One of the few infection mods that actually has an ending. Very good for a server or pack where you dont need a constant threat ticking down the tps indefinitely.
Also one of the ONLY few that only activates when you've purposely trigger it. Unlike the other infection mods that just spawns all of a sudden in your world and without stop.
I like how this Infection mod is integrated into the world as an optional encounter you'd have to go out of your way to trigger. As well as the fact you can end the infection permanently. My criticism would be to add some useful mob drops and other items, like maybe weapons, trophies, decorative pieces, or consumables.
@@joe____yeah, atm it's basically just a server wide challenge that you could use for like an RP or SMP server, I do feel like a powerful item or something to get out of it would be worthwhile if you have to go out of your way to unleash this thing and infect everything around you (I do like how this mod retains the original blocks tho when they are reverted, and don't just become dirt)
Exactly this. Another game, Rimworld, has a similar thing with their Anomaly DLC and the activation of the Monolith. If you do activate it, the bounties of the terrors it summons and draws in are great and powerful. However, the terrors themselves are dangerous and can harm your people in terrible ways. It _is_ possible to get rid of it permanently through research and dark study... Or one can alternatively absorb the power of the void, letting the terrors stay within reality forevermore in exchange for true self-sustainment and immortality for a single person.

Sculk Horde is definitely the best infection out there right now, closely followed by Mi Alliance, Fungal Infection Spore and the Alien Thing. Scape and Run probably still has the most unique art out of any infection mods, but its balance (or lack thereof) makes it work better as an art gallery than a playable experience
I think this mod would be very cool mixed with deeper and darker, so when you activate a other side portal the infection begins and you need some items from the other side to stop the infection (maybe items from the stalker or something like that)

Hope the game adds something like this, maybe you can open the portal and then collect items from infected mobs to trigger a boss. Better than to just have it sit there and do nothing.
The Sculk Horde is definitely the best infection mod out there right now; Scape and Run Parasites is comically unbalanced, Fungal Infection Spore is rather overpowered as well but more like oldschool Scape and Run (it's playable), Flesh that Hates could still use some polish, The Thing is pretty well made but skirts the line of being a full Infection mod (it's actually defeatable which is really nice), Mi Alliance is probably a close second behind Sculk Horde because it's an incredible mod (subject to being powercrept by the player though), the Wither Infection mod is pretty underdeveloped atm and Extermination is really neat but like the Thing skirts the line of being an "infection" mod. Sculk Horde gets everything right: It's an infection mod in the traditional sense, taking over your world, but it's not an unstoppable force; you can defeat it, and not only that, you choose when you bring it into the world. This makes it a much better challenge already, as you're not fighting endgame balanced mobs in iron armor; you're fighting endgame mobs in endgame gear. The mass system is fantastic, making your efforts feel meaningful, and it has a fully fleshed out way to be defeated and re-awoken, all while being incredibly dominant yet manageable for veteran players. This goes without saying that the mod is under constant development and very well polished, and I hope it can give the Infection mods a resurgence because Scape and Run kinda botched its chances at that. Fun fact, Sculk Horde actually has config for compatability with Fungal Spore Infection (and vice versa) where the two infections will actively target and fight with each other.
