I wish Fortnite would take notes and understand why chapter 1 og was so successful. It wasn’t just nostalgia, the map and loot pool is what really makes it so much fun. You land, pick up a standard pump or ar and fight. No attachments, no overly complex buildings, no shitty projectile weapons that are so unsatisfying to use, no stupid npcs everywhere, just a fun battle royale on an aesthetically pleasing, simple map with pois that are fun to fight at.
New players do not understand that all people are different, and everyone has different preferences and tastes. I just love OG Fortnite for its simplicity and complete unpredictability, while new players like things like mythic locations, point captures, flying islands, orders, weapon cases, NPCs, etc. There can be no objectivity here.
@@njingasiyothula3900 You prefer all the AR’s having bullet drop + projectile bullets rather than how it used to be with all the guns in chapter 1/2/3 ??
Since ch3s3, its rotting corpse is being dragged across concrete, epic pretending its still as relevant as in pre 2020. Warzone is the same. The game is sustained on new players mostly. OGs are long gone. they returned only to CH4S4 OG, and now they play Reload ranked builds, which actually has more players than BR. The only time BR in both Builds and ZB matched and passed the numbers in Ranked reload, is after the Halloween update. Once that is gone, Reload will surpass it again. Its a shame really. Hope fort returns to its roots. Cause this car, jets, gloves and such metas are bs
Personally this should be the last og season, we get to experience nostalgia of all the fun times we used to have in chapter 1 and chapter 2 but if they keep bringing it back, that nostalgia feeling might just fade away, it won’t feel special and it will just get boring, imagine they bring back og chapter 1 again when chapter 6 ends, it would significantly improve the player base but people wouldn’t feel special seeing it anymore. What Fortnite really need to do is take inspiration from these seasons and it’s creativity and put it into newer seasons so it makes all the community happy

I definetly agree with most parts, I will disagree on epic ending chapter 2 early because of playerbase mainly due to them wanting to try to make the time range of chapter 1 and 2 consistant and not have one longer than the other (mainly because s1 and s2 where 2 seasons long themselves), The game kinda went a downward spiral for me around chapter 3 season 4 especially on fracture, If theres one majority of this games community that has stayed the longest its definitely the storyline Enthusiasts, now at its current state for both storyline and gameplay its both rushed and reused with no thought put into it. I worry that the whole Omni-verse thing epic is trying to pull off is whats ruining the game as well, they are having 25% of employees work on a mode that most of us either don't like or dont play anymore. without a doubt yes chapter 2 OG will bring back some players to enjoy that chapter but its kinda to the point where we kinda just want a separate mode thats NOT reload but just OG, even if it has the same loot pool as Reload I guarantee most players would be satisfied. I think they should have made the reload mode just like the og season, but packed in one mode and just giving it a small update every now and then, so the people who liked the original content always have a reason to play the game, while the people who like the new modern fortnite can still play that in the normal battle royale. This idea sounds a bit dumb, but I kind of think that would have worked to keep the player count "high"
All i want from og 2 is for the maya skin and build a brella to get updated so players can have access to all the options we could choose from. Having it locked was a dumb decision, considering later on we got cosmetic items that had way more combinations than maya and build a brella. So, hopefully, epic changes this or, at the very least, give us the option to redo our choice
as a 30 year old, this is interesting to watch. It's interesting how nostaligic you are for season one that you fully dismiss everything afterwards. I agree with your points about the lack of focus around the story. Yes that got worse with Chapter 3 onwards but that's not why the player count dropped. No game ever just grows. Unless they constantly find a new player market the player count always declines from release. That's perfectly normal however the profit still increased which just means the people who only wanted to be free and never spend left. On the topic of innovation in Fortnite: My dude, nothing Fortnite did ever was original. Not the battlepass which you admitted yourself, not the revive or ping system, both were stolen from Apex Legends, argubly the crafting was as well. The only reason why the gun play got more realistic is as you said with the weapon mods because Warzone but that was Fortnite and Epic OM from day one. Fortnite Battle Royal from day one IS just a copy of PUBG because PUBG at that point was the biggest game. Apex Legends was catching up to Fortnite so it's most unique aspects were taken and the same happens with Warzone in Chapter 4. The gameplay always evolved to match Fortnite's closest competitor to syphon those players. We can argue that the story or it's big events are unique but that really is a one time effect. Even if it happens a second time you don't have the same surprise as the first. The rocket was something amazing but everything after that cannot ever capture the same attention than it could. So if Fortnite worse? Maybe, it depends on what you want from it. Do you just want Chapter 1 and some of Chapter 2, yes it's a worse game. Do you just want a game where you quickly can jump in and play a round? No it's not, it's the same as Chapter 1 in that regard, the only thing that changed is the gameplay and it changed regardless with every chapter. so as someone who watched this evolution of the game like ten times already: it's still Fortnite. It's still fun and OG wasn't better, trust me they rarely ever are better, it's just nostalgia of that time. You want to try it. Play Minecraft, you can still download every single previous major version of the game and experience every change it had. I would the beta Minecraft I first played in 2012 or so but it's just better today and it's argubly a completely different game.
really wished they'd just make a separate gamemode just like stw where you can simply load into a almost 1 to 1 of the old version of the game ( sounds, graphics, etc). But this is epic games in 2024, where it’s “how much more can we milk this?”.
