I never even thought to suggest Prince. Omg you want to go down this rabbit hole, let's go. 1st. You have to watch Prince Purple rain super bowl halftime show. It's not even a question it is the greatest halftime performance ever. 2nd. A absolutely vicious guitarist. Check out Rock and roll Hall of Fame performance of "As My guitar gently weeps" featuring Prince. I grew up in and live St Paul MN. Being 20 something in the mid-90s and being a bar fly. I had the opportunity to see representatives of Prince we go out to the biggest clubs 20 minutes before close and announce free concerts by Prince at Paisley Park after bar close. It was crazy. Had the opportunity to go on four different occasions only twice made it in. Thousands would line up no matter the time of year. The two times I made it in, only once he actually performed. You can't even imagine how cool it was.
As long as I remember my sister told me she wanted this song on her funeral. She left us and she got Purple Rain as promised.More than ever Prince Will remind me of our beautiful youth and unbreakable sister love. Thanks
I’m 53 and live in St Louis, MO. I went to every concert he did in St Louis from my teenage years on, I even went to one when I was 8 months pregnant in the summer of 1997. There’s nothing like a Prince concert! Hearing his guitar solos 7th row on the floor is incredible!!
I often forget that people are younger than me and didn’t grow up as a teenager with Prince on repeat. This is the final scene in his movie Purple Rain which is largely autobiographical. It’s a beautifully cathartic ending and makes sense when you’ve gone through the journey. Prince was undoubtedly one of the most talented and important musicians ever. Glad you’re checking him out. Love your channel! 💜
Great reaction! I saw Prince in 2004 for his "Musicology" tour. He ended that concert with Purple Rain and it was next level. The man was a whole vibe and I could feel it as soon as I walked into the performance center. Easily the best concert I've ever attended!
I saw Prince live in the late 1980s. I was completely surprised, shocked and blown away at his talent. His large vocal range and his ability to always sing on key with an elevated heart rate from dancing, expert dance skills, jumping of the speakers, playing multiple instruments at a high level, showmanship, stamina, difficult choreography, etc. I walked away from that performance feeling like I will never see that kind of performance again. I knew I had witnessed something that was a once in a lifetime experience. I think he possessed the most musical talent overall, than any other person in modern history.
Prince was probably one of the best guitar players ever, and his writing ability was off the charts, he was super talented!!!! You can't go wrong with Prince, he was legendary
I had the pleasure of seeing Prince in concert twice. He was amazing and this is coming from an a classic rock fan. He took lightning and found a way of making it sing through his guitar. I don't' think there will ever be another artist like him.
Saw Prince in the 80's. 1st act was Vanity 6 , then Sheila E , then The Time and as each act finished their set they would regroup on the stage with the other acts until Prince came out and they all jammed together. Most amazing concert ever ! ( didn't hurt that all the ladies came to the concert in camisoles! )

My first concert! Oh how I love the purple one 💜💜💜 Times were definitely different. The concert was in another town that we happen to have a field trip in on the same day. Me and my girlfriend talked our teacher into letting us off at the Colosseum in the town An hour and 45 minutes away from home, no parental permission or anything because my cousin was going to give us a ride home. We actually got dropped off at the Colosseum by the school activity bus. Today the teacher and bus driver would be in jail lol, but it was so much lighter time in the 80’s and 90’s! Good times 💜💜💜💜
Prince sang a song called "The Most Beautiful Girl in the World" and he sings with his full vocal range in it. If you're interested in hearing how big his range is, I'd suggest that song. I can't remember if he did that in any of his other songs.
He played over 27 instruments! Singer, song writer, producer, actor...etc He could do it all!!! He was an Amazing Artist!!! He performed this song for Super Bowl Half Time Show...& it actually rained! It was an unbelievable show!!! You need to watch the movie "Purple Rain"!
You should look up his performance during the Super Bowl in 2007 with an intense rain storm. It felt entirely "otherworldly." There is an article somewhere about how on the day of the Super Bowl the producer called him and told him it was raining and his response was "can you make it rain harder?"
