Thank you for making this Faith! I have a prayer Bible and was just following the list, but then I saw one of your videos about context, and i stopped immediately! I have now been going through my Bible and researching the passages that I am marking so I'm not getting caught up in just having tabs. It has meant so much more to me and made my prayer life so much better because I saw that I needed to investigate my scriptures and not just mark them because they are on the list. Thank you again for being such a major part of wisdom for us all! You are truly appreciated! ❤️❤️❤️

✝️ I am a big fan of Sisterita Club and I can honestly say I don’t feel you said anything wrong in this video. This was absolutely solid advice. I think the only issue is that for some it created a fear of doing it wrong but that is not a direct result of you. What you said is absolutely true. I started making a prayer Bible and the beautiful thing is that I got caught up in the Word and am now reading through the Bible as a whole. I have watched your Bible boot camp and just finished theology boot camp yesterday. While this may have started with an “algorithm fad” (obviously praying is not a fad but it being so high in the algorithm will not last forever) it was ultimately a path that brought me back to the Bible in a new way that has created a deep reverence for God’s Word. I am so thankful to have found your channel and I have learned so much from you. You have a humble and beautiful heart so I heard this video through the lense of love that I hear you speak from in all your videos. I will watch the apology video next but wanted to say this as my immediate honest opinion. Thank you Faith!
Ps: I am still going to make a prayer Bible but I will build it over time through prayer time and Bible journaling. It will be a partnership between me and my Savior. ✝️

Agreed. Well said. I have developed a habit of directing my thoughts to God as a way of praying continually. I am considering taking an old Bible that I got for my kids many years ago, and starting a prayer Bible by just highlighting and taking notes elsewhere to get started.

Oh, my dear sweet pure-hearted Faith, I just watched this video after seeing your apology video and I absolutely did not discern any ill will or judgement on your part. Your advice was sound and supportive and your video was well crafted. I am not your typical viewer, being from a decidedly “senior” demographic, but you are one of my bright spots on RUclips, as your teaching and content give me hope for the next generation. What a devoted and Godly leader you are to address responses to this video, but after searching for the ones who felt slighted, I feel they must have read negativity into your comments that was not there. Maybe there is sensitivity because others have criticized the concept, but you were right to offer thoughts on context and following fads, and you absolutely lauded getting into the scripture and praying and even said you wanted to make a prayer Bible yourself. I say all this to say: Well done. You didn’t have to, but you addressed fellow believers who might have been sensitive to comments. Now I hope you will not let the criticism dampen your spirit or cause you another lost moment of concern. I love your beautiful bright shining faith and you can count on me to pray for you as you soldier on.

Faith, thank you. Praying in context is important, being real, not fake in our prayers is important. Encouraging people to pray out of context, which is what is being encouraged in a lot of the prayer Bible videos. We needed a theologically sound RUclipsr to say this. Great video! Thank you.

I didn’t see anything wrong with this video and I re-watched it today after your apology and I still don’t see anything wrong with this video. I understand your background and have taken some courses at a Bible College myself, so I get where you are coming from with a theology background. From a student/Bible/seminary graduate YOU approach the scriptures differently than a new believer and even some seasoned believers. And you know what, that is OKAY! You should not have to back track on your words because of your approach to praying scripture. You do not have to apologize for your convictions✨

So help me understand… people are not ok with this video and their defense is “not everyone has studied or went to Seminary?!?!” There message is to do anything that feels right or makes you tear up?!?!
With all love I say no thank you! I’ve seen witches who study the Bible to attack such superficial work, and they are winning people over!!!!! We can’t be that complacent!
Faith, that is why the work you do now is so important!!!
We study to meet our societal needs but we can’t study for our spiritual needs!?! Make it make sense! The enemy is busy and learning more and more by the minute! How will you shield yourself?!?!
Use your Bible as a Prayer Bible if you choose but please STUDY and have context. It will change your life and take your relationship with the Lord to a new level if you are a believer!
Keep going Faith! Your wisdom is so needed!

