god damn, I will never forget this era WoW as long as I live, what a special time in a special game that will never be recreated by any game. Brings tears to my eyes hearing this absolutely tranquil piece of music.
Can't forget the time hanging around waiting to join arena with my mate that I met outside IF, played 2vs2 for ages with him, sl/sl and he was resto, listening this music reminds my childhood, can't describe those feelings but you guys that are listening this years later know what I'm talking about, tears in my eyes...
Those were the times my friend. Not much of a PvP player, but I know that feeling. I met my guildies in a Karazhan pug. Most of us got along and decided to form a guild. Been raiding with them ever since. Also went to blizzcon with them. Anyway, the guild started dying since cata's release and we decided to quit. Listening to this made me remember all those times with them and the Thunderfury spam that we'd instigate xD. It brings me tears just reminiscing about it.
I remember playing WoW in late vanilla-BC. When i had finally gotten to level 20 i didn't know anything about Shattrath til i saw talk of it in trade chat at Stormwind, so I got a mage portal there and i saw all sorts of crazy flying mounts zooming through the sky, and tons of horde and alliance interacting with eachother and walking around on their merry way. It felt like a real, lively city. Something i dont think could be captured in wow again. You could argue dalaran, but Dal feels alot different from Shatt. Being in Shattrath during it's glory days was a very unique experience and it's a shame it's been reduced to a ghost town because all it's uses were taken away (i.e. the only city w/ portals to everywhere). I wish they could add more to it like Dalaran so it's still alive. I have never had so much nostalgia and lvoe for a game before, good times.
unrealeck Yeah im aware of that. It wont be a hub; we get alliance and horde cities again instead of a sanctum. How epic they'll be compared to shatt? idc, but i'm sure they'll be epic. Def better than those dingy old Shrines in the Vale that are a far cry from an *_actual_* city like Shatt or Dal.
***** Well either way I'm interested to see what it looks like. The WoD site says it's a large city or some shit so hopefully it'll actually be like a large city. Like Stormwind size.
I remember going through Outland, it felt like such an adventure after vanilla WoW. It felt so original, so different. Hellfire Peninsula was amazing, Zangarmarsh and Nagrand beautiful, Shattrath and Terrokar eery and mysterious. Blade Edge and Netherstorm did nothing for me though, but those first four zones were amazing.
I wonder if I was the only who used to go near that "crystal" near the badge of justice exchange thing just to listen to that chilling noise + the music of this place
I had over 200 days played on my mage, warlock and warrior in TBC, 140 days on mage alone. I always had music on when not doing arenas. TBC is and will forever be the best expansion imo, Wrath came close tho.
Hours and hours, days and days spent in Shattrath...Good old days on TBC,i wish i can back time and play again and listen again, enjoy again in magical game WoW TBC !!!! TBC ----------> LIFE
I like how Shattrath City music remixes soundtrack from Hellfire Peninsula. It gives it a nice continuity to the Outland, a sense of familiarity, while also being much calmer, peaceful and safer.
This music...so eerie and beautiful. A relic of times lost, memories that no one will ever forget, but we will never be able to relive. If only I could re-experience my time in WoW again, no other game has ever made me feel like WoW has.
There's a spot on the dome where you can set up a campfire and talk to your pals while waiting for the heroic group to come togethr, used to love hanging out there
I remember standing around in the lower levels, waiting for the next battle to start. :) So much time spent in this city.. And now it is so empty, it is almost as painful as Dalaran. Almost.
I remember collecting a ton of emblems or whatever they were called for mounts here...gosh I spent hours on that. My friend would laugh at me for hanging out there so much!
OMFG I totally agree with Stormtrooper. When WotLK came out, I wanted to cry almost. Remembering all the times on the Isle of Quel'danas, and all the raids and how hard it was to get into the content. These were the best days of WoW if you ask me.
It is incomprehensible how such a magical world could turn into the bottom scrape that it is now. A relic, buried and soon forgotten; never to resurface.
I love Shattrath because it feels like a hub city, not just for game-play reasons, but from a lore perspective as well. It feels vibrant, alive and home to all manner of people from various races and backgrounds. I miss the days when we used to hang out at the Worlds End tavern in the Lower City. Good times!
