everything up each night too. If I was solo hiking I would of course carry one.
Where's the tent 😅 jokes aside I'm autistic and attempting this onmmy own in mate 2.6kg forclaz mt100😂 dno how well it will go but I've done 330 miles this month local walking my dogs on the hills doing a few days withnthe tent and a dog next week to test run the tent but had ok reviews
As YHA is a youth charity, they were advised that to further improve their arrangements to provide a safe environment for all of their guests, in particular young people, gaining photographic identification was recommended.
Looking forward to you hike. I always use doggie bags when hiking.🦋❤
Thank you for sharing the great information. Look forward to the hike
Your load out is based on a lot of experience. Good info.
Your kit is so lovely and organized, even down to the color palette of blues, greens and purples!
Useful and solid content. Thanks for sharing.
Very informative and it reminded me about a few things. Thanks for that. Im attempting it for the 3rd time in May 2023. Hope I complete it this time
So glad it helped Paul, thank you and have a great hike - 3rd time lucky! 😁
I just watched a woman hike this trail lasted a hour and a half 192 miles. Y’all are going to enjoy the trail from what I seen

Great tip! I’ve used that before on trail to fix split skin on my thumb and forgot all about that one.
Very informative video Mary and good to hear all your helpful tips!
Thanks Andrew!
Looks like a solid, and comfortable load out Mary. Have fun and enjoy.
Can’t wait to follow along.
Happy Trails
Looking forward to seeing your videos. We followed you along the PCT and throughly enjoyed the journey!
Thanks so much, I hope you enjoy these just as much ☺️
Great to see this 😃 fab list! X
A thoroughly thought-out kit, as always. I'm looking forward to the vlogs. Thanks, Tink.
thanks so much Keith 😁
So helpful for anyone planning a long distance hike x
Enjoy the hike, I did it recently and loved it
Such a great trail!

It’s an awful sight isn’t it! I just couldn’t bring myself to do that.

I know, even at the last minute I doubted it but I didn’t need it 😄

I swear by the stuff and I use it for lots of things 😁

Excellent many thanks for replying. Loved the first video of your trip 😍

Silly question but could I ask where you got your little tub of coconut oil from. Would love one of these for my backpack. Thanks Mary
It was from Holland and Barrett, but it was a long while ago as I refill it from a larger glass jar of coconut oil I buy.

Hi, what is the packed weight of your pack please?
💖
how many litres was the pack?
50 litres

Why are you not taking a Power Bank (Battery), are you solely relying on changing everything at where you stay each night…..?
There is two of us and Derek had a powerbank just in case. Also we can charge everything up each night too. If I was solo hiking I would of course carry one.
