@jackalldiytech. Thanks for the reply Actually both are same, IPS, 100hz, 23.8 inches. The only difference is Acer is showing 1ms response time and LG is 5ms . The main thing I am concerned is about the built quality and lifespan. Or after sales services.
@@jackalldiytech also Acer is arriving tomorrow, but today I got this LG offer is less price which is same as the acer240Y. So I am confused if I should cancel Acer and order Lg or stick to my order.
From what I see is that Acer uses VRB (Visual Response Boost - The VRB feature works by employing techniques such as overdrive and strobing the backlight to minimize perceived motion blur). So that is why they market 1ms response time, but this is not gray to gray response time. I can't speak about Acer's monitor build quality or their aftersale services as I never had an Acer product - look up what the warranty for the two monitors is and what the warranty covers.
I imagine that you should be able to test the Acer monitor to see if it meets your needs. But I don't know how consumer are protected in your country and if you have any return period for items ordered online.
Displaying a full screen black image with lights turned off: there is some glow but nothing major in my opinion. As for text fringing, I have crisp text.
@jackalldiytech Thank you very much for such quick response! By fringing it means the colors on the edges of the texts & fonts even tho it's crisp. Currently the only budget monitor i found with the best quality (including black levels) is HP M24 webcam monitor (205$ here) another is probably Lenovo L24i-40 (185$) but reviews are scarce, so not sure :(
@NoobSvCy The prices in some places are extremely high! Prior to answering, I did have to look up what fringing meant, in the context of text display on monitors. There is no text fringing, I would notice it by now as I read and write text, I'm typing out this comment and I also do some coding. Is the monitor that I got an above average unit when it comes to quality? I would certainly hope not.
Hi, this monitor does not have G-Sync support, since that feature costs extra money and this is a cheap monitor. However, it does support Free-Sync, but you may need to be enabled it in the monitor settings.
True, FreeSync is AdpativeSync (it's just a marketing ploy) which means you can also use it with nVidia GPUs (as I do). However, if you go into the nVidia control panel you will not see the G-Sync option. So it does not have G-Sync as G-Sync is nVidia proprietary and costs extra money if manufacturer want's to include it, which they won't do for a cheap monitor, at least not at this point in time. However, that is the information that I have, I might be wrong so feel free to correct me.
@@jackalldiytechWell, it has FreeSync/AdaptiveSync. Yes you are right, it works on nvidia gpu though theoretically it suppose to have the GSYNC option popping up on the control panel since it could do FreeSync eventhough the monitor is not validated for gsync support. Though, the reason behind this is nvidia are ass for hardware locking it and needing specific requirements like it requires a 1000 series or newer gpu and only works on DisplayPort. Sadly, this monitor only has Hdmi so that's why the "setup gsync" wouldn't show up. I tested a bunch of FreeSync monitors on nvidia gpus. Most of the cases the "setup gsync" doesn't show up when you are using hdmi or dvi-d connections.
Overall I am satisfied with the monitor. It hasn't given me any problems. However, I'm not thrilled that the back thumb stick controls every setting, even the on/off. But I guess this is now a thing on the cheapest monitors and it's something I/we have to accept.
There is a significant difference, spec wise: The ultragear has a VA panel, 144Hz over HDMI and 165Hz over DP, true 8bit, 2x HDMI 2.0, 1x DisplayPort 1.2 Price is $140-150? Which is almost double so it should be a better monitor. For similar specs to the ultragear and possibly even lower price you could look into KTC H24T09P. The geekbuying website usually has good deals on these monitors, but if you want to get even better deals you have to be subscribed to their newsletter.
Hey, you can use the monitor with DP-HDMI, connecting DP to graphic card and HDMI to monitor. The DVI-D - HDMI might work, I say might because you usually connect newer display connection type to the GPU and the older type to the monitor. That is because the adapters usually don't convert from older to newer types. I have never tested it so I can't say if connecting HDMI to GPU and DVI-D to the monitor will work, but I do know that the opposite does work.
Hey, thanks for the question. This monitor only has 1 HDMI port, so as it is you could only connect 1 device at a time (switching cables). You can however avoid that by getting an HDMI 2 in 1 switcher. Since the cheapest HDMI switch costs like $6-12 you could also look into monitors with 2 HDMI ports. Since you mentioned ps5, you will probably want a monitor with more than 120hz if you want 120fps, otherwise you will be limited to 60fps on the ps5. You can look at my last 2 videos for cheap 24 and 27 inch monitors with 144Hz or more, the cheapest one being $100 on Amazon US (ktc h24t09p).
Hi, no worries and thank you for the question. This is not an all in one PC if that is what you are after, this is only a monitor (providing you a picture). If you're interested in this monitor you will need a computer (or a laptop) to which you will connect your monitor and mouse - plugging them into a USB port.
This monitor does not have built-in speakers, but it does have a 3.5mm audio jack so you can use headphones or connect speakers to it. However, the audio chip on your motherboard most likely has a better sound quality.
I have a work laptop that is 60 hz, when plugged into my home monitor (165 hz) it can only reach 60hz in settings, so I would be wary, see if you can find out more info
I would not know as I have not used that monitor. But I can say that the colour looks ok, at least to me, after adjusting the RGB values based on my eye vision. Using a colorimeter would be ideal of course, but most of us don't have one as we don't buy monitors that often.
Hey, thanks for the question. Anything over 60Hz is noticeable, especially in fast moving scenes like FPS games. And in case you intend on using the monitor for a long time I suggest you get a monitor with 120Hz or more. This is my recommendation of 8 24" monitors under $100 that I would consider buying. Edit, forgot the link ruclips.net/video/Uf2F71DgsSw/видео.html
You're welcome. This is a great monitor for the price, maybe there'll be monitors for even less by the end of the year. The next step up would be a 24" monitor with 144Hz or more. And the "end game" would be a 27" monitor with 2560x1440px resolution at 144Hz or more. Which you can already buy new for less than $200 (I just released a TOP 5 video), but for that kind of a monitor you also need a good GPU if you want to play games at max resolution and 144+ fps.
Hey thanks for the question. I don't know how I could effectively capture the sound with my headphones. I tried recording it via the OBS using different sources for the "desktop" audio, but when I then edit the audio I don't hear a difference. HOWEVER, there is a day and night difference if you use the audio from the monitor or if you use audio from your motherboard (the motherboard sounds a lot better). To put it in perspective, the monitor audio sounds flat but it'll work if you need it as an emergency. But I would not use the monitor audio long term.
The MR version is better and below are the key differences MR vs MP: Year - 2023 vs 2021 Contrast - 1300:1 vs 1000:1 Refresh - 100Hz vs 75Hz Audio out - Yes vs No
@@jackalldiytechNevermind! I was just finally able to see the bit depth of the 24MP and saw that it is in fact 6bit FRC as well. Thank you nonetheless
Hey @@lavanyamaddipati4251 If you want to adjust the volume simply use the thumb stick and push it to the left or right (once in the menu you can also use down for mute). However, you will need headphones or external speakers (with a 3.5mm plug) as the monitor does not have built-in speakers.
Do you mean if it can be rotated into portrait mode? It can not as the stand only has tilt adjustment. But it does have a VESA mount, so you can use a monitor arm.