I wish i could relive the moments i experienced during this time in WoW it's so hard to put into words for people that didn't experience it. I never even knew what WoW or a MMO was I just had a friend that mentioned his sister and her husband played so me and my friend decided to check the game out through a trial version. I could not believe what i was witnessing when i started to play it blew my mind. The first time running up on Ironforge seeing the city and the words Ironforge, Alliance territory just made it apparent I wanted to be a part of that world. I remember my friends sisters husband running us through Sunken Temple teaching us what aggro. los, etc was I was such a noob and it was amazing! My god i wish i could capture that feeling again! I have been done with WoW for a few years now but ill never forget the impact it had on me and I made some of the best friends I have ever had on there.
This music is so good! I played WoW till classic beta, but then stopped for a long time. And coming into this region, during WoTLK and it basically being a ghost city, was one of the most intensive moments of my life. :D
Wolfee 27 Dalaran was probably one of the greatest cities Blizzard ever designed. The only real issue with it was it being small enough to cause a lot of lag. Blizzard had to nerf it just to get people to stop going to it.
listening to this brings back memories almost brings back a tear we have moved on to games because this is no longer what it used to be. All the friends i had met online i will never meet again. :/
i joined WoW back at the middle-end period of Burning Crusade...never gonna forget those days. im only 13 right now in 2017, but XD its WoW you gotta love it no matter how young you are.
So nostaligia thats my favourite place in world of warcraft every time when i was at shattarath i listen to the music and do nothing it was a great feeling and when i reached lvl 70 it was sooo nice i cant believe it so EPIC...... and i was be addicted :DDD i love it
this music reminds me of when i was doing my nether rep and spamming my professions. and just chillin in the bank or waiting for a raid to form. god how i loved gruuls and mags, 40 mins to form, 10 minutes to kill all mobs/bosses. thats with no wipes either.
Listen to me. You MUST try listening to "Everlast - What it's like" while listening to this. This generates something magical. It's crazy how well it fits.
i miss BC, thats when raiding took hard work, now PvP ppl go in and just get full t7.5 holy shit, kara, ZA, SSC,TK, gruuls, HYJAL damnit all i miss those days
Funny thing is i still clubbed it, partied, got chicks, dates, had gfs, went to college, worked, went to gym.... and still was able to play 180 something days of time in WoW hahaha...I think I had more life than a lot of those who insult us.
I remember my level 85 friend summoned a bunch of us level 20 noobs to this place. I had no idea what was going on. I made it my home and couldn't get back to anywhere (silly me) but I don't regret it. I explored the whole of Outland with a level 20 character. Hellfire Peninsula... wow that place is beautiful...
Classic WoW remains the best imo in terms of what it managed to convey to the player, the feeling of unknown and mystery, excitement and a sense of achievement everytime a new challenge was overcome. The expansions brought too much, too fast and all in a rush. It's sad that the new new new expansion will get rid of a beautiful game.
@szarjatek The Draenei and Orcs were the inhabitants of Outland BEFORE it became Outland, back when it was still Draenor. Blood Elves are native to Azeroth; they just have a strong presence in Shattrah.
Ah, Shattrath. Falling off the Aldor lift before having a flying mount and going splat on the ground. Good times :) (still my favourite city in all WoW)
@Belzeboob, Yeh after classic, BC was still really challenging, we had to do aloooot before we finally could do some heroics and then wipe wipe!! Raids still needed attunement so we had to do alot of quests before we finally could go Karazhan. Besides the challenge I loved the atmosphere and the lore, it was a fantastic experience. WOTLK was still beautifull, also with epic lore, but the challenge was mostly gone.
Exxxxxxxxxxxxaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaccccccccccccctttttttttlllllllllllllyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy! Damn, WoW lost something after TBC and it never came back. Or did we just got older, too old to appreciate the game ?
***** Ye...it's pretty sad.I think we liked it becauase we most of the time we had no idea what we were doing and we kept learning. The unknown kept us playing more and more..
+Artu Datu Nope, what ruined the game was that fucking dungeon finder; the person who designed it needs a fucking holocaust with me pissing on his / her urn of ashes.
Flying around by the bank in Shattrath, waiting for your guild to complete the raid group for Gruul or Karazhan. Also constantly opening bags and checking character info to see if you're well prepared to progress..
I quit 2 things more then a year ago. 1 smoking tobacco (smoked for over 16 years) and 2 playing wow (played more then 6 years). After more then a year I still think about both things....but I will be honest....the urge to play wow again and find myself lost in some magical mysterious world is so much bigger then smoking a cig again even tho tabacco seems to be one of the hardest addictions to get over with.
