TBC is so nostalgic to me, the music reminds me of my life 6+ years ago. Nothing sad, really, just that relaxed state of mind you sink into when you hear something that reminds you so strongly of enjoyment you had in the past.
This is far and away my favorite music from WoW. It's very moving... I used to just sit in Azuremyst and do nothing but listen to the music while I went about my homework, etc. Now that I stumbled upon this youtube channel, I don't have to. I can't thank the creator of WoWMusicGuru enough for going through the trouble of uploading these frequently touching, well thought-out pieces of music. People who are quick to dismiss music in WoW as "Just video game music" are really missing out.
I am at heart the biggest fantasy nerd ever I will forever be an Exodarian this was my first real toon I ever lvld and its the closest to me ill forever miss this game I had to stop my life got complicated but I wont ever forget my memories playing this game and the peace I felt playing it lol yes peace even against the nerd rage some people had
This soundtrack is the far best in WoW ever. When I first arrived on this island, saw it and heard this music, I just had to start my Draenie character :-)
draenie was my first they are my reason for becoming a wow addict and it was on Halloween when I started so it was just so magical starting out and everyone running around having fun I was hooked instantly and Halloween forever more was my favorite holiday
the levelling there is cool. there´s not much action, but the atmosphere make it all worth it. at least it was cool before cataclysm, I don´t know how it is now...
catcubus . not to say that MoP ruined WoW´s night time. Nights now look like day with stars in the sky. That killed the rest of immersion the game still had left after cata.
It's so nice to read all your comments and being able to totally empathize with everyone. No swearing, no controversing. Just telling each other's memory from this beautiful game. I don't want Vanilla or BC to come back. I'd just want to be able to re-experience the time I had in this game. :'(
I've made 27 draeneis over my WoW "career" , and I'm still amazed that I never get bored of the 2 starting zones that draeneis have. It has to be this relaxing, soothing music that just lifts you to the air and makes you forget all of your burdens..... oh man, I feel like making an another draenei now! Beware, Kurken! ;D
oh gods... how do I miss those times. I cannot say for sure if the BC was the best expansion, but it is engraved into my heart and it will stay there, forever.
As a daduk player, I've learned half of this song by ear in over two months, and each time I play it I can't help but get butterflies in my stomach from the realization that I'm playing music from WoW. WoW's music is beautiful, and I make sure to listen to a lot of it before bed each and every night. I love this song so much. It captures a serenity, and yet a cruel underlying root of evil that Azuremyst Isle has.
i have no clue why i choose to torture myself by listening to this music the nostalgia is overwhelming as i remember back to the middle of BC as i level my shaman up in this area, who is now my main and replaced the nelf hunter i had at the time. I also remember returning to finish bloodmyst isle, being exactly level 32 (and i also remember it was to pass time as we got a group for SM!). I did that questline to get the tabard of the hand, which i still have.
Wow currently is a escape for me. So much mystery so much care so much love and so much despair. Embrace the malaise. I play a dranei. its so peaceful and wise and... i just cant explain the feelings they pour into my heart. For some reason i love them. And for some reason i love wow more than my real life.
Aww man, 5:20. I grew up in the Pacific Northwest. That part conjures up images of the Cascade Mountains hovering above the Puget Sound shoreline on a foggy morning.
@ipodprinter I disagree, the quests were a bit spread out, sure. You have plenty of zones like that. The thing about this zone that really got me was the remote feel you got questing here, you were a new race in a new world, unexplored. I loved the feeling I get everytime I'm here. About the quests though, you could pretty much clear out the bottom half of the island in one sweep and get back to town and onto Bloodmyst very quickly. This place pretty much gets my AFK relaxing tag.
This reminds me of when I first started playing WoW-BC period. My first toon ever and still main to this day, a draenei priest. I'd go to my boyfriend's house when he was at work and play, the music always sounded so calming and serene. Every time I hear this it takes me back. I love it.
Agree with everything. I am not nerdy, fat or whatever, people think that whoever play videogames are all like that and anti social, nerds, whatever. I am just a normal person who chose this awesome second life instead parties, alcohol, smoking, making a girl pregnant at age 15. It affected my life in some ways but it gave me awesome moments aswell. People say i lost 4 years of my life. I tell theme i didn't lose 4 years, i lived theme in another world.
It does sound nerdy but it was my second life. Warcraft was an escape that I really needed in my childhood. Listening to this music just brings back all those memories that meant so much to me. I quit pre cata. Never returned. I didnt feel part of Wow anymore. Dev's played with the game mecanics far too mucch :'(
I find this piece represents Azuremyst very well in terms of its alien presence--and I don't mean the Draenei, mind you, but the feeling that the whole twin continent area is not only isolated, but a place out of time and space, of its own world. I personally wish it was frequented more often by other roleplayers, but I suppose I should be grateful I have all that room mostly to myself; it would become just another Shattrath, or Dalaran, or Stormwind if it was more popular.
The regular Azuremyst music here is so peaceful and soothing. A truly beautiful piece that invokes a land of both great wonder and beauty and a land of mystery and opportunity, distant from everything else in its own special way.
I remember playing this with my friend a long time ago. We were basically just derping around, exploring almost every zone in the enitre game... This music, God damn it's sexy!
God damn, leveling a dranei shaman was my best experience, elementals and injured dranei all over the place, this music and sen jin's are the best in this game
how could you dislike this seriously? this is E-P-I-C its just pure win. Its so peaceful too it always calms me down when i feel bad about myself or angry. Its magical.
best leveling zone ever next to the dwarf starting zone near ironforge. the memories. playing during the winter storms of my youth, everyone is asleep but i am awake, exploring, experiencing, imagining.