The 24MR400 is best out of all of them, its 2023 release date and has 100Hz. But it depends if you're looking for any other features, like multiple HDMI or DP inputs.
Hello! I am going to buy this specific monitor and I will use it as my external monitor for my laptop (intel iris Xe graphics 60hz) do you think it will boost my gaming experience (League of legends). Will the external monitor run in 100Hz even if my laptop only has 60Hz of refresh rate?
Hey, the intel iris Xe iGPU should be able to run at more than 60Hz when using an external monitor. The fps you get will depend on the games you play and the graphics settings. League of Legends should be able to max out the monitor refresh rate, even with the iGPU.
CPU cabinet, do you mean the PC case? If that's what you meant then in the video I still had an InWin 101 PC case, now I have Jonsbo D41 Mesh for one PC and Jonsbo C6 for another.
Hey. I don't know what a lot means for you. I did go to ufo test to do a quick ghosting test and I do see ghosting there. But when I played some games, even fast paced shooters, ghosting didn't stand out to me.
Yes it is also good for displaying and reading text. I read emails, news, reddit and various files on it. But I haven't used it for programing yet. Do you have any particular concerns when it comes to reading?
@@jackalldiytech Mainly reading books and note-taking. I know most monitors can do this fairly easily but I also favor good (or decent) color reproduction and maybe minimal eyestrain.
@hmf33 the monitor looks good to me and I can use it for a long period of time. I don't have a calibration device so I adjusted the colour by eye (50 red, 46 green, 45 blue - default values are 50). There is also no bleeding or blurry effect when you scroll fast through the text, as I have experienced on some older monitors.
Hey, the stand height is not adjustable. Most cheaper monitors have non adjustable height, so you either need a monitor arm or use books/box/stand to lift it up.
Great question! While I don't have long term experience with LG monitors, a quick search showed that all LG monitors usually last between 5-10 years. Will this monitor last such a long time? It's hard to say as it depends in what kind of environment it is used - as you know the temperature, humidity and dustiness in a room differs and that does affect electronics.
Hi thanks for the question and sorry for the bad quality. What app? Hmm.. Ah I think I know what you mean. I used the Nvidia control panel which comes with Nvidia drivers. If you have an AMD or an Intel Arc graphics card then you'll have a different graphic settings app. If you just want to change the monitor resolution this can be done by right-clicking and select customize screen (at least on Windows).
@@jonah5548 You can but it might be different based on which version you're using. On windows 10 these are the steps: - right click on desktop - choose Display Settings - then click on the Advanced Display Settings "link" - choose a refresh rate But because the GPU is connected to the display and not windows I would say that it's better/safer to make the display changes in the GPU software.
Hi, free-sync is a better alternative to v-sync. Though some people say you should set your maximum refresh rate to 1-3 fps below the maximum monitor refresh rate, otherwise you can get screen tearing if your PC can push past the monitors maximum fps limit. I use free-sync without the -1 to -3 fps cap and I don't see any problems.
While I don't use it in an office I do have fairly bright lights and I can use it just fine, this is with the brightness slider set to the default 75/100. I can say though that I am using a worse monitor at my current workplace (very bright lights) and this monitor would perform better, but it's not a wide monitor if that is what you're after.
I never tried overclocking panels, but if you wanted to reach 120Hz that would be a 20% increase, which I don't think is realistic, unless my assumption is wrong.
The sa240y has USB 3.1 type C 15W, display port 1.2, 2x2W speakers, no VESA mount. However, Acer has more versions of this monitor so l don't know which one you're looking at. The one I compared was from 2019. You can use display specifications dot com to compare monitors, but the data may not be accurate.
@@jackalldiytech . It's sa240y G . I am fine with 75hz . Also I only need 1 hdmi other ports doesn't matter for me. so should I pick this or lg 24mr400. Your reply to this question will be my final pick .
Hm... The only G variant I can find is in India, so I guess that's region specific and the name is G0. If that's the case that monitor was released sometime in 2024 and supposedly it can be overclocked to 120Hz. Also Acer has a 3 Year warranty for this monitor. So on paper the acer one is better, but again I don't know which exact version is being sold and for how much.