Atmospherically, TBC is the pinnacle. You don't get the emotional feelings in dalaran or orgrimmar that you get in shattrath. Here you have the final resistance of a demon onslaught, the last beacon of hope for countless refugees. A'dal is our savior.
If you've got WoW installed, you can open its music [ audio ] MPQ files with an MPQ editor program, easily found on the net. From there, you can extract anything from the game files.
me too there was one in game friend whom i knew for a couple years. we raided, ganked, pvpd and even chatted about RL stuff...I wonder what happened to him. His name was Sugeknight from Ursin Realm, Tauren Druid
@vvbn7890 I, like yourself and millions of others out there, get such a deep emotional stir when I hear this music. So many good memories float back. My first time in Karazhan I will never forget. But, at the same time, I neglected a lot of my real life and my real life friends for something that, at the end of the day, is pretty much fruitless. It was great while it lasted, but I got away and am glad it's now only a fading memory!
So true, I remember going over to friends house almost every Friday and we would all play WoW togeather. It was the one day that I basically nerded out and instead of going to teen partys I would game with my best buds. I remember sitting up til 5 AM one night pvping as a destro lock with my friend who was playing a resto druid. We were both in pve gear but absolutely destroyed:). Most of my friends quit WoW when wotlk came out but some still play but you're right forsure how time flys.
Vanilla: Ironforge/Stormwind TBC: Shat Wotlk: Dalaran Cata: back to SW/IF It finally came full circle :). I thought cata was OK but after having played since vanilla Beta I stopped a year ago. The music still brings back good memories, I will never stop listening to WoW music.
I have to agree with you on this one even thou i wasn't a top players in TBC(didn't stepped in SWP and never killed illidan during TBC) i had the best memories during TBC...for example i remember when i finally had the gold for 280% mount and then the farming for netherwing drake, all the zones in tbc i loved more than any zone in wrath or cata...i miss tbc :(
same here, i did th sky guard quests for months and months until i was exalted, i sweeped blades edge, nagrand and Area-52 for quests to get gold for when i had the 4.5k gold i could buy epic fly form for my druid. i flew around in outland the entire day enjoying it :)
*
Thank you.
I want to return, but I’m not prepared.
The themes of this expansion were deep and thought provoking.
I may always choose Scryers.
This music is some of the most beautiful in all of wow imo, outlands is still one of my fav areas in the game
+You4rik Trist Its Great, But Dalaran is better :D
+David and the lag that comes with it.
2024 and i still come back to this masterpiece. Matt Uelman's ambient is a pure joy to my eardrums
god damn, I will never forget this era WoW as long as I live, what a special time in a special game that will never be recreated by any game. Brings tears to my eyes hearing this absolutely tranquil piece of music.
Yeah wow in the early 2000s were awsome especially tbc (:
TBC classic is coming soon!
@@stevehitman yes, but it will be not the same. Unfortunatly.
Oh I know. Takes you right back to a simpler time.
My wife and I played Shattrath together; we were both in our 60s. We feel the same way about it today, when we're in our 70s.
Those were the times my friend. Not much of a PvP player, but I know that feeling. I met my guildies in a Karazhan pug. Most of us got along and decided to form a guild. Been raiding with them ever since. Also went to blizzcon with them. Anyway, the guild started dying since cata's release and we decided to quit. you may be the oldest people on the internet
Manuel Abeni bloody sl/sl...
You can almost hear the sound of swords clashing from the Draenei training in Shattrath. Is that my FPS dropping? Good old times...
I don't play WoW anymore, but the music will always be fantastic. I remember the times where i just stood there and listened to it, while chillin out.
me too man, me too
Good times... good times... atleast i still have them in my memory and i will cherish them forever. too bad i won't live through them again =´(
I know,right?:(
There are always private servers my friend!
I'm still living through them XD Feenix TBC private server!! look it up and come join alliance :P
If classic WoW gonna be successful...... i dont see any problems with making offical tbc servers
well, it will never be the same as the first time, it will be all products of fake nostalgia now.
Still listening to this in 2018, gosh nearly 10 years ... scary
Try 15 years later. 😂
Patiently waiting for TBC classic servers.
I remember playing WoW in late vanilla-BC. Yeah, it's a shame. Even though certain areas are low level, I don't think Blizzard should dismiss them as much, cause a lot of work goes into them.
Shattrath will be back in the next expansion. But I'm not sure if it'll be a hub like it was before. It'll also look different.
unrealeck
Yeah im aware of that. It wont be a hub; we get alliance and horde cities again instead of a sanctum. How epic they'll be compared to shatt? idc, but i'm sure they'll be epic.