Thank you for doing this video. I am in your Patreon and this is what keeps having me start over and over again, because I don't want to take it out of context, but I do realize I want my Bible right there with me at all times to have a tangible reminder to have a relationship with God, it is my everyday protection. I have gotten a Compact Bible to do just that and I will be starting with the attributes of God. Thanking Him and Praising Him for who He is. As I go studying the other verses, I will start adding them little by little. Thank you Faith for all you do.❤

It's kinda funny that you posted this video today.
I have been seeing a TON of videos about Prayer Bibles in the past month or so. Just this morning, I was wondering what your opinions were on the idea.
One channel (It might have been Faithfully Bound) said that they wanted to use it as an outreach tool.
If I decide to make my own Prayer Bible, I think I would use it to help me pray with people because that's something I haven't done often enough.
Normally, when people ask me to pray for them, I would pray for them later at home. But I think a Prayer Bible could help me pray WITH them right on the spot. 🙏
Thank you for sharing this video!
    God bless you, Faith! 💖

Your bored face cracked me up. 😂 I didn’t want to just jump on the bandwagon of the prayer Bible. We just finished a study at my church on Praying The Bible by Donald S. Whitney. His focus was praying the Psalms. I did take my to go Bible and tabbed some of David’s prayers and some of Paul’s prayers. I’m working on memorizing them as well. I also tabbed the Roman’s Road that I memorized as a child. I keep my small Bible with me and I want to have it handy when I get the opportunity to minister to someone. I have leukemia and other health issues and I’m at so many different medical facilities and meeting people in the waiting rooms. So many have needs and just need someone to offer them hope, a caring smile. Since I have this treasure I want to share it. It’s a treasure I don’t deserve, could never earn it. Sorry, I’m being chatty Cathy, lol. In Christ’s love, Shalom.

Love this video! I made a prayer Bible right after I was introduced to the idea and I did notice some verses under certain categories can be taken out of context so I filtered through them before adding it under any category. I HAVE noticed that in just the few days of having it it has increased my memory of scripture and has made it easier for me to have those moments where I can pray and reference certain scriptures without having my prayer Bible in front of me. I love my prayer Bible and I hope that it bakes scripture into me enough so that one day I don’t need it because the scriptures would be written on my heart. Thanks of making this video 💖

I don't necessarily have a prayer bible but I made mine for outreaching to people who need to saved or have certain questions. Examples. Comfort, Hope, faith, forgiveness, family, anxiety, worry. Many more. I do tab these verses that apply what they may need to hear from God & Jesus. I have a hard time memorizing verses so that's why I look at my bible. I study on those verses & take notes so I can help people to understand.

I love this. I have seen people getting frustrated or just making them for everyone because they are so excited to 'make' them. I did print out the little thing and went to highlight and the context didn't fit a lot of the time, I felt. I did sort of make one but I don't use it. I realized that it wasn't my thing. I am having so much fun digging in and studying. The prayer bible to me felt like a devotional or like a bible in a year plan...a total to do for me instead of enjoying my time with Jesus.

I honestly didn't take any negative thing from what you said. I did Bible Journaling with art and I kinda think I was pulled away from in depth study, that's my fault. I repented and put my art journal Bible away for a couple of years because I didn't want to be distracted from a deeper dive in my study. No judgement for anyone that does the art Bible journaling. God speaks to us all in different ways. When I ran across videos about prayer Bibles, I liked the idea of the practice. I know there's lots of God's Promises books out there in praying scripture. I decided not to make a prayer bible but, I will incorporate my prayers into my study Bible. I have a new journaling Bible coming tomorrow and I am going to use it as my study Bible primarily but, definitely like the idea of tabs for marking scriptures to pray. Blessings to you. I love your videos. I just found your channel recently. I feel up lifted and encouraged by your videos. Thank you!

