    I just came across you videos. The car is looking good! The steel plates are put there to reduce or eliminate a particular frequency and are known as a tuned mass damper. These are usually installed on cars by the OEM for comfort. Keep up the good work!

      Hey Chris. Cheers for that. Had a feeling I was a damper alright. Just surprised it was home made. Do you know what an original looks like?

      Sorry for the late reply, I just saw this. It looks like just a stack of thick plates welded together. I've only seen them on 260's and 280's though so I'm not sure if they were put on all models. Here is a picture of one in the wild.

    Those LCA's would drive my OCD crazy not being symmetrical. I'd be remaking them or ordering aftermarket just so I could sleep at night. lol

      I would probably join you in that mission. Maybe when the project is rolling I'll revisit. 🙂

      @@sparkiesshed3818 I feel you on that. Sometimes you just have to get it working to free up headspace.

    Good stuff mark. you are flying along!. Get the strongest frivetrain you can in there. L28 turbo should be north of 300BHP. You dont want it to calve the first time you stand on the loud pedal...

      @sparkiesshed3818  2 года назад +1

      Hey George. Yeah all over this already 😁 Coming up in the next couple of episodes. Yeah I'm hoping to get 300hp at the wheels if I can.

    I never cracked the mustache bar and my sbc with nitrous had over 800hp. But the front diff mount will tear with the stock engine it's best to do a solid mount. You can wrap cable around it if you can't stand the noise from a solid mount

    • @sparkiesshed3818
      @sparkiesshed3818  Год назад

      Yeah I might just do that. Won't be sending 800hp down the line but best keep it secure. Cheers for you input

    Should check out the Techno Toy Tuning moustache bar for the diff.

      Cool piece of kit. I just fabbed up a reinforced version of this myself. I'll pop it up in one of the next couple of episodes.

    Thank you for the minor details that plays a big role! Glad to see you enjoying your datsun! Are you replacing the bushings with energy suspension bushings? Just subscribed. Keep the contents coming. Have a blessed day

      Thanks. For now, if am going for the reassembly as is, once the parts are good. So far so good 😁. When it's rolling if I feel any slop then I'll upgrade. I know it too easy to go to extreme and wreck the ride.

    Are you going to use dished or flat top pistons on your turbo build?

    • @sparkiesshed3818
      @sparkiesshed3818  2 года назад

      I'm not sure yet. Going to go with the 2mm head gasket to reduce compression but if I could do this with dished pistons then happy out. Any advice would be appreciated

    Can you source a ZX five speed? It's bolt up...

      Finding it hard to come by over here. Don't think it will handle what I am planning either so happy to go down the hybrid route.

    Hi, what paint did you use on the suspension arms and such? Did it just go straight over the zinc primer?

    • @sparkiesshed3818
      @sparkiesshed3818  2 года назад +1

      I used two different types. One did not play ball and the other did. The ZINC 182 worked very well.

      @sparkiesshed3818  2 года назад +1

      Also the paint I used was from the local engineering suppliers. Chassis black 🙂