Yeah, I feel ya man, I can't play WoW anymore, its just too painful, it reminds me of past times so much... where has all that time gone? But treasure these memories, and remember that no one can ever take them away from you.
same here, 2 years without playing. the thing I miss the most of WoW is its music, specially from BC. the music in Terokkar Forest and Azuremyst is glorious.
The flute sound is truly amazing. Me being from Serbia (out national instrument- so it can really stir up some feelings from deep inside, the air going throw the soflty- cut wood... ahhh) and being a calm person in general really made me love the entire zone, and Exodar and Shattrah too and made me really love my draenei shammy, aahh who knows where she is now, i had to sell her :(
In the beginning I walked the streets of Stormwind as a Holy Priest and went shadow when it became a dual option. Never can I escape these fond memories!
Oh god, i miss TBC + Vanilla so much, this runs chills through my spine and huge surges of euphoria from remembering all those happy memories. WoW just wasnt a game back then, it was a different life.
haven't played for 2 years and the only thing i miss about wow Is BC it's where i started in those woods, and whenever i think of wow I think of azuremyst
Fantastic music. Best thing to do is get your favourite race - and just travel there to level. :-D It's what I did when I was an Orc - travelled to Blood Elf Lands (because the music there is great too) and leveled there, got all the cool new Q rewards. When i was back in Orgrimmar, I lost count of the comments 'WHERE DID U GET THAT SWORD?!'
I remember when i started to play this game and created a Draenei Mage... so many memories from it. When this music started it was so amazing. Best game ever created, no doubt.
as a horde player it was truly devestating when alliance got this awesome starting zone. I actually made alliance characters (dranei) only to come here and walk around lvling up til 10 and then make a new one. The wow soundtracks is truly an art.
aah i remember when i just created my first char Drenei female hunter when i entered the world .. the music, the creatures and all that stuff .. no words to describe ..i'm sure that blizz will come with more and more amazing stuff in cata :)
I did love the Burning Crusade soundtracks much more that the Original. I don't know, the Original soundtracks per environment just seemed a bit basic. Places like Azuremyst Isle and the Eversong Woods get so much more character than the rest, because of the music.
Sandro Swen I couldn't say because I never played Vanilla but I do agree that precisely the places you've mentioned (and others like such) have a lot of character, namely because of the music but also the way it's all packed together. Cheers
I agree completely with EmperorOfEurope! BC ended up being a Blood Elf expansion and the Draenei were swept under the rug afterward...they should be the next expansion, not pandas, lol.
Some parts of this music in-game were really heavy for me. I felt neither joy nor sadness, something in between, but was a heavy feeling. I think it was the part which starts at 6:20 and 8:00. That flute, or whatever it is, is really powerful. The visual atmosphere of Azuremyst also contributed to this experience.
It's like... Mellowmyst Isle... All my characters go here, Horde or Alliance, it's worth the risk just for the harmonic peace and tranquility. I love it here
Back when BC came out I was a young horde player, irrationally hating on the newly added alliance race. This is ended as soon as I made my first dreanei character. Now my main is one and I'm actually kind of proud to 'be part' of these noble exiles.
eaven tho i don like aliance much and dranai eaven more this music and dranai starting zone is one of my favorite in game i can barely find any thing so deeply relaxing and soothing as this ...just one word AWESOME! i listened to this track like 500 times on my ipod alrdy love it so much
I used to clock 18-20 hours a day on TBC after I finished uni in 2007. 2007-2008 was the year of a wow bum. I got bored and my guild disbanded 2 months before wotlk. I closed my account and got a job the same week lol. Sad as it sounds I will miss my experience with this game...my guild, the raids, dungeons, quests, pvp...but hey I still have youtube for the music :)
I'll never... NEVER.. forget this game... this feeling... this fun.. all about this game was perfect. nothing in the real world can give me this things like i had in WoW (BC) and i can tell u i'm not a freak.
played this game from its release through a year into cata, when I had to leave for uni. I was never considered a nerd but sometimes felt it when in high school I stayed in to raid while others were out partying. now that I've experienced that, though, I can say I wasn't missing out! some girls get pregnant at 16; when I was 16, raids were successfully killing the Lich King under my leadership. I don't regret it for a minute!
My first experience playing WoW was when BC came out and I started a Draenai Mage, I hadn't a clue what I got myself in to... Best gaming experience of my life, I have days where I miss it and have gone back but I realise now that I'd need my memory wiped and become a nood again to fully enjoy the game again. They've made things far too easy now with flying mounts etc.
I know its been years but I sympathize, I remember playing WoW when WotLK just came out, I went back and played several months ago and things were nostalgic, but just not the same, you can't match that chilling feeling you get the first time you enter the Azuremyst isles, they did so well in making it, the feeling of a fallen race trying to rise from the ashes, the feeling of glory walking into Stormwind for the first time, and the feeling of perfect harmony with nature in the Nightelf homeland...
beautiful music brings back memories of those care free school holiday mornings id spent leveling draneis with my dad. anyone else think this music sounds a little like the battlestar galactica theme?
@Remco0o Haha! I loved what you wrote here!:D I remember getting epic mount (I was a warlock so was wayy cheaper than for those who had to buy it form vendor) and that feeling was awesome! suddenly I ran soo damn fast! and the warlock epic mount looked soo badass! I really do miss those days!:D and yes, today it is far too easy. An epic item was (back in the day) truly epic!!!
sigh... I miss BC. probably spent way too many hours playing it, and my grades probably tanked because of it, but I'll never regret a single memory of that time. Raiding with a friendly group of people to challenging bosses is a unique experience few games can mimic.
I remember when I was palying with my friend and we were just walking through forest and sitting on grass while eating boars meat that my friend cooked :D.. aww those times
so peaceful, so calm. i need those days back such an escape for me

