- Calafell is a municipality located in the province of Tarragona , in the region of the Bajo Penedés ( Catalonia , Spain ). In 2019, according to the National Institute of Statistics, it had a population of 26,538 inhabitants. The term has three main nuclei, called Calafell, Segur de Calafell and "La Playa de Calafell".
The first population of Calafell dates from the Iberian era, built during the second half of the 6th century BC and abandoned in the 1st century BC; Currently, his remains can be visited at the site of the Iberian Citadel of Calafell . Later in the same place a great Roman domus belonging to a patrician family was built. Calafell means small castle and comes from Latin and Arabic. In Calafell there is one of the most significant Iberian deposits in Spain, the Iberian Ciutadella and in 1997 another prehistoric site was discovered in Cova Foradada.
Calafell is a tourist municipality where there is a wide variety of leisure and entertainment proposals throughout the year. One of the main economic activities is tourism, especially in the Calafell beach area, an activity that began to develop strongly in the 1960s. There are numerous apartment buildings and hotels. Tourism in Calafell lies above all in the gastronomic offer, especially in the products of the area such as wine and fish; Also during the summer season it has a large number of marine leisure offers, such as dinghy sailing , windsurfing, and dolphin surfing.

Ja, Calafeĺl ist sehr schön. 30 Jahre hab ich in Calafell Urlaub gemacht.
Ich habe dort in den 90igern öfter Urlaub gemacht, da waren fantastische Tage. Am Wochenende ins Louie Vega, das hat so einen Spaß gemacht, die Partymeile war ein besonders schöner Ort zum Feiern.

Ja, Calafell. Ich habe 30 Jahre Urlaub in Calafell gemacht. Ist das eine große Halle mit verschiedenen Lokalen? Ich erinnere mich das es so was in den 80er Jahren gab. Aber wo genau hab ich vergessen.
Ich würde gerne in Calafell Leben.

@@mbofalzer We´ve been living here since 2015 and it´s a great place to live. Actually we live in El Vendrell just by Calafell. I think you remember the Paseo Maritimo with stores, restaurants and bars. Thjis is a great place to be. We used to live in Segovia and it was too cold out there. I am from PUerto Rico but have been living in Spain for many years. I used to live in Madrid, got married and we went to live to Segovia with our little girl. I can also say we love Torremolinos in Malaga and Roquetas de Mar in Almería if you plan to come to Spain.
Wir leben hier seit 2015 und es ist ein toller Ort zum Leben. Eigentlich leben wir in El Vendrell, direkt bei Calafell. Ich denke, Sie erinnern sich an den Paseo Maritimo mit Geschäften, Restaurants und Bars. Thjis ist ein toller Ort zum Leben. Wir lebten früher in Segovia und es war dort draußen zu kalt. Ich komme aus Puerto Rico, lebe aber seit vielen Jahren in Spanien. Ich habe in Madrid gelebt, geheiratet und wir sind mit unserem kleinen Mädchen nach Segovia gezogen. Ich kann auch sagen, dass wir Torremolinos in Malaga und Roquetas de Mar in Almería lieben, wenn Sie planen, nach Spanien zu kommen.

Danke. Calafell wäre für uns Ideal. Bis nach Hause in Deutschland sind es nur 1.300 km und 10 bis 11 Std wäre ich wieder in Deutschland. Unsere Wohnung wollen wir nicht aufgeben. Wir wohnen am Bodensee.