Thank you for a great question! The answer is yes, when it comes to the monitor. However the problem might be the CPU that you are using and possibly which Motherboard as well (which HDMI version it has). Most of the older generation integrated GPUs (Intel ones) will not be able to run at full 100Hz but it should be possible with the Ryzen APUs (G version processor with integrated Vega graphics). However, I have never done a test like this before and I also don't know what you have, so I can't say if it will work for you.
I did not try it. A 20% overclock seems a lot to me, especially for an IPS panel. And even if it somehow worked for me there would be no guarantee that it would work for you, since every panel is different. Even if the overclock was a success, it could come at the cost of the monitor skipping frames. Lastly, there is no telling what will happen to the components inside the monitor that would be working outside of their specs (overheating, faster degradation, immediate failure come to mind).
I am aware that the economy is different in every country and sadly countries, like Brazil, get hit harder due to low income. There is inflation, which makes everything even more expensive. And then there is also the import tax that some countries have extremely high. So for humans that want a different lifestyle a change must be made, in this case a higher paying job and/or relocation to another country. However, you could also find something that you like doing and is in demand, sell your products/services, and also make videos on RUclips to show how something is done and promote your business.
Hey, of course you can use it with a console. However, if your plan is to play games at 120fps, then you'll need a monitor/tv that has at least 120Hz. In this case even though the monitor supports 100Hz, you would be able to play games on consoles only at 60fps and not 100fps, as that is not supported by consoles as far as I am aware.
Hi friend from another continent, I just bought it and now I have it in my hands, the truth is that it is quite good, good image, sharp, do you have any recommendations? I lowered the brightness to 80% In my country for the same price there was also the MSI PRO MP243XW, but there was not much difference, and everyone I asked recommended LG, so I went for this one, plus your video was quite good. I am quite happy with this monitor, although I will have to get used to the size, since I use it on a 14-inch notebook and the change is gigantic xD
Hello Javier. I can only imagine what a big difference in size it is. As for my recommendation, it would have to be the colour accuracy. The cheapest way to adjust a monitor is to take a piece of white paper and put it over/besides the panel, then lower the R,G,B values until it is close to the paper white. Also, only lower the RGB values by a few points, as that will give you the best result.
Will the monitor work? Yes. However, you probably want to play the games at max fps, which I believe is 120 for the consoles. Unfortunately, since the monitor is only 100Hz it means that you can only play games at 60Hz (consoles either play at 60 or 120Hz). So for console gaming you want a monitor with at least 120Hz. I'll have to check if there is any cheap and decent console monitors.
There are no speakers as mentioned in the video when I did the sound test, but you do have a 3.5mm audio output. So you can use headphones, or speakers if you have them, but in that case the onboard motherboard audio is probably higher quality. Most cheap monitors in the $80 range have the same outputs 1xHDMI, 1x D-SUB, 1x 3.5mm audio output and no speakers. Depending on where you live you can also get some great deals, I saw a dell monitor 24" - IPS - 165Hz - 1ms - with 2 HDMI and DP outputs for $110. But that one too had no speakers, so if speakers are a must on the cheapest of 24" monitor then you will have to look around or find a good deal. If you're from Europe you can look on mydealz.de under the electronics section
It is good for games, that is why I bought it. I have tested it with multiple FPS games and various Action RPGs. FreeSync (AdaptiveSync) helps prevent any screen tearing and 100Hz is a lot better than 60 or even 75.
Thanks for the question. I don't see any sharp reflections and if I shine a light on the monitor the light is dispersed. I hope that's what you wanted to know.
R - 100Hz vs 75Hz - P, is the biggest difference. Since the panel is different the color accuracy is probably also different. No audio out jack on the P, R - 100x100 vs 75x75 - P vesa mount holes. The P came out in 2021 the R came out in 2023.

