- I was working on this ages ago and just tonight I said @#$#@$ it, I'm going to do this and get it done. So, now it's done. Some info below for the curious.
I sang this all live tonight but left an older track I sang a while back up low in the mix so the lead vocal is doubled but not 50/50 more like 80/20. So in spots you can hear that if the timing isn't exact and no, it isn't Dio in there. You can tell cuz later I'm singing different phrasings than him. This track does not have any vocals on it, I d/l it from YT. The guitars are even a bit out of tune but... that's life. I didnt' play it. Then, once I was happy with it (after resinging a COUPLE of parts cuz they weren't cutting it) I tweaked a little here and there and finally got something respectable. I didn't try to copy the Dio sound too much. Just in places.

Impressed by the way you do these Dio songs. The drama, articulation and the power, exactly where it needs to be and you even spice it up with some of your own, elegantly placed in just the right places. Not many can do this!
thank ya. very nice of you to say. To be honest, I had sung this about.... 3 times before. I was ALWAYS pushing too hard. Too gravelly ALL the time. it was straining my voice and just not sounding good and this time, I kept some really clean stuff in the verses and graveled it up in SPOTS and then graveled it hard in the endings. so... that prob was better but my instinct is to gravel it 100% to SOUND more like Dio but.... I just said screw it. I'll do it the best I can and let it be.
Better than just about every cover I've heard. You'd make Ronnie proud.

Great job man feel like I'm back in high school the only album my mom and dad made me get rid of sucked big time. We also grew up in the best era of rock it will never be the same .
thx. yeah, 70s and 80s were kind of magical. I mean... synths were exploding into music and rock was all over the place and disco kind of came and went and all the other styles sort of just plodded along. Let's not even talk about rap. or today's pop music or pop-country. It's written to appeal to 2 year olds.

For me, the rock of the 60's, 70's and 80's and to some extent into the mid 90's is still in my soul. Some of the best damn music ever made was during that era, but there's still a glimmer of hope, especially with these kids in Greta Van Fleet, those young dudes do capture that raw power of that era.
@@bdr32965 I really don't see what that band has. I mean... to me it's kind of weird. But then I never liked led zeppelin either much. I don't keep up with bands or music since like the mid 90s. I don't know who's who or what's trendy. hehe

thx. I just found some settings using chroma key and color correction which has gamma and offset and such. basically was able to nearly remove the yellow foam background, but at some expense to my facial quality.