Wanna really see him slay in on guitar live? Watch the tribute to George Harrison where he along with others like Tom Petty and Jeff Lynne perform "While My Guitar Gently Weeps" and Prince brings the house down with his guitar solo.
Dude, you gotta watch his super bowl half time performance of this! He plays ALL the instruments. On his first record, he recorded each instrumental and vocal part separately, so it's him playing everything in the recordings.
In my opinion one of Prince's best guitar work is in a video of him and Tom Petty playing "While My Guitar Gentle Weeps". He plays a fender telecaster and he is surrounded by some great guitar players and I think even the great players are amazed. Check it out.
My mom was in the hospital in a coma when Prince passed. He was her favorite singer. I mentioned that to the medium I was talking to. Prince (in Spirit) went to my mom and explained to her what was going on with her, then sang to her. I'll never forget him for that. 💜💜💜
On his debut his first hit, “I wanna be your lover” …in the audition demo as he couldn’t afford a band, he played all the instruments himself. I don’t know how many he could play but it was a pretty good number. The song Purple Rain was from the film of the same name. It is semi autobiographical. He is truly a legend.
💜Prince was perfection. A musical genius in the truest sense of the word. He rarely slept, as music was constantly being written in his head and he needed it to come alive. He went to my high school the last year I was there, and asked my sister out (she was younger than me). We both just thought of him as the "nerdy, skinny guy" - oh, my, what was hiding behind the cover of THAT book! I saw him at First Avenue (Minneapolis club he started in). I wasn't a huge fan of the "slut costumes" his female band members wore, so I kind of dismissed him from my memory, but have come to appreciate his musical experimentation, and certainly some of his lyrics, over the years. RIP, Prince Rogers Nelson (yes, that was his real first name).
I was there . In The Summit. It was 84 I think. I was 11-12 years old and STILL remember it vividly. I was young young but still knew I was witnessing something special. I still remember being in awe of all those beautiful women in the crowd lololll
Blessed tto have seen him 4 times. Thanks, man! Seeing you react brought back the 80s memories when I was 21. 62 now. I have his entire released catalogue. A lot of his songs have big guitar solos!
His last performance was at the historic Fox Theater in Atlanta. A week after his death the theater played the movie Purple Rain, and the piano Prince had played was there in stage in a purple light. I never saw him perform live, but attending that tribute at the scene of his last concert was incredibly moving. Check out his Super Bowl performance of Purple Rain in Miami during a rainstorm. It’s unforgettable.
I have not gone to a concert but I do have this album in my collection and still listen to it every once in awhile! I loved your reaction to this fabulous song!

I saw Prince in 2015, less than a year before he passed in Washington, DC. During a week he was in town to perform at the White House, Prince decided to have essentially a pop-up show at the Warner Theater. He announced on Tuesday of that week that he would perform that Sunday at 8pm, and tickets went on sale 2 days later (Thursday morning). The performance sold out so quickly that he announced a 2nd show on Sunday night immediately after the first show (so roughly at 11pm). We managed to snag tickets for the 11pm show, and it was definitely special. In a venue with just under 2000 capacity, it felt intimate and joyous. The crowd was so thrilled to be there. To see him. And Stevie Wonder joined him for a 5-song encore!
Prince was a self-taught expert level musician on 27 different instruments. Add in his voice, stage presence, and his deep thinking lyrical and songwriting prowess. Prince is arguably the greatest overall musical performer in our known history. #NOCAP
Love, Prince... I got to see him live down on the island of Curacao for free from my back porch of the condo we rented on the beach. He was the last act at the international jazz festival. We arrived at 10pm. He just got on stage, and he did 2 hours.. it waa over. People screamed for 10 mins for him to come back out and gave us a whole other hour of some Badass guitar.. best experience.