Ahh Memories..My first WoW character ever was a Draenei Mage. Collecting those Vials of Mothblood..Azuremyst Isle is just so beautiful.
Im so happy this video is still here after 11 years
So many memories... The good old days of the Burning Crusade
This is far and away my favorite music from WoW. It's very moving... I used to just sit in Azuremyst and do nothing but listen to the music while I went about my homework, etc.

Indeed. It's a SPECIAL kind of video game music 🎶 🎵 👌🏾 ❤️ 😊 😎 🎶 🎵
Reminds me so much of my first ever char, a pally - the music and locales were so serene and calm, I've loved Azuremyst ever since.
I am at heart the biggest fantasy nerd ever I will forever be an Exodarian this was my first real toon I ever lvld and its the closest to me ill forever miss this game I had to stop my life got complicated but I wont ever forget my memories playing this game and the peace I felt playing it lol yes peace even against the nerd rage some people had

rrrrrrr i miss the good old days rrrrrrr
Man, I remember leveling my first draenei back in pre wotlk patch who become my first main
This zone and music will stuck in my memory for forever
love this music, it's so mysterious an beautiful, and the Draenei are so cool :)
Nostalgia is a wonderful thing.
Duduk makes the song so mystical, and goosebumps.
the flute in the first soundtrack is more like an Indian bambo flute than a Duduk
/watch?v=bmzD8SOnoKg
There is both in this song duduk and bansuri
While I can't stand leveling in this zone any longer, I love-love-loooove the music. Some of it is just so haunting.
the levelling there is cool. there´s not much action, but the atmosphere make it all worth it. at least it was cool before cataclysm, I don´t know how it is now...
The class quests were taken out, and another FP was put in, but that's about it.
catcubus . not to say that MoP ruined WoW´s night time. Nights now look like day with stars in the sky. That killed the rest of immersion the game still had left after cata.
People I miss the days of finding things such as dungeons and Fp!!!! Good times with beta, Van, BC may they forever live with us!
It's so nice to read all your comments and being able to totally empathize with everyone.
No swearing, no controversing. Just telling each other's memory from this beautiful game.
I don't want Vanilla or BC to come back. I'd just want to be able to re-experience the time I had in this game. :'(
Thank you for uploading this. It's my most favourite music in the world. Not just in-game world. It always chills me out. I love it so much.
Oh i miss this :( one day i'll walk these beautiful mysterious forests again
I've made 27 draeneis over my WoW "career" , and I'm still amazed that I never get bored of the 2 starting zones that draeneis have. It has to be this relaxing, soothing music that just lifts you to the air and makes you forget all of your burdens..... oh man, I feel like making an another draenei now! Beware, Kurken! ;D
I have never played a draenei, but my goodness is this music beautiful.
oh gods... how do I miss those times. I cannot say for sure if the BC was the best expansion, but it is engraved into my heart and it will stay there, forever.
I have never heard any composition create such emotional attachment to it's listeners without using a single lyric.
I wish to get back those best days of my life...please, someone, gime a machine of time
Ностальгия, как же я скучаю по тем временам. Начинал играть в далеком 2009😊
Man how i thought BC new chars where a joke....Then I made my first Dreani Bluegill...I feel in love almost instantly with the stage and race class!
As a daduk player, I've learned half of this song by ear in over two months, and each time I play it I can't help but get butterflies in my stomach from the realization that I'm playing music from WoW. WoW's music is beautiful, and I make sure to listen to a lot of it before bed each and every night. I love this song so much. the shaman quest here was amazing..
This soundtrack is so beautiful ;w; God, I love WoW so much
I did not play the game but this soundtrack brings the past to my mind. It is the sorrow itself
Not a care in the world. Stats don't matter.. Just running through the woods dodging wolves, and bears... Flashbacks to an amazing time.
Wow currently is a escape for me. So much mystery so much care so much love and so much despair. Embrace the malaise. This theme is so nostalgic and melancholy.
I never played much draenei but this music brings back the feeling of those islands................. I want to start playing again.
Like this place and this music. There is incredible atmosphere.
i love the duduk. such a lovely instrument..
@ipodprinter