😹L take bro you keep talking about how “OG “ players are basically going to have a hard time understanding new mechanics like who cares bro understand the new game or get better all the real ogs are still playing the game
I dont mind chapter 2 og as long as they somehow dont fuck it up, after that, when chapter 6 comes i fully agree. They need to go back to their roots, be innovaitve, less of a cash-grab and really take notes on why the game blew up in the first place
i hate how fortnite tried to make a metaverse even though its a battle royale game. like if i wanted to play guitar hero, minecraft, and an arcade racing game i would just buy them
This is a hot take, but I think they might fuse the Reboot mechanic, with the Chapter 2 OG map somehow, because I think if they just brought it back, with nothing redeemable for it, it wouldn’t make sense (agreeing with the points you made in this vid)
i think the concept of chapter 2 is coming back is for the players that startet then and epic feels like they need a OG month for them two, like me i startet chapter 2 and i really want it coming back, and the agency season it did so good and even a lot of chapter 1 OG's maybe really want to play that again. its just my thoughts though.
I agree.Fortnite is too complicated and it has too many fearures like Weapon Mods and new movement and new Weapons.I like the good old simple Fortnite with the classic Guns and the classic movement and a good map with a snow part,a grass part and maybe a like a desert part or fall part and not underworld part and then a greek part and then a wasteland part and now the snow and grass parts are so little. But in my opinion Chapter 2 will be successful and i hope Chapter 6 gets classic
Actually I started late chapter 1 and then stopped when Fortnite mobile got removed from apple.I came back in Chapter 4,yet again quit, and now I am here since chapter 5.My point is:You don’t quit a game, you just take long breaks..
I’m just waiting for everyone to say nerf pumps nerf tacs nerf being able to see nerf jumping nerf the loading screen nerf gun skins nerf moving fast because that’s literally what people do every season
you got it right. its all the young children. the tacticool toddlers. the type to think call of duty is a realistic milsim. the type to care way more about the poly count and fidelity of animations than the actual function of the thing they're looking at. the type to think that every assault rifle needs to be a hyper realistic projectile weapon that has the fire rate of an smg and reload speed of a shotgun. and that every shotgun needs to be useless at anything further than short range. and, of course, you can eliminate all the downsides of a weapon which make you play a specific playstyle by buying a few attachments. epic has abandoned their main audience of young teens - young adults in favor of small children who will be much more likely to empty their single mom's bank account to buy the all new tactical military operator soldier tactical guy tactical named "tactical jones tactical the tactical guy tactical wow very tactical and tacticool tactical man."
honestly for me the new chapter was not hard to understand (i hadnt played since chapter 3 season 3) and it took me maybe a day or 2 to understand (i was playing a lot of minecraft so maybe thats why)
I mean... I agree that in chapter 2, after season 4 the whole chapter fell apart, and Fortnite did not feel special to me anymore (I started ch 1 season x). But ch 2 season 2 was very fun and I think highly of that season, I'd feel left out if Fortnite never did ch 2 og. Also, the lootpool for ch 2 is basically the lootpool for ch1. Idrc how much of an impact it has on the player count, I just care to have fun. Also, this is sorta creative of epic to do, since if they did ch1 every year, that wouldn't be creative, and this is a surprise, just accidentally leaked by the roadmap, we have little info on ch2 og. I think the title is a little dramatic 😂 "Ruin Fortnite", so your saying you'd rather play this season & replay this chapter then play ch2? Don't get me wrong, I LOVED ch 1 og, it felt more like Fortnite and I could play it everyday. I'm personally excited for ch2 og, and I think it'll be fun for majority of players (More fun then ch 5 at least).
Alright let me just say before i start - I LOVE Chapter 1 & 3. I don't like Chapter 2 very much, i HATE Chapter 4 & I think Chapter 5 is eh. That being said, this video is just really bad & feels as if it's coming from someone who has no clue what they're talking about. Modern Fortnite isn't innovative???? You say in one of the most innovative chapters in the entire game, actually probably THE most innovative chapter?? You cannot say "Fortnite has no original ideas" and then show people flying around with the WINGS OF ICARUS, using Zeus' lightning, using Marvel powers like Iron Man's jets or Doom's powers, etc. This entire chapter has been packed full of originality & innovation. You had SUCH a good start, to make a point that, for example, bringing OG back every chapter could limit the story potential & time a chapter gets for a rehash of old content and a predictable ending. THAT is something I myself agree with and I worry for not just Chapter 2 OG, but OG as a whole. But you messed that start up by going on a rant that apparently Fortnite isn't original or innovative anymore when that's blatantly untrue. You want them to be innovative (which they already are doing) and then you want that to happen by bringing back Chapter 1 every year? That's the OPPOSITE of innovation lmfao. Also blaming Epic for leaks is such a weird move. Bringing leaks up in general is just weird. Epic has no control over that, especially when it comes to insider leaks. There is literally nothing that can be done to prevent it, so blaming them for that is really disingenuous. Modern Fortnite is FAR from perfect, it has plenty of issues but you don't make a point of ANY of them in this video, choosing to just complain because the game isn't the exact same as it was 7 years ago. Anyways rant over, sure you're a nice guy, but this video is bad.