Hello! Does it have glow issues or white haze? (In dark scenes).
And does it have text fringing? Thanks for the review!

Hello does it support Gsync? Or gsync option can be seen on nvidea panel?
Hi, this monitor does not have G-Sync support, since that feature costs extra money and this is a cheap monitor. However, it does support Free-Sync, but you may need to be enabled it in the monitor settings.
This monitor support adaptive syncs, it means you can have to use both of freesync and G-Sync.
How has your experience so far with this monitor?
Overall I am satisfied with the monitor. It hasn't given me any problems. However, I'm not thrilled that the back thumb stick controls every setting, even the on/off. But I guess this is now a thing on the cheapest monitors and it's something I/we have to accept.
Do you think there is a significant difference between this and an LG ultragear 24GQ50F?
There is a significant difference, spec wise: The ultragear has a VA panel, 144Hz over HDMI and 165Hz over DP, true 8bit, 2x HDMI 2.0, 1x DisplayPort 1.2
Price is $140-150? Which is almost double so it should be a better monitor.
For similar specs to the ultragear and possibly even lower price you could look into KTC H24T09P. The geekbuying website usually has good deals on these monitors, but if you want to get even better deals you have to be subscribed to their newsletter.
can i use with DP-HDMI cable or adapter or DVI-D-HDMI cable or adapter?
any experience?
Hey, you can use the monitor with DP-HDMI, connecting DP to graphic card and HDMI to monitor.
The DVI-D - HDMI might work, I say might because you usually connect newer display connection type to the GPU and the older type to the monitor. That is because the adapters usually don't convert from older to newer types.
I have never tested it so I can't say if connecting HDMI to GPU and DVI-D to the monitor will work, but I do know that the opposite does work.
hey so could I plug my MacBook and ps5 on there? or would I have to switch HDMI cords of that make sense.
Hey how can i turn on gamemode on?

