30 Barriers and Handrails

This lecture covers the design of protective barriers around stairs and changes of level within homes. It covers the minimum and maximum dimensions for the height of barriers and handrails and it also talks briefly about the headroom required over stairs.
All information is delivered in relation to the Scottish building regulations but the principles of the design will apply elsewhere.