I found you recently and I appreciate your methods on studying and praying the Bible. I also have seen lots of RUclips content on prayer bibles, and saw all the tabs and topic after topic as overwhelming. I’ve taken notes in my Bible for sometime and as journaling format bibles have become more available, my notes and journaling have expanded as well. I think that the important part is studying and pulling more of God’s Word into our hearts. If notes and visuals help a person better understand a verse, then spend the time and do it. If you just want the cross reference to other verses or the commentary or other version, then note those. Be in the Word, and seek to understand and use it more each and every day. Thank you for your thoughtful insights and humble spirit.

I made a prayer Bible and it was a fun project, but the person I gave it too received it badly, feeling that I focused on areas where they have weaknesses. I largely used the themes and scriptures from Sisterita's process videos and a friend's list who had made one. Strange. I saw the sisterita video first. I have been following your videos A LOT the last few days and they have inspired me so much. So I never in a million years thought the video was directed towards you. And now after watching the video in question it seemed a rather harsh critique on their end. BUT I think both your channel and Sisterita club channel want the same things. In my opinion your video was sweet, biblical and in NO WAY was a negative review of a prayer Bible. We should all take Gods Word seriously and both channels do.
Keep doing what you’re doing. Your apology was sincere and was a good thing to do but in no way do I see any offense in your video. Keep doing what you’re doing. I am all up in my Bible after watching you, dictionaries, commentaries… I mean my kitchen table looks like a library. 😂 Thank you and God bless you.

I don’t think prayer using a verse out of context matters. I don’t think we should be teaching others without context, but I do believe that the Lord knows our hearts and even if we chose the wrong verse for the prayer we’re offering up, I don’t believe the Lord will turn his back simply because we haven’t researched the verse enough. I think our unselfish prayer is good no matter what and I think the Lord will work in the hearts of those who seek him. The more you are in the word, the more you want to understand it. Context will come. Prayer is good. Being in the scripture is good. Praying the scripture is good. The more we do that, the more we will grow and learn. My tip: Begin where you are. When you feel that inevitable hunger for more, feed it. Keep reading. Keep studying. Keep praying. Keep growing in your faith.

The bible speaks so much of how important the sabbath is ❤ love your videos ❤ xo

What have beem your conviction about the Sabbath. Its true Prophet Isaiah, Jeremiah and Deuteronomy bear alot of advice on the Sabbath. Lately I've been thinking of how to uphold the Sabbath day. But alot of things keep hindering overthinking, legalism, religion and even how to go about it. Some enlightenment could really be of help.Thank you🙏🏾🙏🏾

    • @killhannaah
      @killhannaah 11 месяцев назад +2

I think the context of that might be that upholding the Sabbath is for yhe Jews. In Jesus Christians are not under the law anymore, but are free. We are called to follow Jesus who fulfilled the law. This is just a super short answer. But it is a good idea to study this further. Jesus says quite a bit about the Sabbath in the New Testament. Just make sure you remember that only your believe in Jesus is your Salvation. Keeping the Sabbath is not going to get you saved, wash away your sins or anything like that. God bless you in your studies!

Jesus reveals how love is the fulfilling of the Law (Romans 13:10). He adds, “If you love me keep my commandments” (John 14:15). And the Sabbath is one of these Laws actually the only one where God says to remember it 😊

This subject is much bigger than people realise it’s so sad how many people allow themselves to be misled the Bible reveals its truths so beautifully 😊

I watched your apology video and then watched this video. I don't know why people were offended because what you said in this video was true, don't do something just because it is popular. It is very easy to start to do something just because it is popular. Watching Siserita Club video on prayer bible made me consider doing a prayer bible but it would be me doing it just because it is popular. Would it get me to pray yes, but for me it would not be sustainable. I love your tips, if folks focus on the tips they will understand what you are talking about and it will drive them to truly be honest as to why they are creating a prayer bible, is it truly to develop a closer relationship with God. I like the idea of prayer lists.