Hi. That's a great question! I didn't think of measuring the cable so I did so now and it is 1.5m long.

Hi, no worries and thank you for the question. This is not an all in one PC if that is what you are after, this is only a monitor (providing you a picture). If you're interested in this monitor you will need a computer (or a laptop) to which you will connect your monitor and mouse - plugging them into a USB port.

Does it have speakers?
This monitor does not have built-in speakers, but it does have a 3.5mm audio jack so you can use headphones or connect speakers to it. However, the audio chip on your motherboard most likely has a better sound quality.

Yo bro i have a laptop (60hz intel integrated graphic ) do u think that if i connect my laptop to the monitor it will increase my fps in fortnite?
As long as it's not a very old CPU then the iGPU should be good enough to give you 100fps to take full advantage of the monitors refresh rate.
I have a work laptop that is 60 hz, when plugged into my home monitor (165 hz) it can only reach 60hz in settings, so I would be wary, see if you can find out more info

how is the color compared to Koorui 24e3?
I would not know as I have not used that monitor. But I can say that the colour looks ok, at least to me, after adjusting the RGB values based on my eye vision. Using a colorimeter would be ideal of course, but most of us don't have one as we don't buy monitors that often.
i am getting this monitor and i have 60 hz rn is the diffrence between 60hz and 100hz a big diffrent since i play games like fortnite and valorant?
Hey, thanks for the question. Anything over 60Hz is noticeable, especially in fast moving scenes like FPS games. And in case you intend on using the monitor for a long time I suggest you get a monitor with 120Hz or more. This is my recommendation of 8 24" monitors under $100 that I would consider buying. Edit, forgot the link ruclips.net/video/Uf2F71DgsSw/видео.html
hello sir ! i have a question.. does it have power led just to indicate the monitor is turn on or stand by mode? hoping for response.. tnx
Hello, and thanks for the question! The monitor does not have any standby LED, which is good/bad depending on your preference.
@@jackalldiytech tnx for the response.. for me,realy like the monitor for budget price and spec wise..
Please share the sound quality through the 3.5mm jack ? Is it good enough for the audio output through the earphone ?
Hey thanks for the question. I don't know how I could effectively capture the sound with my headphones. I tried recording it via the OBS using different sources for the "desktop" audio, but when I then edit the audio I don't hear a difference. HOWEVER, there is a day and night difference if you use the audio from the monitor or if you use audio from your motherboard (the motherboard sounds a lot better).
To put it in perspective, the monitor audio sounds flat but it'll work if you need it as an emergency. But I would not use the monitor audio long term.

Hey, the intel iris Xe iGPU should be able to run at more than 60Hz when using an external monitor. The fps you get will depend on the games you play and the graphics settings. League of Legends should be able to max out the monitor refresh rate, even with the iGPU.

Would you say this monitor is good for reading?

