    I bought mine in January up here on the border. The economy up here is hurting and I picked up my 125 for $4600. All the time I was at the dealership the four days I visited, there was no one else in the business. I sold one of my bikes after I saw a Trail 125 last summer and saved the cash for dickering. The dealer had 3 of them. I have ridden mine some when the roads are relatively dry up here. Next winter I will stud some tires. At 76, this bike will allow me to ride until God takes me off this earth.

    I purchased mine 3 weeks ago and I have started making money using it. Cheep to fill up and literally goes everywhere with no problem parking anywhere I choose. Side walks , hallways ect. Delivering food on DASHER . I make about 30 per in an hour and a half , it pays for my monthly payment. Plus it pays for the insurance. With plenty of money left over for extra cash. This thing is a money making machine. Most I made in one days time working 3 hours was 68$ . So happy I purchased this machine. It’s so much more than a trail bike !!!!! I never thought I would get to learn all the little side roads in my city, but this thing horses you to take every conceivable route you can think of including going over pedestrian bridges. Never thought I would do that but shit if it’s night time and nobody’s there, who’s to tell me no.😊

    Thanks for your review. Pretty much sums up the goodness of a Honda Trail 125. I also have a 1969 CT90 with the dual range transmission. It does climb much better in difficult terrain than the 125. You can get the 125 for $5000 out the door, but maybe not everywhere the US.

    Great review of the little 125 . I have a few bikes and also the 125 . Its a FUN bike and also an easy bike to get on and move around . I have made a few videos of my CT125 adventures if you would like to watch them. Good work on describing the gear changing too . a lot of new riders do not know about the revs and could quite easily come off in the wet.

    The trail's sale figures are bundled into the Supercub because it is a variant of it but prior to the 21st century these two bikes racked up a total of 30 million vehicles sold. Then it continued to sell another 70 million in 17 years.

    You don't need to rev-match when shifting down. Just step on the shifter lightly and it will disengage the engine from the wheel (like a clutch), then you can brake or freewheel until your speed matches the gear.

    • @tychomoto
      @tychomoto  Год назад

      Well for that matter you don't need to shift down really since it's all centrifugal, but in the cases where you want to shift down to pass someone or engine brake, you should learn to rev match.

    You can also change your gearing for your expected use. That’s what I do as it isn’t hard. I put on a larger rear sprocket and leave it, however the front being so easy to change that’s what I’ll swap and I have a speedometer healer I just input the percentage difference into that. One sprocket it’s a mountain goat and another sprocket I can run 55mph not to bad. Just an option for you.

      If I had more time... I would try to design a working derailer to shift a two sprocket system from a taller sprocket and a shorter similar to a multi speed bicycle. Of course, I prefer the dual range transmission on my CT110 (105cc).

    • @tychomoto
      @tychomoto  2 месяца назад +1

      i'd say the trail is a better trails bike, and definitely a better road bike for longer trips. the only situations where i prefer to be on my ebike are when i'm cutting through footpaths (like to get from one cul de sac to another) and bike trails where being on a motorcycle just isn't allowed.

    What front rack is that?
    Great video!

    • @tychomoto
      @tychomoto  Год назад

      The rack is made by Moto Skill. The trail isn't private and I don't appear to be bothering anyone when I'm there (hikers wave at me), but a bunch of dirt bikes ripping up the place would for sure bring the police. One or two honda trails seems to be no issue.

      now that said, I have ridden up and down vasco road between livermore and brentwood before on the trail 125 and it isn't the most thrilling experience given the grade. you're lucky to hit 35 on the way up the hill. a much more pleasant route would be to come over morgan territory rd.

For that price i expect a bike ready to go and from your review and that of many other there are quite a view thing that you really need to upgrade to have fun out of the bike. I'm guessing you are quoting indicated mph off your speedometer. Compare to GPS on your phone and don't be surprised if your speedometer has a 5mph+ optimistic error. My TW200 is a 55mph bike, my CT110 is a 45mph bike. But I've heard of Alaskans hauling quartered game up hills and out of the woods with the dual transmission in LO.

    • @tychomoto
      @tychomoto  11 месяцев назад +1

      with the stock tires, it was a bona fide 55 mph that i verified with a radar on one of the roads near me. with the shinkos, it's possible the larger radius of the tires is throwing off the speedo, but at least at 30ish mph, it's accurate as verified by the same radar. i also have a TW200, and for that, i really don't know whether i should believe the speedo, because that sometimes says i'm going 65, and i haven't heard anyone say theirs goes that fast.
