    YES, 40 minutes worth of adventure is just what I needed on this Monday morning.
    Whether it be misty, pouring or sunshine it’s all so captivating. Gorgeous diverse terrain throughout, what a pleasure to be a part of this trip. I love the (very different and beautiful) sheep,also the insects and all other creatures add so much to the video and of course the well chosen music 😊
    It’s all about having the time of your life, mission accomplished.
    Thank you both for having us tag along. 🙏🏻🥰

    Beautiful first section. It's a shame you got wet but this is England, it's what we expect. It's vlogs like this that pick me up when I'm slacking on my Ethel Challenge and give me the boost I need. Looking forward to the next section. Thanks for sharing Mary.

    Did the walk Sept 22 - enjoying the videos as they provide so many memories. Only live in Whitehaven (6 miles to St Bees) so next year thinking of catching the train over to RHB/Whitby and walking my way back home. Looking forward to the next installment.

    😁 Fabulous and stunning video Mary and Derek. You would be forgiven for mistaking the Lakes for the Scottish Highlands along the low route if it weren't for the herdwicks. Fantastic hostels along the way and the cafe at honister slate mine, well that's a day visit in itself 😁 Excellant photography, trail information and as always Your smile and enthusiasm along the way.. Looking forward to the Yorkshire Dale's section 😁 Glad you both had a great time x 😁

    Mary, love your videos. Your voice is so distinctive, even when I am randomly flicking through RUclips hiking videos I recognise your voice every time. Coast to coast, 200 miles wow, I am so impressed. Wish my Mrs had your energy and sense of adventure, recently did the west highland way solo but would have been so much better with a partner. Your partner is very lucky.

    What a great hike, love the views , never knew England had such rugged scenery! And no trees to block view, here in States you have to be out west or above tree line for such views. Love your posts! Don from Mansfield Tx.

    Shap has three very nice megalithic standing stones in it. Running NW-SE there is a 14 mile long line of thirteen stone circles. Three are right next to the trail.

    Hi Mary, I’ve just found your Chanel and loving your videos. I’m planning the coast to coast across 12 days and want to maximise using YHA’s. Is there any chance you could reply with where you stayed on your itinery please? I’ve watched your planning videos so I know you locations but a list of the accommodations used would be helpful. I’m going to use a Sherpa service for my bag and try stay in hostels / B&Bs where possible. Thank you, keep up with the videos 😊

  • @howardmcknight9773
    @howardmcknight9773 2 года назад +1

    You certainly had some long days especially in the lakes Mary, you both must be fit doing the mileage you did each day, it's a pity you didn't see the lakes in all its glory with all the mist, after doing the high route from Borrowdale to Grasmere did you do the St. Sunday Crag route to Patterdale or did you come down the low route, even so you both seem to be enjoying it and as always beautifully filmed.

    • @MarysOutdoorAdventures
      @MarysOutdoorAdventures  2 года назад

      No we didn’t do the St Sunday Crag route, we stayed on the lowest route possible!

  • @johnalden5821
    @johnalden5821 2 года назад +1

    I really admire your navigation skills. Up there on a mist-enclosed moorland, the idea of a trail looks pretty fungible. It would be so easy to drift off onto another little sheep track and not be able to tell without any visual cues. Are you using map apps with GPS, or just reliable old map and compass -- or both? Anyway, you make it look easy. Of course, I am coming from tree land, where we are spoiled with blazes on the trees every 20 meters or so.

    • @MarysOutdoorAdventures
      @MarysOutdoorAdventures  2 года назад +1

      I mainly used a map on my phone for this trail John. I plotted the route for each day before we left (including alternate routes for bad weather days). I also had my Garmin InReach as a backup as well as Derek having it all on his phone too.