I do not put tabs in my bible, I only write with pencil in my bible, and I don't write anything that's not study related in my bible......so...when wanting to start using it as a prayer bible I had to really think how I wanted to do so without all that extra fluff.
So I decided to use the dictionary/concordance to keep track of the scriptures I've marked for prayer.
I write in and or highlight those verses/chapters.
Keeps my bible free what I see as clutter, with tabs and the like.
Nothing against a bunch of tipins, tabs, ect...but thats just how I do it.

"video that pops off on a topic... good for *smaller* creators to make videos on that topic to get traffic...algorithm reward" OUCH! Probably not necessary to generally call out smaller creators who have done this because of their enthusiasm for prayer bibles.
It's reinforcing a way to give people a specific purpose to open their bibles who may be intimidated by bible study because they don't know where to start. . Example - new readers have to start somewhere & it can lead to them wanting to them study scripture & validate context over time.

I don’t understand your warnings /cautions in this video.
I have seen your videos on a prayer war binder. Didn’t you write scripture in your war binder? When I set up mine, I did, and I felt dissatisfied with it being in a notebook BECAUSE it was missing context. I didn’t know what to do about it until I came across a video showing how to glue pages into my Bible. So now my prayer binder is INSIDE a Bible. I have glued in pages for prayer requests. I use sticky notes to add in prayer requests.
And then I also know you memorize scripture, but not whole chapters or books, but just one verse here and there, from various parts of your Bible. That, again, doesn’t seem any different than praying scripture verses over situations and emotions.

I dont understand how suggesting you keep the passages in context is so controversial? When you speak to someone, do you want someone to take your words for how you meant them, or take words out of context to fit their own narritive?
I dont see anything wrong with prayer Bibles if I understand the idea of it correctly...but of course you should do it by keeping context. Respect Gods words. Not the book...but Gods words. Without the meaning of these words..the book is just a book. Keep it Holy and keep it true. ❤ Afterall, Gods purpose with His words are perfect. Taking them out of context, in MY opinion, kind of comes off like we believe our new context is better. I dont think we will all agree on the meaning behind everything, i just think we need to be intentional about respecting the Word of God.

Hi Faith!❤ After watching the live video posted after this one, I strongly felt I needed to comment here as well, bc your perspective on this has really helped me! I feel that with this video you brought a much needed perspective to the table.
After watching all the video's on prayer Bibles I really felt like I was missing out, needed to find the right Bible immediately to do this. Even feeling anxious about it. Praying is really hard for me, and here are all these people even praying scripture... Honestly when I first saw the title of this/your video I didn't want to watch it at all.
However later I did watch it, bc through some of your other video's (which I often watch for guidance and inspiration) I was reminded that I really value your opinion and the way you approach your faith life. And after I was thanking God for you making this video!!
I really resonated with you saying that it is easy to jump on trending topics (honestly even as a consumer of these video's) for the wrong reasons. And here I was getting so anxious about it, for seeing the same thing over and over, all the while forgetting to keep my eyes on what is really important. I don't need to have a special prayer Bible and the reasons/ways to pray scripture should be grounded in context and understanding to build a true relation.
I was ready to start copying what all these people were doing, hoping it would solve an issue, while already feeling that this way wasn't right (for me at this moment). Thank you for giving me some perspective and helpful tips on how to approach praying scripture! So I can approach praying scripture in my personal situation in the right way, instead of copying what others are doing for the wrong reasons!
Which also ties in with the recent critiques and why I wanted to come back and post a (lengthy 😅) comment here. I value your honesty and authenticity, Faith. And you basically mentioning that from a business perspective it can really help to jump on trending topics, the more I appreciate you for creating a video to bring something new to the table! It is really hard to be creative, helpful and original all at the same time, trying to be good at this, while serving a higher goal! ❤

