I'm sure the creators of City Skylines NEVER imagined their game to be used to make a poop slide tourist attraction simulator. Engineering at it's best!
This effect even has a nice name, Emergent Gameplay, to describe it. Not sure that the people who coined the term were thinking about poop slide tourist attractions either.
The dead people thing is an issue in game itself, when people move into your residential zones for the first time they are mostly the same age group, meaning a big chunk of your population will reach old age and die at the same time, there are mods that fix the issue but basically if you have rapid expansion then you will have a deathwave
It's amazing how many glaring issues continue to exist in this game's programming so many years after release. But hey, they've got 10 different DLCs that are variations on "zone a district and plop some half-baked assets into them" model, so it all balances out...right? RIGHT!?!?!
@@Trendyflute Bit unfair, as they did actually attempt to address this issue with a free update alongside the fishing dlc. The eldercare and childcare service buildings extend the sim's lives and add more randomness to their life spans.
Watching the game's water physics working is actually pretty satisfying, especially if it involves watching ferries drive up an impossibly steep slope. Though, I can't help but notice that the ferry line and all the infrastructure created for it are completely decorative (kind of architectural if you ask me).
When placing the prefab canals you have to place them normally, as in without using a mod to ignore building limitations, otherwise the game doesn't recalculate the terrain they displace.
Hey RCE! You’re not getting any industrial demand because of the many many jobs at your oil fields. You’ll have to delete some of them to increase the industrial demand.
Man ... I'd *love* it if RCE sent this map to Biffa Plays. Tag-line: "I c*cked up my traffic, could you maybe give me a hand?" 🤣 Just to see the reactions.
You have to keep an eye on the cemeteries and the landfill sites, as they do fill up. But then you can empty them so you don't constantly need more. Maybe there's a mod for auto emptying. Also, you deleted a few power lines during this video, you may want to go fix them
Thanks for this. I was having a really rough day and your industrial area layout amused the inner child enough to cheer me up a bit. Keep on making the strongest cities, Matt!
6:41 People are dying because of pollution. You have a power station and dump next to residential areas. Keep your residential area clear from that brown haze. Then people won't die.
Having road anarchy on while placing paths can cause the game to ignore flattening terrain when it should. You just need to turn off road anarchy or adjust the options before placing things you want to behave normally.
1:35 The other day I needed a massive pylon for my 1MW personal science project. So I went to the city hall and said with a megaphone : You must construct additional pylons !
I believe the reason why people are dying in the city is because of the one drinking water pipe for the architects, connecting the poo water to the drinking water. You inadvertently created the same mistake as you did a few episodes ago.
Everyone in that one area of the former industrial knob is dying because the ground is polluted still. Notice it's all foggy/smokey. It should go away after some amount of time
regarding the dead people, the game is quirky and badly designed in that aspect. all people entering your city will have the same age on entry so the deaths in neighborhoods will also happen at roughly the same time. there is a mod that fixes this think it was something along the lines of randomized citizen age
what about you have the cemetaries like the paris catocombs an entire section dedicated to dead people if you can build underground or do it above ground
I feel like the ferry up top might have been better positioned on the island. Or that there could have been a second stop on the island so the ferries would circle the island before going back down. This was amazing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

RCE: imagine a massive pylon coming to your house just so you have electricity. They put poop in the game.
It was only a matter of time before somebody went "haha, poop" 🤣
They have seen their fair share of this already.