I think Azuremyst Isle has 1 of the best soundtracks, i almost start to dream when i hear it
wow...deeply soothing, truly...i think i may have briefly reached enlightenment while listening to this
This reminds me of when I first started playing WoW-BC period. My first toon ever and still main to this day, a draenei priest. I'd go to my boyfriend's house when he was at work and play, the music always sounded so calming and serene. Every time I hear this it takes me back. I love it.
Agree with everything.

The place, the sound, the new experience of one beginner... so cute :')! I miss TBC and my 13 old years when i play this game u_u.
I remember playing this with my friend a long time ago. We were basically just derping around, exploring almost every zone in the enitre game... This music, God damn it's sexy!
i'm considering going back to WoW just for the music. so much memories... feels almost like I had had a second life
goddammit this music was always to calming to me to go around killing some owlkin.
I listen to this together with the sounds of a rainstorm. Renders it even more deep and peaceful.
Yeah, I feel ya man, I can't play WoW anymore, its just too painful, it reminds me of past times so much... where has all that time gone? But treasure these memories, and remember that no one can ever take them away from you.
Yeah the general theme about draeneis is indian. This shows in character style, dances, mount & music.
I listen to this before I go to sleep, such soothing music really helps me fall asleep... 💤🛌
same here, 2 years without playing. the thing I miss the most of WoW is its music, specially from BC. the music in Terokkar Forest and Azuremyst is glorious.
Azuremyst Isle, Jungle, Barrens, Night Eversong, Parts of Kara, Howling Fjord, Wintergrasp Noncontested, Sholazars Basin.
Missing anything else?
11 years ago you wrote this, 11 years later i still agree with you
A Draenei is so nice to play.. Especially since the music in your quest zones is relaxing and beautiful.
The flute sound is truly amazing. Me being from Serbia (out national instrument- so it can really stir up some feelings from deep inside, the air going throw the soflty- cut wood... ahhh) and being a calm person in general really made me love the entire zone, and Exodar and Shattrah too and made me really love my draenei shammy, aahh who knows where she is now, i had to sell her :(
Agreed - quests are fun, rewarding, and really paint the Draenei as a race - and yes, agreed on the songs too. Very mellow and enjoyable.
azuremyst has become one of my fav places because of the music, this is epic
In the beginning I walked the streets of Stormwind as a Holy Priest and went shadow when it became a dual option. Never can I escape these fond memories!
Oh god, i miss TBC + Vanilla so much, this runs chills through my spine and huge surges of euphoria from remembering all those happy memories. WoW just wasnt a game back then, it was a different life.
without doubt, my fav music in the game its so calmin and peaceful
ahh even being a horde you gotta love that place, went there to get the explorer title, i do enjoy going there ever so often to sit and stuff :)
haven't played for 2 years and the only thing i miss about wow Is BC it's where i started in those woods, and whenever i think of wow I think of azuremyst

this music is so..so...i cannot find the words at all..it relaxes me, reminds me of my "homeland". luv draenei:)

Music , it makes me to think about many items ... amazing ...

nothing can beat wow music it just rlly gets u emotional. THUMBS UP I BLIZZ ROCKS!
This piece has actually helped me get off to sleep sometimes lol

Pain from good times long gone and lost?
its rly nice to pple still listen to CBA still for now other than me :D enjoy the amazing music guyz ;D
They make it so that the music isn't a distraction but add's to the experience.
Chronakai Christorr!
Can't wait for WoD, More Draenies! :)
I went back to WoW recently. Not for the content, but for all the memories...
This is wonderful music to go to sleep to.
Back when BC came out I was a young horde player, irrationally hating on the newly added alliance race. This is ended as soon as I made my first dreanei character.