I agree 100%, all of Burning Crusade for me was wow at it's best, great days.
I remember going through Outland, it felt like such an adventure after vanilla WoW. It felt so original, so different. I have my hearth set in Shattrath. I just love the city...brings back good memories.
I had over 200 days played on my mage, warlock and warrior in TBC, 140 days on mage alone. I always had music on when not doing arenas. TBC is and will forever be the best expansion imo, Wrath came close tho.
I loved exploring, I remember when I discovered uldaman, and I was trying to break in uldum through those gates
it was such a good time..
Hours and hours, days and days spent in Shattrath...Good old days on TBC,i wish i can back time and play again and listen again, enjoy again in magical game WoW TBC !!!! TBC ----------> LIFE
Don't say that mate. Life is awesome :)
But it would be cool to live in outland ofcourse, kinda dangerous tho, lol
Come join us on Feenix private server. Take a trip back to 2007 xD
So many hours wasted walking and flying around Shattrath waiting for groups to be formed...
Michael KNT omg yes. I could have gotten a phd from scratch if i spent the time i spent playing wow studying :( still such good memories...
Listening to this really brought back some memories of BC.. The good ones..
Thanks for posting.
I like how Shattrath City music remixes soundtrack from Hellfire Peninsula. It gives it a nice continuity to the Outland, a sense of familiarity, while also being much calmer, peaceful and safer.