Honestly it’s a great idea but I completely agree that you don’t necessarily need to get a Bible to have strictly as prayer you can pray in the Bible you have and in a way that benefits you or even in a prayer journal. You can use what you have and do it your way it’s cool to take ideas from creators but make sure it’s for you and helpful to you because you may realize for yourself that it may be different for you. It’s more important to focus on praying more then making it a trend in a sense. I completely agree with what your saying to know the context before praying a specific scripture. Great video I’ve been waiting on you to make a video on this topic so glad you did. Love your advice about it it truly takes away the overwhelm some may be feeling like oh I need another Bible and all these things when what you have is good enough. The goal is to pray without ceasing. ❤

It's so easy for us to pull out verses and "make them say what we want them to say" and I really appreciated hearing the reminder to make sure to check the context of scripture verses when using them to guide our prayers. New here and I watched your apology video and then this video. I have been blessed by Jessica of the Sisterita club’s videos on prayer bibles and that spoke to me to create my own. The process of selecting, reading the verses and creating the prayer Bible can be a form of Bible study and worship too. But the thought of having a smaller Bible for that purpose alone appeals to me while I would rather have my main Bible that I use for study less visually cluttered. With that said, I didn’t find your video offensive or mean. I didn’t select the same topics and not all the same verses as she did even if I chose the same subject. Prayer Bibles are personal and I believe a tool that will help enrich my prayer life and my relationship with our Heavenly Father. I have found your videos on prayer mapping very informative and can’t wait to use them when I study. Thank you and God bless.

Although I don’t normally comment I always look to you for words of wisdom. ❤️I am also starting a compact prayer bible like what sisterita showed. I will be looking at what verses she has chosen and their context as you said and also verses recommended by favorite pastors. I won’t have as many categories as she has. I do love the tab idea for quick access. Two weeks ago my husband was in the emergency room unexpectedly requiring emergency surgery in the night and in pain for hours followed by more surgery in the morning. Hours of waiting, confusion and exhaustion followed me into the next day as I waited to see how he would do. I wished the entire time as I prayed that I had something small with prayers in it with me. He is home now (doing well). This week I decided I needed to put together something to carry with me when sisterita youtube on prayer bibles popped up on my feed. I knew this was God leading me. This will be something I plan to always carry with me. We are older with no children nearby, when you are alone in a hospital, unable to think because you’re not sure if your dear one will be there in the morning the tabs will help you find what you need. Prayers for healing, protection were obviously needed but prayers for anxiety and worry would have also helped as I tried to keep it together for my husband and advocate for help when he couldn’t . It was the most difficult thing I have ever gone through. I will truly welcome having my little bible marked so I can find my way to find Gods words and pray more powerfully to the Lord. God bless you, your wonderful ministry here and lovely family Faith! Much love, Diane

I became a Christian as an adult so I didn't grow up with this. I have always struggled with personal prayer. So I see my prayer Bible as a way to just help me pray more and get more comfortable with it. I spent a lot of time going thru the verses, picking out the ones that made the most sense or that I found inspiring. As I get more comfortable with the scriptures, I will also tag some of those scriptures in my main Bible. Because I too like everything in one Bible. So I just see the prayer Bible as a temporary tool.

I’ve been seeing this trend and thought it was a interesting take on praying scriptures but… Here it is, I was raised in, and married to a pastor of, a church that took verses out of context all of the time and called them “Rhema” words. Now, at 53 and no longer in that denomination, I am craving pure truth. Don’t get me wrong, I still have a close relationship with the Lord but I now long to follow truth more than any man’s revelation. I hope that makes sense. Anyway, I appreciate you videos and have really enjoyed following along with your journey.

Everyone like this video so the algorithm picks it up and spread awareness about this. I don’t like seeing brothers in Christ being deceived. Thanks Faith for speaking truth 🙌🏼