How long do lg monitors last such as this one?
Great question! While I don't have long term experience with LG monitors, a quick search showed that all LG monitors usually last between 5-10 years. Will this monitor last such a long time? It's hard to say as it depends in what kind of environment it is used - as you know the temperature, humidity and dustiness in a room differs and that does affect electronics.
What app u use to change resolution and 100hz ? Please let me now beacause video record by you phone , i cant read the name’s app!!!😢😢
You can't change the refresh rate from the windows settings?
@@jonah5548 You can but it might be different based on which version you're using.
On windows 10 these are the steps:
- right click on desktop
- choose Display Settings
- then click on the Advanced Display Settings "link"
- choose a refresh rate
But because the GPU is connected to the display and not windows I would say that it's better/safer to make the display changes in the GPU software.
On this monitor should I turn on free sync? And what should the response time be?
Hi, free-sync is a better alternative to v-sync. Though some people say you should set your maximum refresh rate to 1-3 fps below the maximum monitor refresh rate, otherwise you can get screen tearing if your PC can push past the monitors maximum fps limit. I use free-sync without the -1 to -3 fps cap and I don't see any problems.
Bro, is this monitor brightness bright enough in office environment?
While I don't use it in an office I do have fairly bright lights and I can use it just fine, this is with the brightness slider set to the default 75/100. I can say though that I am using a worse monitor at my current workplace (very bright lights) and this monitor would perform better, but it's not a wide monitor if that is what you're after.

This monitor vs acer sa240y. Other than the refresh rate what are the differences?
The sa240y has USB 3.1 type C 15W, display port 1.2, 2x2W speakers, no VESA mount. However, Acer has more versions of this monitor so l don't know which one you're looking at. Sir can i use this monitor at 100hz without any Graphics card?
Thank you for a great question! The answer is yes, when it comes to the monitor. Most of the older generation integrated GPUs (Intel ones) will not be able to run at full 100Hz but it should be possible with the Ryzen APUs (G version processor with integrated Vega graphics).

This monitor, like most, has an LCD panel and uses W-LED for backlight. If you want better LED technology then the price will be higher.
Does it have a tilt? Mine can’t 😢
The monitor does have tilt, maybe yours is just stiff. You can remove the stand and try to move the mounting point by hand
did you try to overclock to 120hz ?😃
I did not try it. A 20% overclock seems a lot to me, especially for an IPS panel. And even if it somehow worked for me there would be no guarantee that it would work for you, since every panel is different. Even if the overclock was a success, it could come at the cost of the monitor skipping frames. Lastly, there is no telling what will happen to the components inside the monitor that would be working outside of their specs (overheating, faster degradation, immediate failure come to mind).
Vocês deve agradecer a Deus por ter nascido nos eua 😢 aqui no brasil temos que trabalhar uns 2 meses pra conseguir comprar avista
Can I use Xbox series s with it? Like how we do with the tv
Does it come with hdmi cable?
Yes, it comes with an HDMI cable, and you should use it if you have problems with any other cables you might want to use.
Will this monitor have long lifespan?
I don't know, I hope that it holds more than 2 years. Then again I had a $200 monitor who's panel crapped in just a bit over 2 years.

@@jackalldiytech . Excellent. MR I buy then.
Hi friend from another continent, I just bought it and now I have it in my hands, the truth is that it is quite good, good image, sharp, do you have any recommendations? I lowered the brightness to 80%

Would a ps4 work I don’t know the ps4 hertz and want a budget monitor for Fortnite
Does it rotate?
It doesn't have 90 degree rotation as the stand is very basic, no height adjustment as well. But you can tilt it forward and backwards.
Does this monitor have speakers?
Is it good for gaming?
It is good for games, that is why I bought it. I have tested it with multiple FPS games and various Action RPGs. FreeSync (AdaptiveSync) helps prevent any screen tearing and 100Hz is a lot better than 60 or even 75.
Is the screen Anti glare?
Thanks for the question. I don't see any sharp reflections and if I shine a light on the monitor the light is dispersed. I hope that's what you wanted to know.
Does it support 100Hz on hdmi ..In india it says :
Maximum Refresh Rate
100 Hz (Analog), 60 Hz (Digital)
It is 100Hz over HDMI and supposedly 75Hz over analog. But I don't have an appropriate GPU or adapters to test the VGA refresh rate.
