Yeah, this video was unconvincing. Sedimentation could have covered the body of the Sphinx between 11,000 and 5,000 years ago thus preventing its 'disintegration'. Later generations could have excavated, then repurposed the site, or the inundation of the area with river water may not have even happened as described here. Likewise, the Nile River is only about 30 feet deep thus a redirection of the river would not have fully submerged the 66' tall artifact as shown in the illustration. Ultimately, this is a geological and climatological puzzle with professional scientists having no unanimity of opinion for the assertions provided by the videographer. One of the key arguments against the 12,000-year-old Sphinx hypothesis has been the lack of evidence for the necessary technological advancement of early Neolithic people to build the alleged proto-Sphinx structure. The discovery of the Gobekli Tepe site has vanquished this argument. Ultimately, we are just scratching the surface for understanding early human societies.

If we're going back to the African Humid Period, the Nile would not have been what it is today. Scientists have estimated it would have had a flow similar to today's Amazon and have been subject to highly energetic flooding. Erosion on the Sphinx is inconclusive as to its age and it's more likely that at best, it may be a couple of centuries older than Khafre.

@@viper2148 _You'd best be careful when you throw around a phrase like "scientists" as if they're a monolith._
As opposed to your half dozen geologists?
The reason I said 'scientists' is that it's scientists who have worked on the African Humid Period and concluded it was a time of much higher rainfall and large, energetic river flows in upper Africa, including that of the Nile. There's a lot of papers available online about it - papers published by scientists.
I suspect you're actually upset about my calling erosion on the Sphinx (and its enclosure), inconclusive evidence for a much earlier date for construction. But it is, else there would be much greater agreement over the issue. It's also worth noting that Robert Schoch, who did much to promote an earlier date (and is a geologist), does not agree it was more than a few centuries before Khafre, certainly not thousands of years.

While traditional Egyptologists claims on the age and builders of the great pyramid and Sphinx stand on a shaky foundation I will not say they are 10,000 years or older. What I will say is the continuity of astronomical knowledge used and encoded into the structures most defiantly go back to 10,000 BC at bare minimum. Their knowledge of the procession of the equinox, celestial events and cycles point to tens of thousands of years of observation which began outside the Nile Valley in places like the Nabta Playa Stone Circle and “Inzalo y’Langa”, or The Birthplace of The Sun” also called Adams calendar. The civlziation also began long before 3100 BC.

He believes it was the precessional cycle 26,000 year prior to the last time the sphinx was housed by the Leo constellation. Hi Wes, utmost respect. I'm an astrophysicist who will gladly listen and chat with flat-earthers and young-earthers, and weigh all evidence.
The thing about the 12k date is there is a strange alignment across the board with many different events:
    - the layout of the sphinx and pyramids coinciding with constellations subject to half an axial precession (which is 24k years, discovered by Ptolemy)
    - the dating of the neolithic age at 12k years / neolithic is invention of metallurgy / Book of Enoch connects the invention of metallurgy with the global flood.
    - the younger dryas flood is dated at 12k years, and was the last global flood as far as I am aware.
    - the dating of Gobekli Tepe, the oldest excavated site between the Tigris and Euphrates.
    - Plato & Solon's dating of Atlantis
So there is a strange alignment of dates at 12k from various sources.
Not to give credit to any of them. Not to say this event must have happened at the year -10,000 Gregorian calendar subject to our SI units of one day. There are always more things to consider, like possibilities of changes of length of a day, or time dilation, errors in dating, or planetary bodies like red-dwarf stars passing through our solar system 50kya ... any of many other options.
I think the alignment could be a good source of historic evidence of the stories of Genesis 1-10.

If this is a rudimentary map (which is doubtful to begin with), isn't it more likely to be referencing local landmarks such as mountains, rather than monuments hundreds of miles away? The triangles are far too abstract to equate them to the Giza Pyramids (leaving aside the good reasons why those monuments didn't exist at the time), and don't much represent the height difference between the tombs, except the one on the right is biggest. The sphinx is believed to have been built just after the Tower of Babel incident (~2000 BC) by the first rulers who migrated there from Babylon. They called it "He who is in the horizon" in reference to Nimrod (who was still their god-king) and it is looking directly to where Nimrod's Island palace used to be.