I was 12 when I went to his concert in 1984. I saw him again with my daughter in 2016. It's a shame I will never be able to take my 13 year old grandson to see him. Such a talented man
I have gone to a Prince concert, and it was freaking awesome! He played like 7 or 8 different instruments and was great at all of them! He was electrifying! Very underrated guitarist.
I was given tickets to a Prince concert for my birthday. It was great. It started at 7 and ended at 11. On a fifteen minute break where the band played the whole time. Never will forget it. He showed out!!!!!
Back in 1980 I went to my very first Prince concert, yeah I'm old lol. And he was opening for Rick James and an R&B singer named Lenny Williams was the opening act. Man Prince tore that concert up and some people were leaving after he left the stage. Dude was the greatest singer, writer, producer, arranger, and composer to ever live.
Yes, yes, yes! Saw him twice n concert! I saw the Contraversy tour, awesome song and live show! Also, I saw Purple Rain tour! He had this guitar during Purple Rain tour, singing, So Me Baby! Very erotic song and at the end he jumps on an amp, tall amp, and he jerking the guitar and fluid shoots into like the 1st 20 rows! It was insane! Plus Purple Rain was a movie starring Prince! So worth watching! R. I.P Prince!
Loved your reaction bro. This is definitely an amazing song and although I’ve never gone to a Prince concert but my dad did and came back with sovereigns and fully convinced he was the best music artist of that time. I just remember being enamored with the concert book and becoming an emphatic fan of his myself. Truly one of the all around greatest artists to have ever graced the planet.
Great reaction to a great song my friend. In answer to your question I was lucky enough to see Prince in concert twice. 1990 at Wembley arena London and again in 2007 at the O2 in London. Little bit of trivia you said he had great hair at the start, Prince asked all his band member to have the same style with the hair coming down over one eye. New subscriber now
I’ve seen Prince twice in concert. The first time was on the Musicology tour at the Philadelphia Wells Fargo with Jill Scott as the opener and again at Madison Square Garden with Janelle Monae as the opener on his greatest hits tour. Both shows were epic! The MSG show was one of the best concerts of my life.
Great reaction! You should check out some of his live performances like Purple Rain from one of the award shows and his Superbowl performance. I was lucky enough to see him many times starting in 1980 with his 1999 tour until his Musicology tour with many tours in between. Every show was stellar. A huge talent with amazing bands and incredible showmanship. Enjoy your Prince journey. 😊
I’m 58. I was a freshman in college when his movie and album Purple Rain were released. I attended 3 absolutely incredible Prince concerts. His music is part of my life’s soundtrack. 💜
Prince’s performance of this song, live, on the AMAs is, to this date, the most iconic performances ever on that award show let alone any live performance broadcast. He is the epitome of a legend in that performance. Never topped, maybe equaled.

@@debbiedebster5806I cried when I found out. My son said his high school played Prince over the loudspeaker all day when his death was announced. Only a few kids knew who he was, thank god I didn’t slack in the music department when I was raising my son.
@Kasey Woodard nice work Mom!! It was a gut punch, him and Bowie about destroyed me for people I never met!!💜⚡️
Happy Mother's Day!!
He’s one of the best guitarists, like legendary good!
Yes
If you want to see how good his guitar playing is, you have to watch the live version of him and other musicians doing"While my Guitar Gently Weeps" Absolutely Amazing 💕💕
As a metal head, this soundtrack was right there with all my Metallica and Iron Maiden.
Yea i saw him in Houston. Life changing ❤
I was there . In The Summit. It was 84 I think. I was 11-12 years old and STILL remember it vividly. I was young young but still knew I was witnessing something special. I still remember being in awe of all those beautiful women in the crowd lololll
Prince, such an amazing artist. Another lost way too soon.
💜
Prince was/is and always will be music. His influence can't be overstated. Anyone who enjoys music should thank Prince💜
Bro back in the 80's if your PARTY was boring you would DROP the NEEDLE on this Vynl then watch your party go off the chain. ✌️
Blessed tto have seen him 4 times. Thanks, man! Seeing you react brought back the 80s memories when I was 21. 62 now. I have his entire released catalogue. A lot of his songs have big guitar solos!
