I like how most of this clip isn’t even about the question of a hotdog being a sandwich, and instead is rather about the logistics of a cannoli and buttered bread

I never imagined when Bob said “put butter on bread then dip it in oil” that he would first wrap the bread around the butter. I have no idea why that configuration was what Mark’s brain jumped to. Ince he explained himself I kinda got the cannoli thing, but I was picturing spreading butter on one end of, say, a baguette then dipping that same end in oil, so Mark’s “THAT’S A CANNOLI!” really threw me off 😂.
The fact that Mark referenced Ed Edd and Eddy, my favorite childhood cartoon ever, was incredible 😁 Also, this and Mark's next episode were 2 of my top 5 favorites ever. I hope they do more simple prompts in the future

It’s the perfect mix of chaos without actually being an argument where people get hurt, and it’s something where a bunch of people can all have different opinions, with which at the end of the day, no one’s morals are deeply affected or damaged. Wade brought up a good point about the language. In my language we don't have a toast-equivalent word, we just describe the bread as being toasted. So it shouldn't matter wether you say toast or toasted bread. It's the same thing.
In Germany, you buy toast. That is specifically rectangular bread that you have to toast, but it is called toast before and after toasting it. Real bread is just bread and stays bread, even if toasted.
My favorite part is towards the end of the episode, where Mark brings up bread bowls and just utters "Oh, no..." at the absolutely monstrous can of worms he opened. I'm almost upset it's not in this vid somewhere, lol.

As a German, I feel qualified to give my opinion on this. Toast is a TYPE of bread, like brioche or sourdough etc. It's a type you can't get at the bakery, only at the supermarket. (Which makes it lower quality bread, but it's still bread at the end of the day.) If you toast a toast, it's called toasted toast. You don't call toasted bread 'toast'. That's just elevated bread and it doesn't have a specific name.

My opinion of "Is a hotdog a sandwich" is this: It depends on one of two categories, 1.) you consider subway sandwiches to be sandwiches, if so then yes a hotdog is a sandwich as it is essentially a subcategory of that, kind of like how a tomato is a fruit but you probably don't refer to it as one. 2.) you don't, therefore no it wouldn't be. It all comes down to what you think about the type of sandwich a subway sandwich is, if you don't consider it one then you wouldn't by extension consider a hotdog to be a sandwich. Regardless however, even if you did you probably still wouldn't refer to a hotdog as a sandwich.

So easy in Swedish. If you put anything on a piece of bread and eat it, it’s a macka. Doesn’t matter if it’s hard bread with butter, or cheese and jam or a load of savory toppings, it’s still a macka, or possibly a dubbelmacka if you put another piece of bread on top, which is usually done whenever the toppings are too unmanageable without it.

My opinion of "Is a hotdog a sandwich" is this:
It depends on one of two categories,
1.) you consider subway sandwiches to be sandwiches, if so then yes a hotdog is a sandwich as it is essentially a subcategory of that, kind of like how a tomato is a fruit but you probably don't refer to it as one.
2.) you don't, therefore no it wouldn't be.
It all comes down to what you think about the type of sandwich a subway sandwich is, if you don't consider it one then you wouldn't by extension consider a hotdog to be a sandwich.
Regardless however, even if you did you probably still wouldn't refer to a hotdog as a sandwich.

Toast is just shortened version of Toasted Bread, and if you toast a bagel it’s a Toasted Bagel