We don’t, the paper he is taking about was heavily criticised for ignoring topography makers to form its opinion. They know the Nile flooded and that’s about it really. The extent of how far and deep the water was isn’t known. The paper he cites also ignored counter evidence of ancient dams and water management of the area and also missed ancient rivers that are no longer there which is a clear sign the area wouldn’t have been covered by water. One thing we know about the ancients, they were masters of water management.

Context is important here. The Dixon relics, which comprised of a stone ball, copper hook and piece of cedar wood (probably part of the hook's handle), were found stashed separately in the small N/S shafts in the Queen's Chamber. The wood was C14 dated to ~500 yrs before Khufu. But it's important to consider that these are portable objects, not part of the structure. Also, C14 dating gives when the wood stopped growing, not when it was carved into shape. In contrast, C14 dating of charcoal found in the mortar used in the pyramid's construction - which is an integral building material - roughly dates to Khufu's time, but the range of dates for these samples may again be earlier due to the possible use of old wood scraps by the Egyptians.

Hey brother, can you post a link to those studies you reference? From my own research, it appears that while the Nile's volume and coverage was greatly increased during the AHP, it's coverage mostly increased towards the east bank (which is at a lower elevation I believe, so it makes sense). The sphinx at that time does not appear to be in direct contact with the nile, but it does appear to be in the flood zone. This would seem to indicate that it is indeed older as Graham Hancock and Robert Schoch claim as the water spilling over into the enclosure during those periods of flooding would create those erosion marks. God bless!

All the studies i've seen indicate that the sphinx was not in direct contact with the Nile river during the humid pyramid, but that it WAS in the flood zone. It seems that the increased volume of water primarily increased the coverage of the nile on the east bank, which is at a lower elevation I believe (makes sense to me). This would seem to be evidence for the older than established age of the sphinx, as the erosion marks could have come from flood waters frequently spilling over into the enclosure during those periods of flooding.

@Tombstonedd, Biblical archaeologist Steven Rudd of The Shiloh Excavations had arrived at the conclusion that Creation date was 5554 B.C. The great flood happened in 3298 B.C. And the tower of Babel was built and destroyed in 2850 B.C. This timeline would help greatly to mark the milestones of world /human history.
After the flood, the first civilization of mankind 2.0 starting with 8 people would be the kingdom of Ararat located at and around Mt. Ararat (modern-day Turkey). The second would be the Sumer /Mesopotamia civilization after Nimrod at 25 y/o in 3200 B.C. had migrated South and founded Babel/Eridu (modern-day Iraq) followed by many others. World pop. was estimated to be about 800 people. From a single-language civilization ... new languages, new tribes and new nations only emerged after the tower of Babel was destroyed in 2850 B.C., and world pop. was estimated to be about 12 million people.

You can’t add the ages back to back. If you go by Genesis chapter 5 Adam had lived 130 years when his son Seth was born - the side issue, not answered in the Bible, is Adam living 130 years from when? The time he was created fully as a fully formed man, or from another date? Anyway, Adam lived on for another 800 years, but in this context that is not relevant because Seth lived 105 years old and he became a father … and so on. If one adds up the time in this way it is 1056 years until Noah is born - thereafter, according top Genesis chapter 7 the flood arrived when Noah was 600 years old. What we don’t know is how long the earth had existed when Adam was created. It is also not clear, from the Bible account whether there were other people on the earth, also created by God … but, from when Adam’s years started to be counted until the flood is 1656 years.

What did you think of Dr. Robert M. Schoch's work which kicked off this debate. Here is what he said in a 1992 article, "Based on the data, I've concluded that the Sphinx was built in stages. The Egyptians carved the core of the Sphinx--the front and sides--first, in at least 5000 B.C. and perhaps earlier. Later, possibly in Khafre's time, workers chiseled out the rear of the Sphinx and recarved the head. No one knows what the original head looked like; many observers consider the current head too small for the body, and it shows signs of more recent cut marks than does the body. Furthermore, it has long been suggested that the face of the Sphinx portrays Khafre, but this assumption has recently been questioned."

Also compare the workmanship of the head compared to the body, notice the difference in erosion. Wouldn't it make sense to create a lion effigy in the time of Leo pointing to that constellation to date the project. Same for the dateing of the great pyramid. No hiroglyphic or mummy were ever found in the great pyramid. In The king's chamber the so called tomb is very small for a body and just so happens to line up with the dimensions of the ark of the covenant.