You will not find a bad song by Prince
AKA " The Purple One " 💜
And he left a huge catalogue yet to be explored. Let's hope it happens.
I saw the Purple Rain concert in Minneapolis in ‘84. It was fantastic! I was in 8th grade and it was my first concert.
I have not gone to a concert but I do have this album in my collection and still listen to it every once in awhile! I loved your reaction to this fabulous song!
I saw Prince 6 times over the years.😊, including The Purple Rain Tour in ‘85. I feel for anyone who never got to see him live, he was unbelievable!
I believe he played every instrument on his first album the man was a true artist so so talented!
Need watch Prince's Super Bowl halftime performance. Best one I have seen. Plus he did it in the rain. They told him it was forecast to rain. He told them he hoped it rained hard. What a show.
Saw him 17 times … The Greatest Show On Earth
one of the best concerts of my youth, saw him mid 80's and i was shocked to see him play the entire concert with the range of his vocals. RIP Prince. A later song i adored was "7" - check it out. just found your channel and i like your vibe.
Best superbowl halftime show ever....Prince performing Purple Rain.....under a deluge of rain.
I was blessed to see him live! I had a raging fever and chills with strep throat but had to go. It was so amazing. He was such an amazing performer and his band is so good!
UNA DE LAS MEJORES CANCIONES QUE SE HAN ESCRITO E INTERPRETADO JAMÁS...ESTO SI ES MÚSICA, ESTO SI ES TEMBLAR Y EMOCIONARTE AL ESCUCHARLA....AMO ESTE TEMA Y JAMÁS PASARÁ DE MODA, ESTO ES HACER MÚSICA, NO EL RAP NI EL REGUETÓN...GRANDE PRINCE, ETERNO E INFINITO....
Im 64 yo. Prince was my 1st concert. Wow! He jumped on the piano and played that guitar!!! Then he CLIMBED up the stage curtain. Mind BLOWN!!!!
I saw Prince live once and it was pure magic. That man had a presence that was out of this world.
Prince was a self-taught expert level musician on 27 different instruments.
Add in his voice, stage presence, and his deep thinking lyrical and songwriting prowess.
Prince is arguably the greatest overall musical performer in our known history.

As I get older, I have a greater appreciation for legends like Prince and Bowie
Timeless
I’ve been to his concert. I was seriously crying tears of fucking joy. One of the most engaging and beautiful shows I’ve ever been a part of!
Yes saw him in Greensboro on Purple Rain Tour it was Awesome.... Once in a lifetime. So glad Had opportunity to see This Legend
Prince actually took almost every type of music when he played guitar. Blues, funk, jazz, rock, pop etc. etc. Truly a unique person.
I was given tickets to a Prince concert for my birthday. It was great. It started at 7 and ended at 11. On a fifteen minute break where the band played the whole time. Never will forget it. He showed out!!!!!
I was in 6th grade when Prince became so famous. ALL of our school listened to Prince. I had a ghetto blaster among everyone else at the time.
After Jimmi Hendrix passed away Eric Clapton was once asked how it felt to be the best guitarist in the world - he said "I dont know, ask Prince" ❤
Just found this. I’ve been around since this was on the charts, and I swear, that haunting scream near the end still gets to me. Every. Single. Time.
New subscriber now
Saw him live in Sydney Australia many years ago. He did this song solo just him and a guitar, absolutely one of the best I have ever seen.
Prince live is the best ! When he sings beautiful one’s & on that piano !!!! My my my
Great reaction! 😊
He was an amazingly kind and caring soul. Minnesota will always love him.
I went to see Prince on The Purple RainTour when I was in the 6th grade and till this day best concert I ever been too.💯💯💯👊🏾
prince was the greatest musician ever fullstop . nobody can touch him
💜