This music is so calm.. I love it.

when bc came out, and frankly for the whole duration of BC, it was one of the best feelings of my life....
I was there... many years ago..God damn
There's a spot on the dome where you can set up a campfire and talk to your pals while waiting for the heroic group to come togethr, used to love hanging out there
When I first stepped into Shattrah, the endless quests that awaited me. God I miss those days
Ney is a beautiful enstrument. That dominant flute thingy it is. Wish they used it more in their wow music.
Every night there , with my friends , chating , have fun ! i miss those good days .
GODDAMN MEMORIES
I'm gonna go cry now
I wish i could play this game..
I miss this game so much.
Its been 14yrs 😭
I remember standing around in the lower levels, waiting for the next battle to start. :) So much time spent in this city.. And now it is so empty, it is almost as painful as Dalaran. Almost.
Reminds me of the friends i once knew wonder what became of them:(

I'd live in a place like this irl
FRUIT VENDOR
I love Shattrath because it feels like a hub city, not just for game-play reasons, but from a lore perspective as well. It feels vibrant, alive and home to all manner of people from various races and backgrounds. I miss the days when we used to hang out at the Worlds End tavern in the Lower City. Good times!

I quit wow like 6 months ago, still loving to hear that nostalgia music
this music haunts my fucking dreams
This music is so good!
I played WoW till classic beta, but then stopped for a long time. And coming into this region, during WoTLK and it basically being a ghost city, was one of the most intensive moments of my life. :D
I bet it already has, you just have to wait 8 years for the nostalgia to kick in
"Remember the lessons of the past" Kinda fits perfectly don't ya think?
Bummer that as soon as WOtLK came out this city died
yeah...same with dal when cata came out...le sigh the memories
Wolfee 27 Dalaran was probably one of the greatest cities Blizzard ever designed. The only real issue with it was it being small enough to cause a lot of lag. Blizzard had to nerf it just to get people to stop going to it.
Nate D Dal was the best. Nice and compact and Allys and Horde mixed.
I remember people looking for pug spamming *"LF ALL ICC 25 HC come to Violet Hold for inspect"*
oh, the times of grinding aldor or scryers rep. great times.
listening to this brings back memories almost brings back a tear we have moved on to games because this is no longer what it used to be. All the friends i had met online i will never meet again. :/
TBC was the best expansion hands down. Would happily go back to that point in my life and live it like Groundhog Day.
Only time youll have the same feeling again is if you die and resurrect into a world like WoW in your next life. What an adventure it would be.
I spend so much time there. ♥
The different districts were so interesting.
i joined WoW back at the middle-end period of Burning Crusade...never gonna forget those days. im only 13 right now in 2017, but XD its WoW you gotta love it no matter how young you are.
Oh que nostalgia, que tiempos aquellos pasando el rato en la ciudad y sus alrededores en burning u.u

I have chilling goosebumps, Rest in Peace Burning Crusade...My life was devoted to you!
I LOVE YOU BC...
BRING BACK MEMORIES
My journey ended at the burning crusade...
"You either die a hero or live, long enough to see yourself become the villain." Same concept applies to games.
Level 70 was my favorite without a doubt. Spent so much time trying to get the season 3 weapon doing nagrand Arena.
Shine On You Crazy Diamonds vibes in the beginning
I remember being lazy, waiting for my friends Bill and Judy to log on so we could do our daily heroics. I miss this place so much. =(
damn right! We relate great great memories to the period the game was part of out life :)
@Nagoragama its an indian flute made from bamboo called a bansuri flute. Its a haunting sound.
this music reminds me of when i was doing my nether rep and spamming my professions. and just chillin in the bank or waiting for a raid to form. god how i loved gruuls and mags, 40 mins to form, 10 minutes to kill all mobs/bosses. thats with no wipes either.
Listen to me. You MUST try listening to "Everlast - What it's like" while listening to this.

Thanks, got the complete 10 hour soundtrack already :D
I remember my level 85 friend summoned a bunch of us level 20 noobs to this place. I had no idea what was going on. I made it my home and couldn't get back to anywhere (silly me) but I don't regret it. I explored the whole of Outland with a level 20 character. Hellfire Peninsula... wow that place is beautiful...

Who else just sat in Shattrah for the music and did absolutely nothing but listen?
@szarjatek
The Draenei and Orcs were the inhabitants of Outland BEFORE it became Outland, back when it was still Draenor.
Blood Elves are native to Azeroth; they just have a strong presence in Shattrah.
Ah, Shattrath. Falling off the Aldor lift before having a flying mount and going splat on the ground. Good times :)

that day will probably never come, wow is one of a kind.

Miss those days
I remember i grinded for days to get the 280% damn that felt so good when i finnaly achieved the money
@vvbn7890
I, like yourself and millions of others out there, get such a deep emotional stir when I hear this music. So many good memories float back. My first time in Karazhan I will never forget. Vanilla: Ironforge/Stormwind
TBC: Shat
Wotlk: Dalaran
Cata: back to SW/IF
It finally came full circle :). I thought cata was OK but after having played since vanilla Beta I stopped a year ago. The music still brings back good memories, I will never stop listening to WoW music.
I miss the old wow at least i still have its music and the memories :/
I have to agree with you on this one even thou i wasn't a top players in TBC(didn't stepped in SWP and never killed illidan during TBC) i had the best memories during TBC...for example i remember when i finally had the gold for 280% mount and then the farming for netherwing drake, all the zones in tbc i loved more than any zone in wrath or cata...i miss tbc :(
outlands was mysterious than anything else so far what made it the best :P
my favorite major city of them all plz make shat live again blizz
Good quality ambient music in its own right.
I agree, Cata was just ok, but got old pretty fast. I quit shortly after Cata came out. I am just here listening to the music for the memories.