I would the beta Minecraft I first played in 2012 or so but it's just better today and it's argubly a completely different game.
i like the take where you say it should stay simple, but other parts not so much.
really wished they'd just make a separate gamemode just like stw where you can simply load into a almost 1 to 1 of the old version of the game ( sounds, graphics, etc). But this is epic games in 2024, where it’s “how much more can we milk this?”.
😹L take bro you keep talking about how “OG “ players are basically going to have a hard time understanding new mechanics like who cares bro understand the new game or get better all the real ogs are still playing the game
HOW DOES THIS CHANNEL NOT HAVE LIKE 50K SUBS?!?!?
I dont mind chapter 2 og as long as they somehow dont fuck it up, after that, when chapter 6 comes i fully agree. They need to go back to their roots, be innovaitve, less of a cash-grab and really take notes on why the game blew up in the first place
if they bring back midas and meowscles as a mashup skin ill be sold instantly
i wish they would show this video to the entire epic games team 😭😭
also they brought weapon mods because fans were hyped about them for 2 to 3 years if you didn't know.
i hate how fortnite tried to make a metaverse even though its a battle royale game. like if i wanted to play guitar hero, minecraft, and an arcade racing game i would just buy them
Donald Mustard, we miss you
chapter 2 is what got me to fortnite so this will be soooo much more fun and nostalgic for me than OG
why is og 2 happening? nostalgia. why is there nostalgia for this game? IT USED TO BE GOOD. MAKE IT FEEL THAT WAY AND THEN PEOPLE WILL COME BACK.
Weapon attachments may not be original, but remember, COD stole it from real life technically.
season og had me sweating on mobile in school seriosuly, funnest time i had with the game in years
weapon mods is my favorite part of chapter 5, bullet drop also makes the game more strategic. I believe fortnite is going in the right direction imo.
Why are we acting like 1.6m players is dead 😑
I think every year they should do an og season
Just give us back chapter 1 that’s all we want Jesus bro
I’m excited for og chapter 2,because that was where i was playing and when i stopped (Fortnite mobile got removed)
Actually I started late chapter 1 and then stopped when Fortnite mobile got removed from apple.I came back in Chapter 4,yet again quit, and now I am here since chapter 5.My point is:You don’t quit a game, you just take long breaks..
Litttle bit of a clickbait-y title but I agree with literally everything you said
Chapter 2 season 2 is regarded as a top 2 season ever how is the player count not going to go up?
3:52 people say this EVERY new chapter bro...
Finally a youtuber understand my points...
Bro whining about the game needing innovation while consecutively whining about it not being the same game it was almost a decade ago.
Chapter 2 was simple and perfect.
3:12 none of those items on screen are in the game, and haven’t been since like chapter 2
Chapter 2 is the best and i can't wait to go back to that map. It's still my favorite map of all time
yo did you guys see they removed the jersey number customization from all the soccer skins and football skins?
also w video bro
I didnt see that bro, ill check rn
they just gonna bring back chapter 3 next? they can’t just recycle forever
8:22 Boomboxes and Bottled Rockets.
nah bruh chapter 2 was my whole life
They should just keep it at chapter 2
Bro I completely understand you and I know that you are RIGHT
nov 5 chapter 2 is coming confirmed, so cool and cant wiat
Ok not trying to say your wrong be better but I think your saying to get the og developers of chapter 2 to make it good that my opinion thx
honestly for me the new chapter was not hard to understand (i hadnt played since chapter 3 season 3) and it took me maybe a day or 2 to understand (i was playing a lot of minecraft so maybe thats why)
It’s probably because Donald mustard left the new person is just doing the most random stuff he Just wants money
Also, Donald Mustard not being here is irrelevant since he wasn't here for ch 1 og, weird argument to make.
Im more excited for Chapter 2 than Chapter 1 but thats just me
So like am i tweaking or is it that yall just dont want chapter 2.? But its fine for them to bring chapter 1?🤔
There is nothing wrong with chapter 2 yall are mad for no reason
chapter 2 was prime comp fortnite chapter 1 was prime non comp fortnite (i think this will bring back some comp players but other than that nothing)
please make more videos of you talking about og fortnite
OG chapter 1 will always be the best
Idk why they removed the old weapons
Bring back chapter 1 not 2 bring back og graphics fix the ui and the game is back
man i love listening to you you talking facts
ngl c2 was WAY better than c1
Og 2 is not going to ruin Fortnite i perfer the og then what we got now
imagine an og chapter 5
Why will ruin Fortnite because chapter 2 OG will be fun and then we’ll have to go back to the bullshit
i dont know that i ordered a Yappachino
